Fun fact: I work for a german company, which builds fully automatic toilet bowls for a german brand. They are sold in asia.
Where can we get these toilets? 😮
@@maja-kehn9130 Villeroy & Boch viclean is the product.
Have you had a test shit, and if so, what's your opinion of them? 🙂
@@alexradojkovic9671 no, we did not have these installed. I just shared the office with some of the members of the team that set up the production of these. I was involved in a other project back then.
When he entered the political part, he partly put on his tinfoil hat. Especialy his take on the media is more than wild. I am really shocked about some of his conspiricy takes.
PISA is ripped.. some country's trained the kids for only this tests..But at the other side, he is right. The problem is, that the national states have the power to change this, not the government.
He lives in Berlin, that says it all!
Yeah exactly
Berlin, germanys lost city
Teachers can't easily change states, but not because things are done differently. It's because most of them are state officials and the states don't want to let them go, if there is no substitute. And guess what, the are areas where many want to move to and others, where noone wants to be.
It is generally reported that the dog tax is an old tax, it is supposed to be a luxury tax. Apparently the nobility wanted to use this tax to prevent the bourgeoisie or farmers from having pedigree dogs. Germans are efficient and that also applies to the kitchen.
Someone who is 2 meters tall needs a higher kitchen work surface than a 1.60m person and households with 4 people need more and larger kitchen appliances and floor space than a single person.
Once you have bought the kitchen you want and can work with it efficiently and without straining your back, you don't want to move into an apartment with a less efficient or uglier kitchen.
US Americans eat mostly fast food (that's what I heard) you don't need efficient kitchens for that.
I cook fresh every day and my worktop is 95cm high so that I don't have to arch my back when cutting and washing. My cousin, on the other hand, has a kitchen that is just 75cm high and her wall cupboards are hung at a 'depth' of 1.35m, which means I would be at Constantly looking in front of the cupboards in her kitchen and not seeing what I'm cutting, etc.
We both work efficiently with our kitchens. If these kitchens were like this in the respective apartments, many people wouldn't be able to do anything with it; my kitchen would be too high for many people and theirs would be too small for many people.
Kitchen furniture often fits in with the rest of the furnishings and of course that doesn't work if the kitchen isn't part of the furnishings.
My kitchen has a lot of drawers for large loads, which I like better than doors and it's easier to get something out from the side or from above without it, for example the cupboard doors are in the way.
Friends of mine have extra cutouts in their worktops for fryers, warming plates and/or a wok station.
All of this is only possible if every kitchen can be customized.
People move much less often in Germany because rents are not only cheaper than abroad but the apartments are usually also of higher quality.
cheers
1:49 : My first 3 years in school I was in Hamburg. Then my family and me moved to another Bundesland (State) Schleswig-Holstein. I went to a new school in a small town. I was really shocked and my school grades became worse - especially in math. Because Hamburg had a different plan of teaching as they're had in Schleswig-Holstein only a few Kilometer away. And it took me years to make a little better.
Today I don't like math neither and I think the reason is because of this shock when I was 9 years old.
Greetings from northern Germany ♥️🇩🇪
I'm not sure if this guy really stayed for longer in Germany and was really able to understand how it goes and why...🧐
If you're not using high speed/intercity services, you can use all bus, tram, underground, monorail and local/regional rail throughout all of Germany for 49€/calendar month using the "Deutschlandticket".
Also, the massive delays are on the national rail network, not the local city rail/bus networks. Here in the UK, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th biggest European cities with no local underground rail network of any kind until the Belgrade metro opens its first 2 lines at the end of the decade.
Germany has about 20 cities with an underground or underground/tram hybrid network and about 60 cities with surface trams and many of these networks go all over town, while Birmingham has a single tram line and no underground at all despite having over 1 million citizens, leaving most neighbourhoods only accessible by bus. Cologne, having a similar population has 10 light rail lines which drive down a ramp to become tube lines in the inner parts of the city and most homes and businesses are a short walk from a stop.
Oh, I didn't know that at all... I imagine living in cities like Birmingham when only buses are the only public transport system is extremely stressful!
