Really good overview of the Fabia. Having driven Skoda's and VW's in recent years, picked up the [a hasty purchase] new Hyundai i20 last year. Although fairly well speced and spacious etc, i just can't seem to get on with it. You'd need the hands of a five year old to fasten the seat belt, there's so little room. No lumbar support adjustment on the drivers seat. Just picked up the brochure/spec sheet for the fabia, will be taking a test drive soon.
Was looking at the Fabia but went for a Leon instead, lack of a 6 speed manual put me off, and as you said Mark could really do with a sixth gear. Mind you no one in Seat knows if my order placed 02/02/22 will be built so I dunno if I will be getting it🤷🏻♂️ currently there’s a hold on production.
People loving manual/stick are people not driving more than 5000km a year😂 my man i guarantee you if you do more than 20 000km the manual will make you rage so much that youd sell your car, and i drove for 10years in manual, I cant get back to it feels so ancient and old and exhausting

I agree Use to be a Skoda offered things you didn't expect, today they still do,but as you say on an option list at extra money. Take the usb point near the interior mirror as an example 🤔
I know how practical a hatchback is, this is why I bought one, just not the Fabia because it's too expensive IMO. I got an i30 with the 1.5 Turbo petrol and it's... lovely :)
Yes to hatchbacks! And 3 box saloons. Kudos to VW for leading the EV charge with the ID3. Sadly the infotainment and interior quality is distracting buyers from what is a great car. Let’s hope the Cupra variant does better.
Don’t talk about shortages & lead-times within the VW GROUP range. Next Thursday is the delivery of my Formentor after an Aug 20th 2021 order date!!!!!
No heads-up display, No birdseye camera, No automatic handbreak, No auto suspension adjustment settings (sport/ economy / comfort), so impossible to understand the price point.
I like the idea of a built in dash cam. More manufacturers should offer that as an option.
Definitely needed in Ireland with jam rolls pulling out off side roads all the time.

Charging is not a problem on VW EVs if you charge from home. Infotainment systems are fine on all 2022 models.
