    Greetings, im Just learning of your work thru Wode Maya! I am diaspora African based in Macon Georgia. The largest single group of emancipated people, 165 people left Macon inn 1865 or 1866 to come back to Liberia. We know the history of how it went, i feel the traditional government should have been in charge of that nee colony. I am happy to see what u ae doing. I have a friend here who has a coffee farm there trying to get it moving. Liberia is a very beautiful place!!!!! I hope to visit

      @@RoydaUrey yes I know she is americo liberian and in Liberia is your are only 1 quarter of a tribe that doesn't count you go by your majority like in her case she would not be a kpelle girl for example I'm mixed vai and mende but I'm simply vai by Liberian standards as I only have one mende grandparent

    At 8:29 this house looks just like my grandparents' house in Arthington. I heard theirs got burned down too. This is the 1800s look or design of the houses built in the Americo-Liberian settlement. Aye mehn, so many memories.

    At this day and age,the better thing to accentuate is that the free slaves settle in Liberia. Not to slayly insinuate that this place is for settle slaves. The same thing goes for Providence Island, that was an entry point to which the free slaves entered Liberia where they met the natives who took them in. Liberia is well over a hundred years old and have moved on....

    • @blessedhf
      @blessedhf 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the one thing I don't understand???? The lie that is perpetuated..... Liberia didn't exist without the slaves that returned. Liberia had indigenous people already. Many of the Americo Liberians if a DNA test was done, they would find out Liberia is a settlement not home for them.

    • @freddymaxwell2094
      @freddymaxwell2094 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@blessedhf Americo-liberians as you call them, are Africans as well, and a DNA test will prove just that. They are our people, let's embrace them as such.

    • @djkwasi9632
      @djkwasi9632 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Mr Rockmore one price of history you're missing is that when the settlers came they treated the natives the same way the whites treated the slaves in the US
