Regine's low and mid range notes were perfectly executed. My only issue with her is when she forces the high notes C5 & higher. Her voice sounds strained and distorted. It would have sounded better if she approached the high notes with a mixed belt than with a full chest voice. At her age and struggle with acid reflux, Regine should adjust her vocal technique. Gone are the days of her youth.
Bakit kaya ganun, noong kabataan niya hindi ko gusto ang quality ng boses nya lalo pa sa mga mid-range key, kasi boses nya tunog maliit na batang paslit na puno ng sipon ang ilong na umiiyak dahil nagugutom, pero yakang-yaka nya ang mga high notes noon,... ngayon sana maganda na sana ang boses nya from low to mid-range melodies, kasi tunog adult na talaga, wala na iyong nasal resonance na pampaslit, yun nga lang may issue pa rin, hindi na nya kayang itawid ang high notes at namamaos na ang kanyang boses pagdating sa high notes.

Too bad there is less likely chance that she will ever recover from the vocal damage caused by her acid reflux on the range and clarity of her former golden voice. Her voice sounds dry, tired and raspy as usual (despite the key being adjusted already lower than her 2000 SOP performance of this song). It is no longer soothing to the ears (not to mention her very round face along with her annoying facial expressions of difficulty when already on the high note parts of the song). Her great performances from years back will now remain a distant memory of the past as clearly she is incapable of regaining back her pre-pregnancy voice (and most importantly, her loss of confidence). Maybe next time, she should avoid doing too much “birit” or vocal acrobatics and stick to more calmer songs using whatever is left of her aging voice. It’s probably time for ASAP to give more air time to newer breed of singers. They are still giving Regine so much exposure to the point that younger (and more talented) singers are being set aside because they still give majority of the good parts to Regine. Regine had her more than enough share of stardom. Now is the time to redirect the limelight to the younger ones (time for change) and give them the chance to shine! Regine can start enjoying her early retirement though.
