The "teeth" that the pcv valve threads onto in the valve cover on my explorer have broken off previously. How would I keep it in without those locking teeth?
Honestly the right way would be to replace the valve cover since the threads are built into the valve cover. The quick and dirty way to do it would be to put some oil resistant rtv on the new valve near the oring and push it into the hole in the valve cover and let it fully dry. Once it’s dry then put it all back together. This should work for a while at least until it can be fixed properly.
watching your video sure helped in replacing the pvc valve on my ranger, thanks.
Glad it helped! That’s why I make these videos!

Did this fix your idle issues
Yes it did fix my idle issues and the light smoking from the tailpipe.