With most things he is right on the money, but not the political part. 😅 There are quite different views in between Parties, say, for example, the Bavarian CSU and the Green Party (which is left leaning, but less than the SPD).
i'd say most parties are rather left and trying to lean into the middle while others go full on left. and then there is the far-right AFD
Seriously, the toilet paper! I find this terrible, too. During the Covid pandemic, there was even a scarcity in toilet paper, everybody bought what they could get, and eventually, there was even rationing, like every person was only allowed to buy one pack per week or so... Ridiculous. It was a big thing, it even made headlines in the news... What's wrong with people? We have more than enough water, and soap is very easy to come by. But most people don't even think about washing themselves after going to the toilet. They've only recently learned to wash their hands, here. Don't ask too much! 🤣
Considering that this is a rather recent video, I'm wondering where he got his information regarding how/where teachers can teach. While it is true that the schools in former Western Germany, and especially in Bavaria, have somewhat higher standards than those in the East of the country, teaching degrees are usually recognized across all states as of now (this was different till a couple of years ago, but long outdated as of the recording of this video). There are some restrictions when it comes to the "Referendariat", which is the preparatory service all teachers have to go through after finishing university and where they have a mixed schedule of further training and regular teaching for about 1.5 years; some states for example will only allow applicants who graduated in the same state for their preparatory services. But once you're finished, you are pretty much allowed to apply wherever you want. Whether the school takes you or not, is another issue. There ARE however restrictions once you choose to transgress from being an "employed" teacher to being a "(state) official" teacher. In that case the state has sovereignty over you and you are not really allowed to switch schools anymore, unless the state orders you too.
I agree that dog tax is totally unfair. Car owners, for example, have to pay for the emissions their vehicles cause. Dog owners don't. So I suggest the following:
First, we will found a Joint Dog Experts Group (JDEG). This committee will then work out tables based on breed and weight of dogs how much CO2, methane, and dog poo these animals emit and divide them into 10 different tax classes. Dog owners will then have to pay an additional tax according to the JDEG Class their animal falls into. Furthermore, similar to the mandatory technical inspection of cars, dogs will have to be re-weighed annually by a certified authority (for a high fee, of course) to re-determine their tax class. Multiple failure to appear at the examination will result in confiscation of the dog and it being sold to China. -- If this law doesn't drastically reduce the number of dogs in big cities, I'll come up with some more nice ideas, like allowing the limited use of guns for dog hunts on special occasions. Sure would be fun for those who would like to have a "real" hunting license but can't afford one.
Another great reaction video by Dwayne - nothing to complain here.
Greetings from northern Germany ♥️🇩🇪
He is mostly right, but his political view is not very educated. Funny to see him the most German thing: complaining, complaining, complaining. 😆The thing I as a German like to complain too, is: Bureaucracy kills innovation. Nearly every famous, big, life-changing inventions is old. As you also said, Dwayne, innovation is important and Germany has lost a lot of his power. But after all, compared to many other countries, we should be lucky to live here.
The problem is the Wifi signal. All of the European and other bigger countrys around Germany use horizontal signals accept of Germany. They uses vertical signals. You can sit in your car in Dortmund and can listen to a dutch radio broadcast (from Dortmund to the Netherlands is close to 150 km straight line). You sit on a train and try to surf around and the Deutsche Bahn can´t provide you Internet because they drove to fast. They advertise with high speed connection but the reality looks different ´cause over 200 km/h the signal cant reach the transmitter/receiver any more. We tested it by ourselves and drive faster than 200 km/h on the Autobahn and we lost the signal. Even the normal cellphone signal get lost. And for home Internet it doesn´t look better.
i dont want to argue, just saying, the Landlords are in Control of the kitchen and bumgun Situation, and most people live for rent. Like per example our house was build last Century, no insulation for the walls, no modern Radiators, no place for a washmashine, even after a recent renovation, the Landlord just replaced the old with the same outdated Equipment. 😅
I disagree about the kitchens. As someone who loves cooking and who has a lot of gadgets, I loved the fact that my first flat did not have a crappy, old, used kitchen with drooping hinges and dingy, sticky cabinets as I had experienced moving into several apartments in the U.S. previously. I was able to get a gas stove instead of an electric one, I had new hygienic cabinets in colors I liked, not something the landlord or a previous renter chose for the cheapest price 20 years ago… I was able to fit in my washing machine, a fridge the size I liked and at the level I liked (I hate stooping over to fetch milk out of the fridge, f.e.), etc. I’d much rather purchase my own kitchen (unless we are talking student apartments, which one lives in for maybe two years only) than live in the crap others like, but I may hate….
I agree!!!
I haven't really had a kitchen for 7 years. Just a two-door cupboard with a worktop on it, a mobile hotplate, a small fridge and a mini oven. For me and my son!
