      Hi! I want to make this chicken soup. I have only been canning for about two months, and I don’t understand why you have to use the Insta pot since it’s already a rotisserie chicken? As long as all ingredients are either cold or hot right? I guess I’m confused.

      @@Clouds457 I think it's mainly because she was using it to make broth to use as the liquid in the jars and not for the purpose of cooking the chicken.

    I love to hear your stories! I grew up in the 50S with 8 kids and surviving was always a challenge. Bless my mom but her meals were basic. ( I used to say she could burn water, and turn liver into new soles for our shoes) But my Dad, oh how he could cook. He had me on a chair at the stove (and the sink full of dirty dishes, lol ) at an early age maybe 5. Oh the things he taught me at an early age, like how to make a roux and the science behind, exactly how to dice carrots or jullien them When my sister was born, I was 12. Dad had to go to work, mom was on bedrest due to phlebitis so dad gave me explicit instructions on how to make a pork roast and roasted potatoes/gravy etc. I took the challenge and have been fascinated with food prep ever since. I'm not on often, but I love love love your page. Keep it up!

    works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside th-cam.com/users/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again.This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.

    I love this. I make bone broth, then chicken soup, then bake the bones to make them brittle. I powder them in the nutri bullet. Then add eggs and the shells, (blended)turmeric, powdered a small amount of oatmeal and water. Bake on large cookie sheet lined with 2 layers of parchment paper at 350 degrees until desired crispness for our dog treats. No waste of the life of that chicken. Thank you for making this video.

    • @mommajuju2957
      @mommajuju2957 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Carmen2960 from my research, you never want your cans fully submerged. You should read the manual with your canner and it should advise on the amount of water to put in your canner. In my experience, the water always goes higher on my pint jars. As long as the water is below the 1” mark on your jars it should be ok. I am a newbie though… you can also call the company you purchased your canner from… I have an All American and their support is amazing. Good Luck!

      @@ericaharris9015 I've not seen any instructions or videos using jars larger than quarts. Processing times are based partially on the internal temps that you may not achieve with larger jars.

    This was a pleasure to watch. Second of your videos I've seen now.
    I really enjoyed hearing about what it was like for you growing up ... and at what ages you were learning to cook/bake. I'm the youngest child of a Mom who was the youngest of 6 children from a homesteading farm family. My Mom knew how to do everything, but the skills really didn't get passed on to me ... and there was such a huge age difference between me and my Grandmother, opportunities were lost. That's really cool that you were learning to do so many things so young. I very much like how your scientific thoughts break things down. The video you did on the soup that should last for a year, the way you broke that down in terms of nutrition, etc ... I loved that.
    I'm SO into canning. I love the idea of creating food this way, re storage and health. I watch videos often on canning, but just feel so intimidated by the process. Hopefully watching more of your videos will help.
    Awesome video, thanks! 🌷

    I love that you use the kitchen scale. Couldn’t be without them. Even weigh out the ground coffee. People think I’m nuts. I also always use an instant read thermometer when cooking and baking. No surprises when you use “tools”. I’ve been removing the chicken from the bones prior to doing the broth (11 cats are big fans of Costco chicken!). I’ve been finding the bones are practically disintegrated and just become a coarse powder when crushed so I have been putting it out to feed my little raccoon lady who visits every night.
