    I wish they made a 350HP-400HP variant. Kinda like an Audi S5 sportback, heck, even the KIA Stinger has 350 HP. The thing about Lexus' though, they hold their value and they're built well!

      Ummmmm Lexus ISF? I always got mad when car and driver said "is the new 2014 IS 350 an M3 killer"? Why not compare it to the ISF.
      F SPORT is cool and all but I already spent an extra 5600 for the 3.5 liter and just added the Luxury/executive package. I had two other cars that were better sports cars...944 turbo and Focus ST. Didnt need the fake air dams, webbed wheels, and as far as suspension BC Racing, Greddy, and even D2 sell entry level coilovers that do exact same thing but also let you adjust height. I do regret not getting the gauge cluster. Anyway the ISF is the real sports model. It would be like comparing the Focus RS to the Honda civic turbo sport instead of the Type R. Just not a good comparison. Plus the m3 is a good bit more expensive by like 27k dollars or more.

    I've been in a lot of cars and i'd have to say that this interior is not the best, but is still gorgeous. Especially the red interior option for the f sport models, although i wouldn't compare to German competitors but compare it to other Japanese cars like Honda and Nissan and the will Lexus will shine.
    I've driven multiple Is 350 F sports and i can gladly tell you that ripping this car around corners or off the line is a pleasure. Even when the car passes its 70,000 mile mark you still feel confident in the reliability where as a high mileage BMW or Mercedes makes you cringe especially when you hear a loud crank. That's is a major edge that Lexus has over German rivals which is something i think you should of addressed at least for the IS 300
    When it comes to Luxury i would highly recommend a Mercedes Benz or BMW as they do not compare to Lexus' outdated software and technology. Lexus is simply for exterior design appeal and extreme driving confidence based on the reliability the brand's value carries. If you're looking for anything beyond that and do not mind paying extra, consider a C43 AMG, BMW M340i, or an Audi S4 as base model German cars are a nightmare and the worst investment you could probably make in your life. Other than that, nothing can beat a Lexus purchase.

    I own an IS 350 F Sport. I love this car. most of the people complaining aren’t even owners...and mainly are looking for reasons to dislike the car imo. #1 cup holders. Your mainly driving on your own, place the cup on the farthest back holder and it will never get in your way. You got a passenger with a bottle? have them store it in the bottle slot that’s on the door...they have a cup? your going to throw it away when you get off the car.
    #2 no TS or ACP/Android blah blah. Once you get use to the cursor which actually vibrates as it cycles through the menu, you’ll realize it’s much safer plus the screen is too far for you to be touching it. BT works like a charm with my android, no issues whatsoever. You want to use your phone GPS on the car system? Well they sell a aftermarket kit that mirrors your phone screen to the car’s screen. #3 no place to put your device? buy a damn mount. I don’t have one so I place mine upright where the seat warmer controls are. Only issue with that is when you take a sharp right turn cause this car can handle turning like a beast! #4 This car is slow compared to others in its class....Use the car in Sport or even Sport+ it never disappoints. In addition, once you get past 21 yrs old you grow out of thinking the road is a NFS race track. Don’t get me wrong, I love to be able to get up and go when needed.....trust me, this car has it and if you want more...mod it (at your own risk). Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience and point of view of someone that finds solutions to their problems rather than cross my arms and shrug when things don’t go my way. There are pros and cons to everything. Don’t forget. This car was focused on the drive experience, luxury and reliability. IMO it delivers on all 3. Oh bonus track! the age of the stick shift being superior is long gone and it ain’t coming back so just get over it and adapt. I personally love stick, I daily drive an 02 civic EX stick and love driving it but paddle shifter grows on you. Adapt and evolve people. Adapt and evolve!

    When my warranty runs up, I'll probably swap the head unit to an AA/ACP to keep it up to date, probably going to change the sound system soon because I opted for the basic sound system. Other than cupholder placement and no phone/wallet cubby it's really an overall great looking and driving car.

    My main dislike with Lexus is that they’re so reliable that I don’t hang out in garages a lot of times anymore. When I owned a Jaguar and Merc, they’re so horrible that they’re always in garages. The repair costs are massive that I feel like all my savings are getting drained. Likewise I’m always worried that something’s about to break down soon and again they will be in garages and the bills will be massive as usual. It became a habbit that I’ve grown accustomed to it. I also got used to always being broke with those money pits. With Lexus, I don’t hang out in garages most of the times anymore and the worry that something won’t be working fine again soon is gone. Now I can see my savings building up as I no longer have the usual massive car repair bills. Everything has been changed.

