Kon'nichiwa means hello, not good morning. Ohayogozaimasu means good morning.

Cynthia Mayfield true , but he didnt pronounce konnichiwa, he pronounced “kon-nyan-ichiwa ” .nyan being meow... so “good meowning” is the closest to a cat pun in English. “Good after-mew-n” isn’t that catchy
