They are trying to show that his soul is always to watch out for her and that is why they repeat the scenes at the end with him besides her: to show that she is actually alone but she feels that his soul present. Music Videos hardly ever fully reflect the song, music videos are an afterthought of the song and the music video is the director's vision, it could have a completely different message than the song.