The fact that there is no kitchen in the rented apartment is stupid, but on the other hand it's great if you can choose the kitchen you want in your apartment!
Yorkshireman living in Germany?
Germans are not afraid to complain, so it just seems they complain alot. The bus came 1min late the other day and the lady infront of me complained 😂 My train was delayed due to a "grizzly" incident and I missed my connection, instead of waiting another hour the ticket office gave me a 1st class ticket for a fast ICE train. In the UK Dog licences were scrapped in 1987, bureaucracy is long winded and germany is very slow and cautious to jump on new ideas (if it ain't broke don't fix it!) Hospitals have amazing equipment and facilities, but in my experience care of patients has been sadly lacking and doctor's ask you to phone and find a specialist which is annoying, can't tell you how many I've been refused services for! 😮💨 Still love the place though?😊
At 20:10 something happened outside the window
Sorry, but that „Radical Living“-guy is just an annoying troll…
Troll is probably not the right word. But the way he speaks and his pronunciation... it's really hard for me listening to him, it literally makes me aggressiv.
@@danielw.2442 Well, his content is overblown beyond any reasonable proportion, too… I‘ve seen three reaction videos on that guy’s videos, and I find it very unsettling that people watch this attention-whoring BS content… and even take it seriously. This time, I had to stop watching the moment I heard that troll‘s voice…
Don't believe everything that guy from the video is claiming. Not everything he states is true or factual. Also, he is quite biased and his attitude is more CONTRA than PRO without explaining the backgrounds of things.
It’s not all the time you have to bye your own kitchen,I moved 3 times and I never bought a kitchen
Church tax is only paid by those who are members of the Protestant or Catholic Church. Other denominations or non-denominational groups do not pay this tax. Main consequences of not being a Christian denomination: You can't be married in church and you can't get a church funeral. This means you will only be married in a civil ceremony and the funeral will be a little more expensive.
How does he know about teaching methods? Is he ateacher or going to school every day? I am a teacher and I think a lot of methods and equipment has been changed in the last twenty years. My school is fully digitalized and there are more than enough laptops etc. And even the Wifi works... But Germany love to complain - even you tubers do so.
I think the problem is, that there aren't country-wide standards, because the states are responsible, when it comes to educational stuff and financing it.
While the school you work at might be modern etc. there are still a lot of schools that don't meet the requirements for proper digitalization.
To get an idea of how it is nowadays you don't have to be a teacher or a pupil yourself....it's enough to be a parent or just talk to those who are.
It's not the same everywhere. Some schools are perfectly fine, some are still living in the stone ages digitalizion-wise.
Yes, I am so with you when you comes to toilets. I would so much love to have a bede or some other way to clean myself with water. Weed is stricktly speaking not legal but decrimilaized. You can have up to 25 g of weed on you and 50 gram at home. You can even have plants. But selling it is still illegal. Well if you aren't a member of a church you don't pay churchtaxes. But they still get so much funding through other taxes as well, it's insane. I would so love the goverment giving the churches money and not getting really anything in return, because even the religious institutions like hospitals, kindergartens and what not are funded by 90 % by the state anyway. But they are allowed to impliment a way worse workers law. Yes, that really needs to go.
Why don't you react to comments anymore?
My niece moved to Japan last year to start a startup company. Tomorrow she is moving into a new apartment. She did this mainly because her company would not have been able to survive in Germany. It's about instend Sea foot
Doctors: Imagine that there are a lot of citizens of neighboring countries coming to Germany for treatment. When GB was part of the EU there were lots of British! And those were not privately paying! Your medical services did.
church tax.....if you dont belong to a church , you dont pay taxes but you can imagine how many young people just leaving the church and dont pay taxes for it nowadays
Germans always complain about taxes and talk about how much higher they are then elsewhere. But in an objective comparison to other countries they are about average (for most people), even in the fact that they hurt below average earners more than above average earners. Often however the "Sozialabgaben" (compulsory health, pension and employment insurances) are rather high and often thought of as "tax" - but they are not, they are only obligatory, and they offer also more value per money than many non-compulsory insurances in other countries. They could be less high however if high-earners were not allowed to leave the compulsory insurances in favor of private insurances.
