I love that you're honest about your first impression vs your current review. Giving fragrances time is key, you're so right. Thanks for this video Marc. Thumbs up.
great take ofcourse as usual, but you didnt get any lavender at all?i got little suited up version of le male in this for like an hour, very clean and not daring in any way,le male is...which is why i love le male still :) great blend though :) thanks for a long review, missed those
These are the reviews that I look forward to, you're hard work shines through this review. Well done. I've got about 15 ml left and will have to decide if I want to repurchase or not.
I'm glad you smell Joop in this too, no reviews seem to mention that and I thought I was going a bit mad. I detected some sweet cinnamon in it and I was like "hmmm, where do I know this from?" and had to go way into my collection until I finally picked up Joop and was pretty shocked. It's obviously not the same as Joop but I think if you tasked Daniela Andrier with creating a modern twist on that I could totally see Reflection Man being what she came up with, it does smell like Prada does Joop to me. I won't be buying a full bottle I love Infusion D'Homme and in the times I'd wear Reflection Man I would wear that but this is a good scent and I would get it if I didn't have 200ml+ of the Prada!
Marc thank you for doing this fragrance justice! So much depth, you left nothing untouched regarding the nuances of Reflection Man. Kudos to you! Five star review in my opinion.
robes08 I don't get the Joop Homme and Original Santal comparison, but you made me curious. I'm not a fan of those two fragrances yet I adore Reflection Man. You have a great nose though, so I'll revisit those fragrances. I enjoyed your review, keep it up!
So cool to be able to go back and hear these older reviews. So I finally tested Reflection Man and didn’t understand the Le Male reference but immediately could see a comparison to Original Santal. You’re the best not only OG but best reviewer!!
Thanks for the review. I've been waiting for this review for a long time. your rating is so fair. I have 250 ml of vintage reflection (2.5 bottles). It is slightly better than the one in the market nowdays. It is in my top 5 along with dior homme intense vintage, Asrar attar from amouage, Creed silver mountain water and tomford nior extreme reformulated. your analysis is too deep and informative. thanks again.
Great video as usual love your break down of fragrances it's so unique keep it going. I love refection man along with journey man smells very luxurious love the house of amouge not sure where or what to try next suggestions welocome
I knew RM And OS in the same Day. I was wearing RM and then I put some OS on the arm just to test it. The mix was so good that I use to combine the two with 2 sprays of OS on the chest and 2 of RM on the neck. They are really in the same vibe. Your review about this fragrance was the most interesting that I saw, Marc. Congratulations
Awesome review. Reflection was my intro into the Amouage house. Absolutely loved it... then I pleasantly discovered the blue beast and Jubilation. Reflection kind of took a back seat to the darker, more complex incense offerings of Amouage but I still love the scent for what it is and find myself reaching for it often. A lot of the "laundry" scents tend to give me headaches (migraines unfortunately), but Reflection is balanced well enough that it keeps my noggin in a good frame of mind.
I will say that this is the best Reflection Man review I have seen. The way you described this is could not have been more spot on. The way you described the scent, is exactly how this smells. Not many people are this accurate.
Reflection reminds me of One Million Absolutely Gold, do you also get that or is it just me? Nobody seems to have picked up on it. Also robes08, do you plan on reviewing the Reflection 45 as well at some point?
Hey Brother! I have a Vintage Version too (2015) but it has a Magnetic cap, is that legit? Or when was the magnetic-cap change? Also my Batchcode is like on a circle plastic sticker, is that right? Very Kind regards!
Robes08 layer Reflection Man and Original Santal. I layered Santal and Bvlgari Man In Black and it was awesome. I'm going to try the other two because I have both. Let me know what you think. Peace
Marc, without including attars what are your top 5 Amouages? This is def in my top 5 Amouage. I love the scent and it performs like crazy on my skin. Would love to know what your 5 from this house look like.
Its funny you say that reflection man smells like joop/original santal. I remember smelling reflection man at work on a colleague and when I asked what he wore he advised it was joop. When i spray joop I do not get any resemblance. I thought it was me that noticed this.
Reflection Man is a very special perfume, beautiful! The smell never reminded me of Le Male, old woman or something bad. For me this fragrance has one of the most unique masculine floral blend in the best pozitive way. At first I was not blown away, but the second time I tried it on a sunny spring time, Reflection Man became for me one of the best spring perfume that I need to buy. I still wait for the time when I will have the money to buy a bottle. Great review!
