- East Bay Sports Card Show in Concord, CA || Feb 25, 2023
We drove about an hour to checkout a show relatively new the SF Bay Area that we haven't checked out before. With table pricing on the higher side, we decided to walk the show instead of setting up. I've been told that there wasn't much Pokemon in this show, but we were definitely caught off guard with a decent amount of Pokemon cards at the show, as well as as unexpected surprise!

At multiple nearby conventions I have also noticed vendors putting fake chinese gold Pokemon cards in their binders and trying to get like $5/each for them.
Vendors have been using the keyword "custom" cards when selling these at our local shows. Unfortunately some of the younger demographic don't understand that these cards aren't authentic.
I see these 'gold cards' at every single show. Most people dont claim they are real which would be a problem. Instead they try and sell them to kids for $5 each. Just pure scum.
So does anyone say anything to these vendors about the cards not being authentic? Or tell the people buying them that they are not authentic and to watch out for those vendors?
Did you tell him they were fake, or did you just put them back for the kids 😂
We definitely informed the vendor that certain cards were fake and pulled them out from the rest of the cards. The vendor unfortunately did not care.