Teaching methods: Some states have them updated more than others. But parents are often opposed to reforms, and conservatives have in any case to be opposed to them. Actually the federal system has allowed some states to make some reforms, which would not been able to be set in motion with a central system because of that opposition. But the real problem with the federal system is that the federal government gets nearly all the tax money and the states do have always too little money to get all their tasks done. And the municipalities have even less money, which is why many school buildings are desolate (the municipalities have to pay for the buildings, the state pays the teachers and coordinates the curricula and the exams with the other states).
4:40 Due to a lack of teachers the states currently compete for teachers. Bavaria was heavily criticized last year for a bonus program for teachers accepting a post in a region with a disproportionally high lack in teachers, but only about 35 teachers from outside Bavaria took the bait. Other states also do try to recruit teachers from "abroad". So it is possible for teachers to switch states, and it happens also often in the border regions, but rather rarely between more distant states, for very different reasons. He is a bit over-simplifying here.
5:10 There is no "internet coverage" - that term is nonsensical. But there are some problems with connectivity in Germany. In many regions the wired network is underdeveloped and slow, because back in the 1980s the conservative post and telecommunications minister decided to favor copper cables over fibre optics and only then privatized the telecommunications agency, the Telekom. All those cables have now to be replaced, and some rural regions are still missing a high-speed cable connection at all (while at the same time the demand has grown exponentially). The wifi coverage is very spotty - very good in some places, where multiple operators compete with another, mediocre in other places and very low in most rural regions, because not economically viable for most suppliers. And since the operators do each also lay their own cables, the same spottiness evolves with the wired network.
Thai Video is dated when it comes to the political athmosphere
Nowadays our government is way mor progressive but this might change in 2025 again
Thank you for travelling with Deutsche Bahn😂(late +80 minutes )
Oh wow I hadn't seen that video before
So his politics take is completely out there
Yes Germans are generally conservative, meaning they cast their vote for centre-right to centre-left parties.
And while you can argue how similar the two traditionally big parties are (Social Democrats and Christian Conservatives) they are definitely not the same.
There are obviously various parties that have various ideologies behind them.
If he wants to more extreme parties like Stalinists, Maoists, Libertarians, Nazis, Technocrats etc he can do that.
No one is stopping him.
Dog tax is not a big deal.
Its something like 10€ per month and goes back centuries to fill the coffers of the local municipality.
If anything there should also be a Cat tax.
Church tax is a misnomer and nonissue.
There is no Church tax in that the state taxes you for your Church membership.
Various institutions in Germany are a so called KdöR (Corporate body under public law), the state gives them the option to collect their membership fees for them and then obviously give them the money.
This happens automatically every month when you are paid.
People like him like to whine about it because their parents made the decision to enrol them into Christianity and then they didn't leave and just continued to whine.
Every person can leave their Religion at the age of 14, I for example did exactly that.
Yes there is a small fee, but my parents paid for it and after you earn your own money the fee is another nonissue.
Leaving suffers under the same issue as the rest of the digitalisation drama, meaning you have to physically go to a place to leave your religion.
His take about working contracts, innovation and all that jazz sounds like the typical stuff you hear from people who move to the US or some other tax haven.
No no of course not because they have a problem with social services etc, they just don't want to pay for anything of it.
Also innovation.
Till the 50s we were up there huh?
Yeah I wonder what might've happened in the 40s that put a dent on all of that.
I wonder which highly assimilated and educated group of people fled the country or were put on trains to the east into "work camps".
What a thing to whine about.
Hi - was about to write my own coment to explain the blatant generalisations and exaggeration in the video Dwayne's Lens is watching, but this comment collects them too well. - Greetings Juy Juka
I've watched a few videos on that guy's channel and came to the conclusion that he is a complete idiot. Uninformed BS and somethimes blatant lies just for the clicks.
Sad but true, all these facts about education. We were better and famous decades ago.
I never paid church tax
yes you did and are still doing. Because... what even most Germans do not know: There is not only the church tax which is taken from the church itself. Our Government takes taxes from each an every German, no matter if in a church or not.
(Quelle:www.deutschlandfunkkultur.de/kirche-finanzierung-staatsleistungen-100.html)
There are lot of sources where you can find this fact when asking google. Search "Staatsleistungen"!
Here in Denmark, we had the same school system as the German. It was put down in 1975-1978. I was in the last class under the old system. Our system now, is very flexible, we have reforms on the school system regularly. In that way, it can be adjusted to the time we live in. No old crap.
We went 100% digital 10 years ago.
It takes 10 minutes to start a company. You do it online.