Another great review. I fell in love with reflection man but was not thrilled with the longevity I was getting. Fortunately I gave DUA Desert Reflection a shot and it smells identical but performs better!
. I stumbled across a random sample of this back in 2009 or so and it reminded me a little of niche version of le male...or mont blanc individuel.. I sent the sucker to Hirozuka cause i thought he would like it... He did and put up a video review and people on youtube started talking about it... Since then I was waiting for your take on it hahah. 2016 the day has come! Sure its a review of the vintage formulation, but that is when this fragrance was at its best.. Al rehab and DUA have good clones of this scent.. great review! I would say reflection man reminds me of a few things.. Geirness, mont blanc individuel.. and le male.... sometimes it even reminds me of platinum egoiste at a certain stage. I think its great.. Classy, masculine, clean, spicy. slightly sweet. One of Amouages best for me.
Not my favorite Amouage either but it is lovely... I've never had anyone say that I smelled like I was wearing a woman's perfume while wearing this one BUT I think if one was a more 'metro' male that one could think that... Also I don't personally get the comparison to Joop or OS but to each his own nose... ^_^ Great job as always and thanks for the review...
Great review, keep up the good work. I agree that it is avalllable at retailers for 150 to 175 euro, but..........what i encountered is taht al the discounters are offering Amouage bottles without the perfum name on the collar of the atomizer. If anybody experienced the same, and can solve this riddle, please react. Are these bottles fakers?
Question: So I have a 100ml Vintage Reflection man I bought it 5 years ago. It's 99% full. If I try to sell it then can I ask more $ for it then the retail price of a current 100ml version or people don't give a f*ck about this older formulation stuff?
You can ask more. They smell the same, but the vintage (non magnetic cap) formulation has a much better longevity. I had the new formulation and I sold it because it didn't perform well especially when you think of the Amouage pricing. I bought a vintage bottle and it lasts 10-12 hours on my skin.
This review separates the men from the boys, I will rate this review 10/10. Topnotch no nonsense review. I think this is the best review of Robes08 for 2016!
spot on with the Original Santal comparison. if you took the spicey cinnamon out of original Santal, and added powdery jasmine, you'd pretty much have Reflection Man. the sandalwood is prominent in this one. the only thing that didn't sound spot on, was the performance being beast. I do have the magnetic cap Reflection and Interlude bottles. the magnetic Interlude is just a bomb that you don't fuck with. the magnetic Reflection man is a fragrance that I have to wear 8 sprays just to get noticed. I literally have to double tap the sprayer when I apply this which is unacceptable for a fragrance this expensive. I do love the scent but the performance kills it for me
I get a beautiful thick powdered jasmine in the opening . Oh, sooooo goood. I have the magnetic , and I have sampled the pre, the magnetic is still gorgeous , I just remember the pre lasting longer. That was some time ago though . I also love Amouage's Journey Man too. One neroli that I think the world of is Xerjoff's Casamorati 1888. When I wear Reflection Man people smile .
This video could be misleading for most people who might go on to buy this now as you don't talk about the reformulated version. Now most of us are not sure whether it's only the performance tht has changed or has even the scent changed? Basically we are stuck in the middle, whether to buy or not. Also how come IFRA don't have regulations banning fragrance tester's with earlier reformulation. People are easily tricked into buying a reformulated stuff with SA spraying vintage formula on to test strips. Atleast you reviewers could have helped us out by doing a side by side comparison. That would have made this a true complete take on Amouage Reflection man.
It smells like getting out of a chlorine filled swimming pool and putting on fresh clothes. Love it though, just bought it, altough I'm pretty sure nowadays it's not nearly as strong as the one you reviewed.
I got a sample of this from scentbird. I tried it and I honestly don't buy the hype for this one. The opening smells like crest toothpaste to me and after about an hour the performance is really crappy on my skin. I hear it's been reformulated too so that might be why, but I personally do not think It's worth the money and I think that interlude man and Jubilation XXV are much better offerings from Amouage.
Amouage Opus line does much better job on white flower theme to the point it is almost unbelievable what they do. Really complex strange compositions around flowers.. Reflection does really have more similarity with joop and original santal.
i've always wondered why there was even a comparison. its almost like people that cant afford it have convinced themselves that le male is a cheaper substitute
I love that you're honest about your first impression vs your current review. Giving fragrances time is key, you're so right. Thanks for this video Marc. Thumbs up.

