Having see him live at this event, let me tell you, this kind of battle format is perfect for Laurent. The usual battle format where they only have like 1 min per round is way too short for Laurent to show what he is capable of. At BTM they have 3 min per round some even more and that's just what Laurent needs... time. Time to build up his freestyle. Laurent is a slow starter, he needs time to get into the music, feel all layers of it, get in the zone and build up his freestyle, but when you only have 1min you can't do all that so, he is forced to get to the point faster and for someone who like to accentuate different layers of the music he just doesn't have enough time to do it as much as he wants to. But with this battle you can really see what a genius he is. He begins each rounds by taking his time to feel the music and build up his freestyle, then you'll have those explosive moments and he will slow down and build it up again. He will explore all aspect of the music and for a non dancer like me it was mind-blowing especially the last freestyle. Also what I have noticed with his opponents and other dancers at this event is that when you are used to attacking a specific part of the music, after 1 min things kinda feel repetitive because we've seen it and we know what's coming so, for those dancers this format can be a nightmare because there is too much time and they don't know what to do with it. In Lau's case it's the opposite, the more time he has the stronger he get and more detailed. He switch effortlessly from one beat to another, to the melody, vocals, lyrics, every aspect of the music will be attacked and let's not forget the storytelling. He will literally go BEYOND THE MOVE like in his last freestyle where he puts us in trance and left us wondering if he is really human or whether we were dreaming. Nothing but love and respect for him and his art.
and 1 last thing, to really understand Laurent you have to watch him live. With Larry it's easier to see and to know what he is doing even through the screen because his moves are so sharp and clear. But Lau's moves are sometimes so subtle and detailed that they sometimes get lost through the screen.

What a time to be alive and existing at the same time with this amazing individual, he has really ventured to another realm when experimenting. How do you even call this when terms like hip hop or even dance feel too narrowminded? Urban movement art or something? Either way, I waited for these clips as soon I saw this event is happening as I too was excited for the longer rounds. He's so innovative and free in his freestyles it almost looks like it's coming straight from an outside source.

For me, these Twins are two of the most legendary and Finest dancers along with so many others top-tier dancers around the world that i also watch and appreciate. But I have a special love and respect for these twins because they inspired me as a dancer, I have learned a lot from them and so many others too. I don't understand why their fanboys always fight against each other's instead of just enjoying and embracing their greatness. No one underappreciated him in comments in this video, so I think you totally misunderstood what i said. My comment was for the few of his fanboys who was comparing them in their comments instead of simply enjoying the dance! Les tiwns are the only dance duo I see their fanboys doing that, always unnecessary comparing them instead of simply enjoy their arts that they share with us, that's what is crazy to me.

I was there. Larry didn't battle too because he's nursing an injury as they explained. But i was glad to see him there too encouraging his brother. It was my dream to meet these Legends together one day and I'm glad i did. Love them and Rubix and All CC crew too❤

@Alexander Andres I appreciate them both, but like it or not there will always be a comparison between them. They are twins they are always in friendly competition with eachother, that's what elevates them to such levels. I agree with you both of them legends in this dance game rn. But my statement still stands. Larry has one style, that he executes with precision. Laurent is just alot more versatile at a scary level. 🤷🏾♂️