We have something cool that is called Germany Ticket " Deutschland Ticket and for about 50 Euro monthly you can travel the whole of Germany by train. If this is not cheap then I don't know what is? Actually it is amazing that it gives Germans the opportunity to travel thrue their own country cheaply. The Bad Thing about it is that because it is so cheap that the German Train Company is giving less Service. More people are using the train and it got cheaper so I guess they try to handle everything with paying less worker. We can not have it All sometimes.
1. I like a kitchen, that covers my needs and 2. Germans generally move less as it is in other countries and are very setteled. If they move their kitchen are relativley old. No one would have it.
One reason why its not allowed to use a metal detector without a permit in certain areas is that you could find an old bomb from the world war and blow yourself up.
i give him most of his points but the examples he made for overregulation are kinda cringe. like i swear i would HATE to not require a fishing license. there are obvious reasons why a country should have an entry barrier to farming public ressources. additionally ofc regulations make it harder to found a business but if your idea is worth it, it really is a rewarding system which also has ways to heavily reduce taxrate (which he critiqued before) so ofc there is alot of mechanisms (especially with governmental structures) working behind all those forms. kinda sucks but there is enough information out there. there are other points of overregulation than this ^^.
Luckily, with the help of the €49 monthly ticket, the complicated ticket system is a thing of the past. (for those who use the monthly ticket)
Unfortunately, the railway transport network has been destroyed over the last 50 years. And the public transport authorities and DB (Deutsche Bahn) continue to invest only minimally. (in the area of long-distance transport they are slightly better)
And since the short 9€ monthly ticket phase in 2022, they should have been aware that a massive investment would be needed in order to be able to offer more optimal public transport.
Your export to Germany should no longer be allowed under the law! ;) Since it is enshrined in the law that you can only use what you have grown yourself, unless you are in one of the official clubs, within which you can sell/buy. (I understood it like that)
When it comes to schools, I can only agree with him... I'm one of those people who has been upset for years that nothing has really changed in schools for 100 years. There may have been some innovations in terms of teaching subjects and more modern resources. And it has been the case for years that the education system should supposedly be an education for sustainable development. But it seems to me that the politicians and those responsible for the education system themselves have not understood what that means!
Our political parties are not all "right-wing" or "conservative". It's rather the opposite: All parties are either center, center-left or left-wing, except for the AfD, which all the others are constantly bashing on. But they're also part of the political spectrum and have their voters (and they're gaining more and more with every election, because the current government as well as the 4 Merkel cabinets before mess(ed) things up.
His complaining about licences silly! I´m happy that you can´t just cut trees, or fish, just because you want to. He is behaving like kid! - With the German laws it is very hard to get rid of lodgers, even if they damage your property or don´t pay the rent. They might even damage the kitchen and you would have to buy them a new one. I had lodgers who didn´t pay, caused damage, ripped the kitchen out, and never paid anything afterwards. So I had to sell the house with a massive loss.
Even in Berlin you have no internet with your phone in some areas.
So when it comes it dog tax I'm happy to pay it. Where I live the town provides dog owners with dog parks and "poo-stations" where you can throw away your dogs poo and take new bags with you for free. Maybe the amount is debatable or what kind of pets should be taxed or in what way the city should build "pet-infrastructure" - but since there is a basic infrastructure for dog owners, I can see the reasoning that those without a dog shouldn't carry that costs.
It has the highest income Tax in the EU. Yes Taxes are high and nearly on everything except air (yet)
Yeah, dogs are more treated like a "thing" and not living beings... Which I hate. I do have a dog, so I pay taxes. If they used the money for animal shelters or something else related to animals, then I would gladly pay. But they use it for anything but animals.
There are also people who say "I pay tax, so I don't have to remove my dog's poop" - which is a ridiculous believe.
He is superfiscial and lies too much.
we also pay inheritance tax, sex tax (prostitutes), air tax (in a city called Fürth), and sparkling wine tax
Marijuana has not really been legalized in Germany. it was just decriminalized
It's not only a decriminalization. It's a part-legalization. If it would be only a decriminalization, you couldn't grow weed legally or gain it at Cannabis Social Clubs.
3:10... Still 2 spots above us.
5:00... I bet our internet is slower than Germany's.
PISA: different to other nations, Germany does the tests in normal classes, having immigrant children. Thus the niveau is lower.
