GFriend was forcibly disbanded by Source Music controlled by Hybe so they could concentrate on developing a new group that Hybe had invested a lot of money in. GFriend members cried for months afterwards as the company lied about it saying that it was by mutual agreement at the end of their contract when there was still 6 months left on their existing contract. They reunited at the VIVIZ dorm to watch old GFriend videos and reminisce about their happy days together on their 8th anniversary a few weeks ago and Sowon their leader says that she would love them to reunite next year but particularly to be able to celebrate their 10th anniversary together, as they never ever disbanded but just went to do separate projects. VIVIZ have no leader as they have said Sowon is still their leader despite not being in their group. The breakup was so sad but also so cruel on them as Source Music was penniless and could only afford a handful of staff and rented a small basement where the girls trained. But GFriend made the company rich and so successful Hybe paid handsomely to buy an 80% share in them nearly 5 years later.
Gfriend has been inactive for almost 4 years and they are still in the top 4 female groups with the most music show wins (71 wins). Gfriend comes from such a small company but they were able to compete with other girl groups from big companies and also be able to enter the top 5 of the 3rd gen girl groups known as TREBELMAYEO (twice, red velvet, blackpink, mamamoo, yeojachingu/gfriend)

I know that you said that you would try to get to know the members after you have watched all their music videos but I think that you would get more enjoyment if you could identify the members individually when you watch them and know a little bit about their personalities. A Guide to GFriend 2020 is an excellent guide to show this as well as being very funny and enjoyable to watch so watching that soon would be a sensible move. You will be amazed at their talent which is shown in that video. So u've done 'Glass Bead' and now 'Me gustas tu', the next one should be 'Rough'. These three songs (Glass bead, mgt, rough) are included in gfriend's concept called 'School trilogy'. Just a tip, if u wanna watch the mv with captions and when there's no caption in the MV uploaded on the group's official channel, try to check the MV uploaded on the 1thek channel cus subs are usually available there. On 1thek's channel, there's eng caption for me gustas tu as well as the following MVs.
