My grandmaw, God rest her beautidul soul, was a seamstress extraordinaire. She made all my church dresses and cute short sets. She NEVER let me use her fabric scissors to play with for this exact reason!!❤❤❤
My mother had a pair of fabric scissors she used for sewing. And a rotary blade for cutting the fabric into shapes for her quilting. She forbade us kids (my two brothers and I) from touching them, let alone using them for anything. She didn’t want her precious scissors dulled by anything. Then one day my younger brother cut his finger playing with her rotary blade and mom was not pleased with me as I was supposed to be watching him. He actually needed stitches, poor guy. Nobody touched her blades or her scissors after that.
My grandmom was too and she made all of my church dresses too and other stuff. I use to love playing with all the buttons she had. I wish I’d learn to sew on the machine before she passed away❤
Great demonstration of a ladder stitch! It's extremely useful for closing holes and attaching pieces with a nearly invisible join, so cushions and a small couch are a great project for practice.
Beautiful work Toya - I think it’s pretty cool that you continue to have unlimited inspiration for your doll rooms, furniture, backdrops, doll clothes, doll customs, collections and reviews! You are like the Swiss Army knife of doll content creators!! 🫶🏽
I love this idea so much 🤩🤩🤩I have extra unicorn printed felt that I got for 10¢ that I had no idea what to do with. Now I’m going to make a fun sofa/chair and it’s going to be perfect thanks to Toya🥳🥳🥳 You always make things better for my crafts😊😊😊
Love your step by step video. It's been over 30 years since I took a sewing class. I bought doll clothes pattern and was so overwhelmed. Videos like this are so helpful. Thank you Toya!
So inspiring for those who are in need of a couch for their Barbie's. I know they would love this..and so do I ❤❤❤❤❤❤ I do like working with felt. Amazing!
This is really cool! When you shared your pattern creation my brain still did not understand how that was going to turn into a sofa, lol. Seeing this whole process was really interesting!
This is really fabulous!!😍 I really, really, really love & appreciate that you took the extra time to show each step in detail! ❣️ I have wanted to learn that stitch, I think it may be called a ladder stitch but could be wrong, for hand sewing or closing up an area. Thank you so very much!! ❣️
The thing about having different sissors for fabric vs paper is totally true! I used to work at a craft store and I learned this while working there. We had fabric sissors that we cut the fabric with and we were instructed to never cut paper with it because it dulls the sissors! ✂️
Yay new video! Your crafting skills are amazing! I tried making my own sofa and...its very odd looking since I glued it instead of sewing. This is a great craft, thank you!!
Some of my best childhood memories are my mom yelling at my dad for cutting paper with her sewing scissors. She also had two pairs of sewing scissors - straight edge and pinking shears. She added in the rotary cutter to her arsenal when she began quilting. Loved the way the couch came out in olive green. It really did look like the inspiration. Maybe you could make one in Barbie pink. I also wish you could try and recreate the mojo, dojo, casa before Christmas and Ken’s Sylvester Stalllone inspired outfit. Hopefully Mattel would surprise us in time for Christmas. I would also like to find a Hummer or Jeep vehicle online Ken can fit in. I would like to surprise my beloved with this as a gift since he has funded many of the Barbies in my collection, going as far as to work in Toys-r-Us and Kaybee Toys back in the 90s to get the employee discounts during the Christmas season.
Havent watched u in a year last tine i watched u when i was 9 or like the start of my 10 yr old b day Now im 11 :) still love ur doll vids i love ur nails btw i learnt my crafting side from u ♡
Toya, This turned out really cute! I'm totally getting "Lovesac" sectional vibes. A chez style piece could be easily done using your pattern too. Thank you for all your fun and inspiring designs. 💜✌️🐸
I really love this idea, I have learned so much from watching your videos. I still need to work on a lot of things, but, I am really excited to try to make this sofa ❤. Thanks so much for all the help and ideas. This is super fun and really awesome ❤
Lol. Teddy 🧸 stuffing. You inspired me to make coats for my new made to move Barbie that you recommended. Her name is Cassidy BTW. Now I have a bag of teddy, frogs, bunnies etc, stuffing to. I've been hitting the claw machines for barbie sized stuffies. I have a problem lol. Thank you for always making me smile. I loovve your style & talent. 💜
The couch turned out lovely! I know you wanted it to match the inspiration source, but if you want it taller, maybe attach some foam board (forgot what it's called) to the bottom, and add some beads for feet? Thank you for the video!
Miss Toya I'm such an 80's fan and I have a weird request for you. I would love to be able to make a doll sized pinball machine with working flippers (just 2) for my dolls to play while they chit chat and chillax. Melissa
Toya at first when you were obsessed with the little mermaid, I could understand how good a movie could be, but now J OH TAKE THAT BACK I UNDERSTAND YOUR OBSESSION AND OVE ONLY WATCHED. THE MOVIE 2 TIMES 🧜♀️
Me gusta más este tipo de vídeo qué cuando abres cápsulas de minibrands, porque en mi país es difícil conseguir las cápsulas, pero fieltro hay en todas partes del mundo😅.
Would it be possible to do two large cushions for the bottom and the back if you plan on sewing them together anyway? Do you think it would make it easier or harder?

I’ve got a question. I’m terrible at math. Could you send me or put on the pattern size for the SmartDoll? Thank you! You are very inspiring and so is Bella. Thanks for entertaining @ encouraging us in the world.

Wow that’s so amazing just like my froggy stuff. I love her videos. She is so dope.

I've also heard it called a teddy bear stitch.
Awesome! I might try this for my Barbies.
Go for it!
It looks like matcha flavored bread! Yum!