I don't want to be presented with a kitchen that someone else has chosen. There's a good chance I wouldn't like it, and then I'd have to rip it out and throw it away before I could install one of my own choosing. (Which would be both expensive and environmentally damaging.) Or I would have to live with a kitchen that I find ugly or impractical for many years.
Dog tax is common in other European countries as well
I don't have a modern toilet, but I have banned toilet paper from my toilet. Water is much more effective!😁
30:32 To clear streets and hiking trails of dog excrement.
The speciaist thing acutally happened to me...
Had intestinal-issues and they thought it might be due to it being inflamed. Needed to wait 4 months for my appointment and the doctor could only tell me, that he can't tell me anything, as he can only find out what it is, when I have the symptoms. I was miserable for months until it got better and it was kind of a waste of time in the end for me and the doctor, as he couldn't help me anymore, after it was gone by itself...
Waited a year for my teeth-operation under anaesthetic as well
Only thing that seems even worse is finding an appointment with a therapist. Looking for close to 9 months now, and still haven't found anywhere that even takes new patients
I get the notion , that there is a strategy of the right wing parties to talk down Germany as to shy off immigrants they want to expell by any method.
All we have is old brands that still try to avoid progress.
I belonged to the catholic church until three years ago. Since I found the continuous ignoring of all the misdeeds happening not to my liking, and since my fatih was more of a habit than a belief, I left the church and by doing that in the office of my "Bürgeramt" a municipal office, I also stopped paying church taxes. I got a letter from the curch acknowleding my leaving and that I was erased from their register so nothing will ever be collected again. As long as I do not join a faith that has ties to the government or an arrangement for collecting fees in form of taxes I do not have to pay any faith anything.
When the bum gun has washed you, how do you get dried?
I've wondered this too. I think the Japanese toilets with the built-in bidet have a soapy water function, a rinse function and a dryer function but I'm not sure if the bum gun can switch modes like that.
the taxes in germany are ridiculously high! pay much, get less.
Just has complained about toilet-paper then wants to use other people's kitchens to prepare his food. That doesn't compute.
Train-infrastructure is not good it's nearly totally worn out and it has lost 30% of its tracks in the last 35 years. That's the cause for delays.
Doctors are paid a fixed case-premium per 3 months and punished for taking too many patients by limitations to this budget. That's why it is so diffcult to see a specialist.
There are too few primary school teachers now, so of course you can change states
Well, you can opt-out church-tax, but it comes with some disadvatanges, like you cannot marry in a christian church anymore or get a grave on a christian cemetery or other things (If I'm not misinformed).
Actually, it is the owners who pay the tax, not the dogs. 😅
I never really understood the reasons for dog tax. If it was a general animal tax (maybe based on size), yes, but why should a small dog be taxed, but not an equally sized cat?
I can answer that kitchen-question: if the kitchen is included in the rent, the owner of the apartment has to pay for damaged stoves/ovens or dishwashers etc and most owners don't want that or sometimes can't even afford it. Because there are some really bad tenants, too.
The Deutsche Bahn are simply bad in themselves and THEY should provide the Internet in it. But they can't manage it. And all providers have cables on the railroad lines! They are simply incompetent. I live almost in the village and have a fiber optic line with 1000 Mbit and zero problems with the Internet. I also have 5G reception when I want it. So the internet isn't that bad.
Feudalism is important and it's good that it exists. A fundamentally better coordination would only have to be created in certain areas so that there is again a sufficiently tangible common denominator within the federal government.
There are European elections in just a few weeks. (Unfortunately it's no longer relevant for you, since you can no longer vote) I then looked into the parties that would be suitable for me. among others with the “Volt” party, which sees itself as socialist liberal. However, they want to abolish veto rights for the individual EU countries. But the right of veto is an element of liberality. Therefore, the party itself is completely contradictory.
My point is. Federalism prevents dictatorships.
But now based on the EU level. It is not the abolition of the veto right that makes sense, but rather a renewal of the veto right is more appropriate. Because a democracy based purely on majority rule is ultimately a majority rule dictatorship. If democracy happens with the help of consensus solutions, it is democracy. This would probably have prevented Brexit!
Overhearing people ? There has to be a juridical decision before, thus there has to be a really verified reason to do so. That is not easily gotten !
He purposely changed facts or let some of them out.
