Excellent job mate! I love this film and this recently cut trailer is great and does it proud...it is considered a rock n roll classic now and rightly. Good ol brummy lads who could rock like the best of em. Couple of years ago I co-directed a documentary film on another midlands singer from same era, Clifford T Ward..I'm now wishing we had got Noddy to interview for it..Noddy was a good friend of Clifford's and used to come and visit him when Cliff was suffering with MS and he was often there when I dropped in, though we usually passed each other in the hallway..Clifford had some cracking stories about when he did TOTPs with Slade..and it echoes in 'Flame' pretty much how Cliff described Slade and their antics and their humour...I allways loved that Noddy never forgot Clifford..great band and good people.
@@classicrockalbumreviews19 it's on dvd at amazon and it's called "oh..and by the way The Clifford T Ward Story" .if you have trouble getting hold of it I will sort you a copy....I'd love to know what you think of it and review...hopefully its on Sky arts next year too. Took us a few years to make. You'll also find a trailer for it on TH-cam...I think Slade in Flame has very rightly gained in status over the years..what brought you to it?
There was a proper trailer shown in cinemas...but has been lost...i was lucky enough to see it...Starts off with the flame coming out the microphone with a voiceover...
I've always been frustrated that a proper theatrical trailer for Slade in Flame didn't seem to exist, which is surprising given how hugely popular - not to mention successful - Slade were in Britain in the 1970s. I realise the film itself was largely unloved at the time of release, and it's only since it emerged on DVD in the early 2000s that it has been favourably reassessed by film critics, most notably by the BBC film critic Mark Kermode who hailed Slade in Flame as the "Citizen Kane of rock musicals". Huge kudos to Elton Mercury for compiling this excellent trailer for Slade fans all over the world to enjoy!
Fabulous job! This brilliant film gets the trailer it deserves!
This song gives me goose bumps.

This isn't so much a trailer as it is a music video. Sladen was a cool band though.
