it is a gorgeous tribute. i grew up in the sixties and some of these old videos need to be touched up , enhanced, youve done a wonderful job, steves voice has a quality in it the way he sings it others can sit but not like him ty.
This song transports me to the place of my youth, to a time when I still yearned for the magic of life, love, and a future unknown. Steve and the Left Banke could not have known that their song would stir all these emotions 60 years later. Our generation was blessed!
There are reasons this was (and remains) so popular. I'll dispense with the standard hyperbolic platitudes, and simply relish in the marvelous production. Thank you. Just beautiful.
At 2:40 this video shows a picture of a girl Renee. Is that a picture of the actual girl the song was written for? (Or is it a beautiful modern girl named renee?)
"the same technology the Beatles used on "Now and Then"...? What would that be? By the way, this is very well mixed/produced, very clean....like "Paul's grandfather"
Separating the lead vocal from the rest of the track, re-EQing it and pitch correcting the flat notes. Then placing it on the new recorded tracks for a mix.
The thing I really like about the original version is the imperfections in Steve's voice, it it make sound more emotional. With this enhanced version it is clinical accurate, but loosing some of the emotion.

That IS Renee Fladen, who the song was written about.
@@vintagestudiolive OK - Thanks
Seeing the Renee Mike heart is funny, Supposedly Renee dated everyone in the Banke, but Michael.
Never heard that... but Michael was nuts about her. So I gave him the heart.. not Tim.

If they had recorded this today, they would have corrected his vocals. You still have that to listen to anytime. This is just what could have been.
Fab!
Thank you @@vintagestudiolive . The more I listen to your updated version the more I like it .
@ warren ... oh pleeze
Enhanced version is overly sanitized?