We must pay ca.55% tax, thats the only way that everyone can survive. greetings froom Bavaria
What is this guy talking about and got his information from?
put parties have VERY DIFFERENT views. recently, though, the government struggled because we are being governed by a three-party coalition, which means they have to negotiate and compromise a LOT to get laws fixed and not lose their face at the same time. It is a give and take situation, which will improve again, once a different government is in place. And, no, we are not overly conservative. The right wing parties are, the left wing parties are not. Even Merkel (representing the CDU, the “Christian” conservatives), for all her 16 years in office, would align politically slightly right of Bernie Sanders in the U.S., where he is seen as being a bit short of being a commie…
Only the forbidden NPD and now the AfD are further right (and the AfD is closely monitored for being systematically fascist in large pockets). Dog tax was introduced when people were not cleaning up after their dogs. How they justify it nowadays, I have no idea.
I am an atheist and have officially left the church, so I am not (or no longer) paying taxes (at least not directly) (and the tax is essentially just a collection for the churches, not the state taxing you for being in a church). However, a good bunch of regular taxes (including my atheist ones) also go into church subsidizing, something that is not talked about enough, I feel!
I moved 6 times in my live and never had to buy a kitchen!
Right now I live at the azz of the world in the mountains (Allgäu) and I have fiberglass Internet, no complaints there!
For the regulations, for me it makes sense. Fishing for example, there is a lot to learn to do it properly! If everyone could just do what ever he/she wants it would be chaos.
About the toilet thing, I have a water and soap spray for the paper after cleaning after number 2 😂
For the school, I'm from Bavaria it's not too bad here, it could be modernized!
Also I'm self employed, that wasn't that hard to do the paperwork. We could modernize this, sure. It's annoying, German state offices don't know emails.
The kitchen issue......... yesssss! I moved 15 times in my life and only had to buy a kitchen once. Though I see that it is a regional thing...... there are regions where it is easier to find a flat with a kitchen included and some where it is the exception. And it also is a matter of time spirit. It was more normal in my youth (60ies to 80ies) than it is nowadays.
Saxonia reached the highest level in the current Bildungsmonitor. Thuringia comes in third. Bremen is last.
What he calls taxes includes social security! And church tax is a relict of the times when all clerical possesions were confiscated. The clergy is payed by that money and kindergardens and hospitals run by the Christian Churches. Other religions and their members don’t have to pay this tax.
Its not legal, there are just some exceptions for being punished for growing, consume and possesion.
Its also not no problem for start a company, but it can be very difficult to get money or investors for it...
oh my, I didn't even know about the history of our schooling system and all the regulations. I would love to learn about the british system.
But about the kitchens, I wouldn't wanna use a kitchen that is installed already. How old might that be, or who knows what the people before me did in that kitchen. No thanks, I'd rather bring my own in the style that I like.
But he is wrong about the political part.
well, losing toilet paper and replacing it with button showers would ALSO save trees. Less paper, less cutting down. still a big portion of todays available toilet paper is not recycled.
And for the kitchen. yes, some or many people inside and especially outside of Germany will shake their heads and wonder, why? why would you not want to have a kitchen pre insalled in your home?
well, apparently - and here by sorry for the prejudices and presumptions applied, some of his viewers including himself - as a matter of fact, seem to be the type of person to NOT REALLY make use of ones or their kitchens. because, if he or they were, they would understand that when you use a kitchen, the cabinets, the oven, the fridge for - lets say 5-6 years as an average example, it´s just filthy afterwords. even IF you do regular cleaning, even IF you do regular intense leaning in the kitchen ( again, as a person who actually makes use of it and Cookes regularly) it will still get greasy and dark and dirty in parts. And then follows the logical question: should anyone rather deep clean ( which I doubt is applicable for these types, or in fact any type of kitchen if not made of stainless steel) or should you just get a new one to pretty(argueably) reasonable prices?
I just want to sum up. As a cook ( home cook) I understand the lets call it "tradition"
No, our parties are not all leaning right!
Dog Tax and Horse tax. That is a fee going directly to the town you live in. Cleaning streets, dog parks….
I want my own kitchen. I would not cook in a used one.....
What? But you are fine to poop on toilets that others did?
One of his last points, about the government seeking favorable News... no, that is his political opinion.
I defenetly disagree with his politics part. There is a big difference between the party leaning. But germans tend to elect the most conservativ options when it comes to the majorities.
Same with his point of politics holding back media... Its a very biased view of him.