there's no lavender in this scent. It uses the other florals (jasmine, neroli) and rosemary to make that theme
These are the reviews that I look forward to, you're hard work shines through this review. Well done. I've got about 15 ml left and will have to decide if I want to repurchase or not.
Thanks you Cornflake! I worked hard on this one and happy to see it's appreciated.
Fantastic review as always Marc! Such a great fragrance and I know with you loving Le Male I know this is a gem for you.
I'm glad you smell Joop in this too, no reviews seem to mention that and I thought I was going a bit mad. Nice review as usual! You are the best no doubt!
Marc thank you for doing this fragrance justice! So much depth, you left nothing untouched regarding the nuances of Reflection Man. Kudos to you! Five star review in my opinion.
Thank you very much, worked really hard on this one and happy to hear positive feedback
I've been waiting for this review for ages, since Reflection Man is my signature scent! Thank you Marc!
Hope I did it justice for you Mr Fox

I've watched a couple of videos on this already but yours definitely helped me take the plunge and buy it.
Love wearing the same scent that you're reviewing, makes me pick up on new notes and aspects of the fragrance. Good review!
Great video as usual love your break down of fragrances it's so unique keep it going.
I love refection man along with journey man smells very luxurious love the house of amouge not sure where or what to try next suggestions welocome
Thank you Mark for your take on this fragrance. I think you are spot on here. I particularly enjoy Reflection Man and yes it is unisex.
I knew RM And OS in the same Day. I was wearing RM and then I put some OS on the arm just to test it. Thank you King! I believe the amount of testing really helps these kind of reviews on my channel. Your words really put a smile on my face
Reflection reminds me of One Million Absolutely Gold, do you also get that or is it just me? Nobody seems to have picked up on it. Also robes08, do you plan on reviewing the Reflection 45 as well at some point?
I don't get the Abs. Gold reference but I'll check it out. I don't plan on reviewing 45 at this time since I don't have a bottle just yet.
Just got a sample of this one and really like the scent and agree with your review. Thanks!

Can you do an Molecule01 Review?

I just brought a reflection but the hologram is silver, should it be gold?
His is from 2010 or so bro, don‘t freak out. I think your‘s good to go! :)

It's sad how people have nothing better to do than dislike videos especially someone who's an OG in the community 🙏🏻
Lovin the review

Hey, how bad is the reformulation? I just ordered a 15ml decant of the new formulation.. hope I don't regret.
What do you think?
Dude, you are surgical. Great review Marc
Santal, totally! I also find it kind of similar to Montblanc Individuel and Creed's Original Santal
yes yes mark you r absolutely right .for my nose its very similar with mont blanc individuel not with le male
While Reflection Man is not my favorite Amouage, it is kinda awesome! Especially the drydown is to die for. Very good review!
This review separates the men from the boys, I will rate this review 10/10. Topnotch no nonsense review. I think this is the best review of Robes08 for 2016!
An absolutely essential part of my spring 'drobe.

I was really confused on the online sites when putting this review together that there was no mention. All I saw was Le Male.
I think it's pretty good but of all the 'versatile' scents that Amouage has, I believe Lyric Man is by far the best.
On my list of Amouages to get (other one is Lyric Man). Will be a blind buy though (based on reviews). Thank you Marc!
Thank you for tuning in!
I get a beautiful thick powdered jasmine in the opening . Oh, sooooo goood. I have the magnetic , and I have sampled the pre, the magnetic is still gorgeous , I just remember the pre lasting longer. i know you love le male...and this being a grown up le male..im very interested to watch this...pop corn check...drinks check...Baam...here we go :)
Great review.

been waiting for this one. only 25 minutes? oh well, I'll watch anyway. lol.
only 25 minutes lol, wow getting used to people complaining about the length this is a new comment that I enjoy
robes08 I for one enjoy your videos. I enjoy the 7 minute and the 45 minute vids too. keep them coming my friend.
It smells like getting out of a chlorine filled swimming pool and putting on fresh clothes. Love it though, just bought it, altough I'm pretty sure nowadays it's not nearly as strong as the one you reviewed.

with so much time being wasted with what´s new, what´s new, what´s new.. its good to see some "older" stars shining!
Hugs my friend!!
vmendonc V!!! Miss ya buddy on the tube. Thanks for stopping by
Amouage Opus line does much better job on white flower theme to the point it is almost unbelievable what they do. Really complex strange compositions around flowers.. Reflection does really have more similarity with joop and original santal.
it reminds me of Prada amber
why do you do reviews that last 20-30-40 minutes???
More sophisticated Le Male. Reform performance sucks. The original has pretty good projection and longevity.
Montblanc Individuel is like amouage RM
WOW! Pre reformulation juice is much darker.... sigh I have post reform :/
haha this smells nothing like le male
i've always wondered why there was even a comparison. its almost like people that cant afford it have convinced themselves that le male is a cheaper substitute
Right on point! +DMaster81
