My brother and I were there in 2013 with our (former) Honda TRX700XX quads and it was pretty gnarly. It had been raining all day and was a soupy mess. The mud and rocks were slick. A quad tried to make it up and ended up flipping halfway and we had to help them get it righted. The very top was pretty intimidating due to the rocks. My brother tried to make it up but ended up losing traction in the mud, so we went a different route. Judging from this video, it looks a lot easier than what it used to be. We're hoping to get back down to Hatfield and McCoy next year.
@@TheCanAmCrew love to see how much the machines have grown and how much easier these trails are for you the video on them carnivores had me clenching my butt 😆
I was up 97 at the end of April this year and it was a smooth blue trail at best. Definitely looks like it’s been ridden and washed out some since then. I have a short video of the top I could email you if you want. The previous washed out part was just as smooth too.
I talked to one of the dozer guys last year who gave me a ride back to camp. Super nice. Said he has more of a problem with bears stealing his lunch than worrying about falling down the mountain...he said clearing trees was actually more dangerous. I was there at Devils backbone resort a few weeks ago. One guy was playing a prank on his buddies and went to back behind some trees real quick so he could jump out on them in his SXS, Well...he backed off the mountain and down 120' - crapped his drawers good, so the prank ended up being on him. Another guy was there at the resort and so drunk that he was driving around the complex in his Talon and bouncing the machine off the rev limiter. Super wasted. too many guys drinking and driving but never had any issues. Hit the outlaw trails for the first time and met some great local dudes
We are at Windrock now and they also have done a bunch of trail maintenance. Kinda disappointed but still have a bunch of killer trails. It’s our last day here. Had a good 6 days of 5 plus hours of riding. Haven’t broke anything yet but today we hitting 15.
Headed down next weekend.. which which trails do I want to enter 97,35,94/95, from? I think you mentioned hit 32 from 19 but I didn’t catch the others.. thanks for the content!
You’ll hit 97 from 17. 35 from 17. 95 from 19 and 35 from 14. 95 will be the most difficult one. Since they dozed the double blacks and blacks none of trails are really that hard anymore. I heard they just fixed 94 again too.
We was there back in April and it was smoothed out then too and I think it was because they had to use that trail as a detour because they had the others that went around closed off. Talking about 97
I do know that They dozed them because people were rolling and getting hurt. I know all the trails around it are open now. Or at least were when we were there.
@@MrRampage82 yes, trail 95. That’s another one a sxs isn’t able to do under their own power. We could pull up and winch but there’s no fun in that. The water fall and second ledge is way to big for a sxs.

I have gone up 32 and 97 multiple times on my bike. use to be a killer workout and hard enduro line. Its a shame they dozed these and closed 32. 32 was awesome for the utv guys in our group.
@@TheCanAmCrew yeah lets hope. i am glad they infilled at the lower section of 97 though. it was so narrow on top of those rocks the wider rzrs couldn't even try it.
It depends on which cabin you rent. They have different sizes. I believe they start around 150-180ish. It’s been a while since we’ve rented a cabin though
Truth is greens and blues bring in more money. Of course, we all know money drives it all plus the safety aspect of it. I personally enjoy the G’s & B’s better because there’s less of a chance to break the machine but I think for people who want black and harder they should have a system designed specifically for them.
Ya, I agree. Hatfield McCoy used to be known for having a variety of trails. Now they are all easy. They should have easy trails for folks who want to cruise and hard for ones who want to ride hard. I understand why though.

Hey just recently got a Pro R, did your friend have any problems on Hatfield McCoy with it? I’m just concerned about the width being too big.
Nah, you won’t find any trails on Hatfield McCoy that you wouldn’t fit with ease. Most are 2 sxs widths wide.

That pro R needs a lower spring rate it would perform and travel much better in them rocks if it wasn't bouncing around.
