Kukkolankoski, Tornio, Finland, drone Dji Mini 2

Filmed in August 2023 with a Dji Mini 2 drone. Kukkolankoski is a 3.5 kilometer long rapid located on the border of Finland and Sweden in Tornionjoki, with a drop height of 14 meters. It is the longest free-flowing rapid in Finland and a centuries-old whitefish and salmon fishing spot. Kukkola developed its own whitefish catching technique, the so-called slippage. It has been speculated that whitefish fishing has already started in the 13th century, when the shores of the rapids began to be inhabited.
