Our puppy is trying to figure out how to keep both. Trading isn’t in his vocabulary.
My dog just stop playing and only try to get the treats 😂
Up the ante and substitute the toy for something else they like such as kibble, chew stick, socks, etc 😂
This is right on time, thank you. Makes sense too
Thats a clever method I hadnt seen done this way before. Thank you.
I will try this tomorrow and thank you because this is perfect! My dog loves treats! And won’t let the toy go.
Wow! She looks exactly like my Lab/Dane mix!! 😮
my lab too smart and he can get both to me.
what if i (adult, really relaxed, not interested in toys) never holds anything in her mouth? do i have to each hold first?
What if the dog is not toy motivated?
My boy loves treats, but smelling a handful of them doesn’t get him to let go… how to I lure him off of the toy if the smell doesn’t work?
Our new 3 year old foster Golden Retriever is not food oriented which is not like a Golden. She has never been taught, down or come or drop it. She also horrible on the leash. Any advice to give? Is she too old for Obedience classes? She has been used only for breeding.
No dog is too old to be trained. This is a myth. It's just harder than teaching a puppy
What about if the dog doesn't take the treat?
Try using another toy
My dog can trade a toy for a toy. He doesn't care about the threat..the only way that he drop..takes him time but..I make the play toy very boring..
What is your high value treat
