my experience with ranked as a fairly new player is, interesting, sometimes you get matched with people on your same league and sometimes with higher leagues that often lead to a win or close to, and a most of them know how to ping which helps the game go better but ive also, seen quite the toxic people more often in ranked than normal queue it can be kinda funny but yk anyway another great, funny informative video from Adritoma B)

I'm a Chloe one trick and I'm climbing! So far, I've played 55 ranked games and I've only encountered one slightly toxic Felix. The Eternal Return community seems to be a lot better than League of Lepers or HOTS. Those games were extremely toxic. Also, there's no need to be afraid of playing ranked. It's like normals but with a number. Everyone starts at Iron 4 which is the lowest of the low so there's nothing to lose.
haha yeah its better so far fingers crossed but yeah glad your climb has been chill and yeah iron is super nice that u can't lose RP!
I think it'll be way better than league overall, I myself am a toxic league player but it's very different to die be like "fk this game" then Q for another match than it is to die say "fk this game" have your team spam ping you and still have to spend another 20 to 40 minutes in said match 😂

I think Ive earned more LP solo queue-ing than premading ngl to me It's better since you get to meet so many new people with different playstyles and tendencies, the replayability of the game skyrockets that way .,,,sometimes it can be awful but when it clicks it feels extra good for some reason ROFL

I feel like solo queue climbing is definitely possible if you’re deserve to climb, you just kind of have to take a punch to the mouth every once in a while from the match making and keep going lol

i only play solo queue and ive been doing pretty good, considering i started a few weeks ago i got out of iron and im now at bronze 2 almost bronze 1, people normally dont chat much but its nice that theres not nearly as much toxicity compared to lol, every now and then an asshole ends up in your team but like you said, its an exception rather than the norm, so far the game has been very enjoyable solo

You make it sound like you don't play solo q at all. I thought you're forced to solo q past the certain rank.
I've been seeing plenty of games by itzLevi or SmugDragon to see what solo q truly is for high skilled players. It's just terrible most of the time, not because they can't climb, they can manage to turn games sometimes or lose less points but it just doesn't look that fun to me, I mean the whole experience uncoordinated random teammates. Maybe it works better in mobas because there are straightforward bbjectives and you basically stay on the spot the whole times unless you're a jungler. Or maybe it's because of a fact people got used to use voice chat in those games but it isn't the case in eternal return.
I know I don't have the same amount of skill / experience to carry out bad games or minimize loses so it feels like a coin flip rather than something you have influence over. Also the fact that high skill players love to smurf and make dozens of accounts to play at low elo doesn't really help but it's okay as long as they're not in 3 men stack about to hunt all new players in the lobby.
Even worse when you're playing off meta character or the one that needs strong front line protectors like estelle or lenox. I am not a strong players myself but often times my teammate thinks he can handle 2v3 when I am far behind him and third teammate is still crafting at kiosk (seriously nobody ever waits for other people who craft at kiosk. it's like some kind of disease where you can't stay still for a few seconds) or simply charges 1v2 or potenrially 1v3 because he probably thinks he can secure a kill and get away.
In other mobas you can continue the game but here past certain point you just die and force teammates to play a weird 1v3 or 2v3 game and spend credits to revive. In a sense it makes me glad there's cobalt protocol where you can train in team fights but balance wise it's a different game with very limited character choice.
I am about to give up on my main and switch to some self sufficient carry with escape mechanic or tank (at least I won't have a team of 3 squishes that way). Sometimes I am blessed with tanks but they don't really want to take care about backline and rush off to enemy backline. Maybe it's just me who misunderstands the tank role, I am not sure.

Yeah this was my first time doing ranked solo queue this season. I definitely see it having a lot of these issues but yeah I’m not mythril rank yet. When I am later in the season I’ll be forced to solo queue. But yeah I do think a lot of these issues are high elo specific but even in like play or diamond I think solo queue works pretty well. Like immortal probably suffers the most from solo queue because of how high the buy in is and how little mistakes can be made on the team

There’s been optimization issues but I’ve heard fixes I just can’t remember off the top of my head, if you submit a ticket or ask around on discord you might find the solution

Good for you then, i play in asia server and the only thing i can rely on comm is using ping system and sticker since i don't speak korean. But the good thing is that I don't know if they're toxic since i can't read the chat

I just started playing this game recently and i've been having alot of fun. I came from LoL and this game has been a breath of fresh air for me but do you have any recommendations for someone who mained darius back in league. As in, a character that is very durable and has high sustain in a fight but survives through healing mostly instead of tankiness, who also has a decently high amount of damage? Thanks in advance if anyone does reply

OTP Nicky, reached Gold 3, started climbing since 1.0, before, I just spam Cobalt all day. BTW Asia server so it might have contributed to my experience.
I always queue up with Koreans for some reason.

LMAO I’m fairly new to the current game (20 games of solo Zahir in s1 but I came back for 1.0 to one trick Felix) and the solo q experience hasn’t been the worst. Only real toxic encounter I had was with the same player in your video lmao. I’m 4600 after 90 games and I still don’t really know what half the cast does lol

yeah, im having a rough time with my normal matches (new player), i feel like im always queued up against experienced players and my team is also new players so yeah ggs (counting my matches, i am now 4-18 XD). also is 1.2 live yet?
It should be live now and there should be new players queue and mmr based on norms! But if you queue with someone higher mmr you’ll be placed in high mmr games. That’s an issue I had with getting my new player friends into the game!

I haven't soloqueued that much, but my experience duoqueueing has mostly been alright. Game results are still very dependent on the random and especially in lower elos it often felt like the third person did barely anything, and when they did things we almost always won or got second. In high elo games it's much more likely they'll be on the same page and play their character well, but the competition being better still makes it feel notably harder, lack of voice chat really hurts. The games with a 3 stack we ended up around 50% winrate until we started popping high elo lobbies half the time.
But I'm not sure how representative that even is, since all 3 of us are just better than the average player you will encounter in silver-gold lobbies, so naturally getting a third of that skill level will mean winning a lot, vs. if we got a third on the skill level of the average player there. From the stats NN mentioned in the recent news post (was it the patch notes?), it certainly seems that while soloq is disadvantageous, it's not as extreme as it may seem.
Oh, we also had one ultra toxic guy that took bad engages and blamed us for them, then went to just go around solo and ignore us after we lost one fight. But otherwise people haven't really been toxic to a degree where it felt detrimental to the experience.

ive been playing since season 3 and got gold in solos last season so i was worried that starting iron this season was gonna be tough. so far its fine, it's just that a lot of the times im finishing my build first and my team rarely comms which makes it hard. some of these players are probably new so coordinating teamfights gets tricky.
i feel like having a stack in low elo is pretty much required if you want to climb, at least based on my experience.
the good thing is that you have 0 entry fee so at least youre guaranteed rp every game.
yeah i'd say it would be required if the entry fee wasn't so low! Like a lot of games you can get a solo queue early and go positive lol but yeah i feel that!