This ia a weird conglomerate of lets call it "facts taken out of context" with a bit of tweak towards the worse ... typically we pay around 14-30% staggered taxes on incomes below 50000€ if you earn above 200,000€ it can stack up to 45% ... but then you usually have a lot of deductables like most of what you pay for health and pension insurance, whatever you pay to get to and from work. If you are a couple and one earns a lot and the other little there will a much lower mixed tax called "Ehegattensplitting" etc. Of course there is VAT of 19% that is the same for everyone. Just checked it is currently 20% in the UK ^^
Church Tax nowadays is actually a membership fee. It is only collected with the tax for convenience. If you do not belong to any accepted religious group you do not pay it at all. It is 10% of what you pay for income tax and is historically based on the medieval "Tenth Part that was holy to god" and given to the church based on the Old Testament/Bible.
I really love that we do not have Kitchens in rental flats. They would be horrible, unhygenic aso. I would always exchange the fridge and oven because you never know what types of mould the previous owner left in them .... yukky brrrrrrrrrrrr
As a student, five of us rented a furnished house in the US and the furniture was like from a garbage place. Horrific! Rent was not so cheap either compared to Germany but ok for the US ... We definitely bought a new refrigerator and in the end donated it to the owner.
A lot of structures in Germany grew from historic backgrounds ... Sadly the Deutsche Post held the monopoly on everything Telecommunication up until they split of the Telekom. That is why the internet is still in its infancy ... even separate companies are still dependent on services and infrastructure provided by the German Telekom. It is different for countries that were a clean slate to begin with when telecommunication became a thing ^^
Same goes for the train system which is at least still partially government owned. The partial privatization basically ruined it I believe. Also we have a really complicated spiderweb of connections that always ends in cascading failure if one connecting train is late. The margins are really too tight. I dream of the Japanese way of having an eastern and western line along the whole country and interconnecting separate trains. But restructuring the existing track system would surely be close to impossible.
Schools are very versatile in Germany and you can always freely switch to a higher school if you have the talent or interest. "Gymnasium" does not have to do anything with specific sports but is our Junior/Senior High School (based on the Greek word "Gymnasion" a training school that covered bodily and spiritual/philosophical education for men and as such was limited to men up until the mid 19th century).
Splitting up children is to prevent frustration and failure because kids can't keep up with the others. So based on the performance in primary/elementary school there will be recommendations that the parents can accept or not. We do have free choice of education ... so even if your kid was bad at elementary school level you could send it to higher education at your own discretion ... not sure it would do your kid any good and you might not find any accepting school ^^
There are plenty of secondary education paths you could take and even if you come from a lower school branch you can eventually enter University if you wish to.
Of course the system has its flaws and the difference in northern and southern states is sadly obvious.
Dog Tax is a local tax that is partial to the city or community you live in. It goes towards local infrastructure, street cleaning and such. Historically there were various reasons for its introduction. It was also used to regulate dog breeding and leave this passion to the upper class as a luxury. Working dog breeds were alsways exempt. It was also a way to monitor/limit the dog population because of rabies outbreaks. ... so his comment why this does not go to improve the Internet felt strangely out of place.
Just my 2 cents ^^ and thanks for this reaction to a rather strange and polarizing video ... wonder if anyone reads this at all ^^
So my tax return for 2022 was great... it probably won't look so good for 2023, with a refund, but it's not that bad.
I think taxes themselves are poorly distributed in Germany. The top salary starts far too early because of high taxes and when it comes to the rich, Germany is far too considerate.
The taxes themselves are all okay for me so far... what perhaps bothers me a bit is the CO² tax, which I find completely nonsense when it comes to sustainable practices!
and the guy in the video is pretty tiring to watch! Pff 😅
We legalized it, because the conservative CDU is in opposition now
That guys statements regarding the the state of schools in east Germany is just incorrect.
I am using my bathtub as bidet.
Sorry, but our news are mostly not influenced. He has totally no knowledge about this topic (politics etc.). And we pay taxes and socila insurances about 50-60 % not 70. PS Dog taxes depends on the local authority.
that Guy is nuts. he brings up in all cases the highest taxes or else. not all pays the highest.
and by the way, if Germany is really that bad, why do he leave it and see if other countries are "so much" better than Germany.
Dwayne you really found the worst Video to get a overview of Germany. you had way better in other reactions.
What that guy said in the end is ture, and he is one of the biggest complainers i would say.
Where can I get a license for having fun? 🤔
This guy is spreading a bunch of over-generalisations and blatant lies just for the clicks. Won't go into details here cause I don't even know where to start, but seriously, ignore his channel in the future.