I know no matter how hard I smash this thing will still take me home. Interior may seem old but if you actually sit in one they are timeless. Also I drove the car for 3.5 years and can alsmost get the same amount of money I spend on it.(not with taxes lol) Anyways great car overall

    I currently am 1st time owner of a 2016 IS 300 FSport AWD. I too agree that a bit more power or even a V-8 or V6 TT should be added as a limited edition upgrade to the IS line.. Honestly the only thing I truly dislike about my car is the fact of there’s no storage space relatively available near the shifter or below the air conditioning unit so I could put my keys and my cell phone in its place. Overall I am confident, happy, and satisfied with my purchase. In the coming years I hope that something else comes up that will WOW me to trade up my current vehicle.

    Like: exterior. So beautiful
    Dislike: So expensive to buy Lexus than used German and USA cars.
    As when I look for 100k miles to see the prices (15 to 20k) 2013 to 17😱😱😱. I remember saw used Cadillac ATS 100k or less miles cost 7k (2013 or 15). Cadillac so beautiful. But when my car have problem,I had to take to locate garage (mechanic) to repair my car and I met a guy then we become friends(Because local garage is nearby and I have never gone to dealership haha) . When I ask about Cadillac,he warned me not to get a Cadillac. He said(I know you not sitting inside because you just standing there and watch to learn how to take car of your car(Toyota) when it having problem but trust me, for me if you bring Cadillac to repair will take forever to get it fix because it's too much stuff to disassemble and will cost you a lot of money for labors and I saw you looking at BMW while I'm fixing your car but you'll end up come to my garage to get your car fix everyday to stress you out. If you want peace,get Lexus.)

    I own an IS 350 F Sport and it's a beautiful car. On the contrary to his opinion, I am SO glad it does not have the heads up display and love the interior (don't find it outdated at all).
    The dislikes for me:
    1.) Bluetooth connection can be faulty at times (1 in 50 starts).
    2.) Cup holders are positioned well but where do I put my phone if they are occupied?
    3.) This does not bother me but why is the screen positioned a bit behind, it should be right above or nearer to the clock.

    Wow , I couldn’t disagree more. I’m in the hunt for a luxury sedan and after having tried many I think I may buy the IS300 Business. The interior and the finishes look and feel much better than BMW and Audi, and almost as good as the Benz. I’m in Europe and from my experience, maybe the interior design is different to the US models. Most of your likes and dislikes were regarding things that I consider “secondary” in a car with this price tag. IMHO the drive and overall feel of the car is so superb that I can live with the things that this car does not have. Anyway, thanks for sharing your views on the car. 👏

    Why do they make a 300 is for the US market? Why would you buy one? Where I live they have a 2 litre turbo (replacing the 2.5 l V6) the 3.5 litre V6 and a 2.5 litre hybrid. A range of cars which makes more sense and means the cars have a major point of difference in their drivetrain and appeal to a wider variety of customers. Anyway most of your criticisms were minor and did not focus on driveabilty. I remember the 2.4l Nissan Bluebirds of 1998 ( a basic family car) having heads up display. But heads up display never really took off for a variety of reasons.(which are still applicable today) Now the technology's back as something "new". It probably won't last.
    Having driven all three Lexus IS cars I can say the one thing that annoyed me the most was the "stop, start" technology used on the 200t. (I don't know if it's used everywhere, but it's a pain). It's not on the 350 or hybrid and they're better cars for it. Most other cars today use the technology and it sucks, just to improve emissions and fuel consumption a bit. I think it's almost mandatory for European cars. As far as performance is concerned the 350 has heaps of power, but it's naturally aspirated and you need the rev the shit out it (which it loves) to appreciate the performance. If you do it goes like "a rat up a drainpipe!"

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 300 replaces the 200t so it’s still a 2.0 Turbo and the 3.5 V6, just no Hybrid here.

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m certainly not expecting a bi turbo 6 or V8...just mostly the 2.0T. Compared to other 2.0T engines it’s slower and less powerful. It’s even slower than mainstream brand turbo 4s. For example the Chevy Malibu, Kia Optima, Honda Accord etc all are quicker.
      I like the IS 350 V6 and would personally go for that naturally aspirated engine anyways. I just wish the turbo was quicker. It would be totally awesome if they brought back a V8 or the LS 3.5 twin turbo for a new IS F but oh well
