#4 (far right) has her own little routine getting up there. Even after using the simple pulse you still have to get residual intersting. Also if I let my one Nigie go longer I get more milk. Shes used to my laziness and we shoot for 12 hrs but from my work schedule past we milk at weird hours anyway. They let you touch them so much better than mine. Also I do little udder care as At 9 months of milking I have to tape or I would get nothing as we retained a now wether and he is very sneaky!
That’s Trouble, she insists on getting on the stand and then hoping off and then back on again. I quit trying to correct her😂 And yes I don’t set my milking machine up to strip out my does, it can over time blow out the udder.
It looks like a gallon or two? Ok, I heard you ... a gallon to a gallon .5 a day. ty great video...how much time is it from start to finish to milk your goats and then clean/disinfect...how much time do you estimate? 45 min? And finally does the milk from a dwarf Nigerian have a real goaty after taste?
Currently from start to finished (this year with 6) it’s about 32 minutes. That’s included machine milking, hand stripping them out and cleaning my machine. Yes, the milk from a Nigerian dwarf is so much sweeter and thicker in consistency in my option, no goaty flavor at all. It all depends on how well you clean each goat, what you feed and how clean your machine equipment is.
@@deserthardtdairygoats ty so much for taking the time to reply. I am making a major move and hope to land on an acre or two...two would be much better than one acre. Anyway, I want to make cheese and I love milk (I just don't drink it by the glass bc is so commercialized) hence the hunt for a goat or 2 or 3. Dwarfs are my speed...I don't want to get taken out by a full grown goat. I'll be back!
I feel kinda dumb asking. I want to sign up for dhi this year. Im confused on the actual signing up and when you pick the company to go through. And what do you send the samples in once its collected?
To sign up first you pick a DHI lab, you contact them and take your verification test. Then you pick a processing center, after you’ve done those three things then you sign up with ADGA and tell them you it lab&processing center. From there the lab you pick sends you the milk vial tubes that you’ll mail to them with your milk samples each month.
Nice setup 😁
Thank for help reed andweep at the show

Aww thank you!! I appreciate you finding my channel♥️
This is amazing , the care you give them. How many times a day do you milk? and how much milk do you get a day?
Currently milk twice a day, 12 hours in between each milking. I get about a gallon to a gallon and a half each day.
Good luck at the next show!

Where did you get your milk stand? Enjoyed the video :)
I had my milk stand custom made by my father.
Just love the little one. Whats her name?
Her barn name is Diva, registered name is Desert Bounty SR Temptation
What do you mean you clip her utter? I've never heard of seen that in other videos. After you trim can the baby still eat?
Clipping the udder is just cleaning the hair that grows around and on it. Yes a kid can still nurse off the dam, it’s just a “hair cut” per say

Dear im new your chenal so can give me brief introduction about u and ur goat soi can relate my self .... If possible make video
I do have a introduction to the herd video posted from a few weeks back but I’ll definitely get an updated one that includes myself as well.
how much milk per goat do you get?
Averages right now to 5.5lbs to 2.4lbs between my 6 does. I don’t have exact Mason jar amount because I measure in weight per volume.
