I am also from Guntur 😂 staying in Birmingham sep 2023 intake. This is the live situation i faced 😂 in start when i came here but after getting part-time it's going on. Watched both parts and all my inner thoughts spoken openly by Kavya 😂.

Our son is studying for a bachelor's degree (currently in his second year) in London and his room rent is £230 per week. So, I don't know how one can live with £300 per month. Although he worked in KFC in the past while studying A levels in Wales, he has been unable to get a part-time job for more than a year now. The only good thing is he gets a student loan for tuition fees (>9K per year) and partial maintenance. We are also from the Guntur district and have lived in the UK for >30 years.

@@pubginfo7357 I know the difference between London (my son stays in Greenwich) and Manchester and yet £300 pm as the average rent is too low. I studied PhD at Univ. of Sheffield >30yr ago and we used to pay £50 per week (~£220 pm) for a single-bed basement flat (owned by the council and it was without central heating). You don't get a shared room for £300 pm even in Sheffield or Swansea (where we live now) though the cost of living is lower than in Manchester. Our son is studying for a degree in Music (Vocal) and therefore he has to live with other students and also where they are allowed to practice. So, they live in a student accommodation and he is taking the loan for his studies, which he has to pay when he starts earning.
