These cars getting back on the lead lap comes down to pit strategies and pace cars. If the pace car comes out and people pit if your a lap down don't pit pace car will wave you through as he wants to pick up the race leader. While cars are going slow behind pace car you go for broke to catch the field again before race restart.

manufacter laws have changed multiple times, at times they had manufactuer teams mainly was always holden vcs ford the rest came and went. i think currently all manufacters left or were banned now only private teams thhough the teams that were manufacter are still around as pruivate usually with the driver being an owner or main person in the team. but like i said it allk changes every few years
Unfortunately for SVGs the stater motor wouldn’t have mattered if he didn’t stall the engine. Just unfortunate that it had failed so he couldn’t start it again.
They opened up the series to new builders with a 5lt V8 platform or one close that can be made to equal our gear so Mercedes through Erabus came in never did much always a step behind the home grown Volvo did well but later found out that it was played with to give gains it shouldn’t have but years passed before it was found out
I think re manufacturers, and I'm not totally sure about now. There is a set of parameters the cars have to meet, like all, this is to try and make the cars ad even as possible. I think it started when the series was purely Ford Vs Holden. But had continued as the series introduced new eras with new manufacturers. This time was the most manufacturers since the pre supercar, touring car days. The number of manufacturers retracted, then it switched to US cars, I think they're reintroducing other manufacturers now, or recently have. But yeah I'm not sure if it's invite, I think if you have a car that fits the set parameters you can ask, or maybe be asked. I'm also not sure if this is still a thing but the series was always supposed to be cars based on things you could buy, like Commodores and Falcons.
Also I remember watching this, it was epic, so epic, I'm not a Wincup fans so loved waiting for the car to cough. Loved Mostert winning but Morris not so much, he's a dbag.
Haha these guys aren't going flat out the whole time some corners there back to 2nd gear. Also race is normally around 6 hrs but this one took a lot longer with the stoppage and pace cats
Nascar isnt going flat out around Charlotte they have to slow for the turns other then that the red flag many wrecks and pace/safety cars combined the time up if I remember correctly the shortest time it took to complete the 621 miles (1000 kilometers) was 6 hours

He said that race is 8 hours long even though it’s only about 20 miles longer than the Coke 600. Math works in weird ways…
