Funeral now days are just for show. Back in the old days before Hmong came to US funeral was easy. 1 pig or 1 cow is ok but these Kwvtij wants to show off and ask family to come up with 60 to 80k.

Thank god we were able to do my mom funeral for under $15K only. She goes to church so we kept it very simple. Plus she left words that she forbid us to spend too much on her funeral. These Hmong funeral are crazy expensive, too much money wasted for show.

Having to host and cater to a whole bunch of people. I'm doing half a day bc I am thinking of the cost to my husband and children. And the emotional and mental distress.

This old triedition way is too old. Our generation, need to change for our kids future generation. For the last 6 years, we only spent 4 hours at the funeral. We cater food and have just for lunch. After that I heard so many people wants the same way for the funeral.
