  • Spearfishing some local reefs close to Auckland New Zealand. Big Yellowtail Kingfish and Big Bronze Whaler Shark attack. With near to perfect conditions I went on a solo mission to hunt for Big NZ snapper and Kingfish. I come across an awesome sight of a whale breaching about 10 meters in front of me! See more below:

    So I've since Learned from this video that bronze whalers are 10th in the world for attacking humans so don't take them too lightly. It seems my bare skin may have provoked their curiosity as it could have looked like flesh/fish. Make sure to keep your wetsuit bottoms on!

    • @olliecraig-primalpursuit
      @olliecraig-primalpursuit  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate can get away with a single 16mm band if you're close enough. My guns are usually rugged double rubber either x2 14mm or x2 16mm. It more depends on the length of your gun?

    • @austhollamby1141
      @austhollamby1141 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a 75cm little railgun with twin 14s for rock/shallow reef Diving and just a 110cm mares sniper pro with a 16mm rubber for anything slightly bigger at this stage... Been thinking of upgrading the sniper band to an 18mm or 20mm rubber but unsure if worth it. I'm in South Australia and only come across Kingfish if I travel a few hours for long weekends and dive at Yorkes or Robe but was hoping to get away with a 16mm band on the 110cm if I ever get close enough for a shot!
      Only have a 15L float as well though...

      By pull the fish you mean gut them? I've never had nay sharks come in when I'm gutting fish. If they are around they usually turn up by just the sound of the speargun going off. If they still aren't there by the end of the fight then I'm pretty happy to gut them in the water..
