Building a Snow Shelter in Winter Forest | Outdoor cooking | Quinzee

- Severe frosts made adjustments to my bushcrafting routine.
Being in the forest at -25'C and at the same time doing bushcraft and recording video... is not my level. It is more like extreme winter survival.
So I had to wait for more acceptable weather conditions to stay longer in the fresh air.
Before the trip, I looked at the map and chose the place where I would go. Having found a suitable site for construction, I outlined approximate guidelines. At the chosen location there was a large swamp, so there was plenty of space without bushes and trees. Since this winter is quite generous in snow, there was plenty of material for construction. In some places I fell into the snow to the waist, and even to the chest.
I had a choice of which snow shelter to build. Igloo or Quinzee? Since I have neither the experience in building, I settled on a simpler option. In addition, I already delayed with the release of a new video due to January frosts. Therefore, it was impermissible to make mistakes.
Armed with shovels and everything I need, my new adventure begins.
There was a lot of snow .... A lot. A LOT OF SNOW.
I fastened a small shovel on a backpack, but carrying a big Fiskars shovel in my hands in the deep snow was hard.. A little bit later I wrapped a paracord around my waist, tied the other end to the handle of a shovel and draged it behind me.
I had Asian food for lunch. I decided to cook camping style Korean funchose. I didn’t bring soy sauce. I thought that pickled chicken breast in soy sauce with garlic would give the dish enough salt. But I was wrong. Although on the other hand, the path is not so short, and I had a minimum of water supply. Therefore, thirst for me is useless.
The process of building a shelter took a lot of energy, but it was extremely informative in terms of gaining new experience, and certainly it was fun! Now I have an idea of ??how you feel while spending time in a snow cave. I think one day I’ll shoot a video overnighter in a quinzee.

Мы в детстве, пещеры копали в снегу. Было очень круто. Спать в пещере не пробовали. Самая крутая пещера была двухэтажная. В ней мы с другом сидели со свечкой и ели вафли. Детство, детство.....

С учётом записи(установка и снятие камеры), расстояние то по факту больше пройдено, и по таким сугробам, вообще с ума сойти😀😀😀😀и ведь находятся олени которые лёжа на диване, со свисающим до пола животом , ставят дизлайки
Зря сломала, надо было прийти на следующий день подготовленной, коврик, мешок спальный и т.д. и переночевать, вот было бы логическое завершение трудов....

Настя, лопату Fiskars нужно было привязавать не к себе любимой, а к рюкзаку на короткий репшнур/паракорд, чтобы черенок был приподнят на пол метра от снежного покрова. Я когда-то т.ж. строил иглу, но при плюсовой температуре. Катал снежные комья, как для снеговика, а лишнее обрезал небольшим куском гетинакса (такие использовали в детсадах, для лепки поделок из пластилина). Ночевали втроём. Мой друг заснял это на видео и отправил на передачу "Сам себе режиссёр". Нам позвонили из Москвы и пригласили на съёмки, как победителей рубрики: "А Вам слабо?".
Ничего не отморозили там себе ?

What I don't understand is why she insists on walking! She could be using skis to get around, it should be a lot easier than walking, even if the snow sinks a bit under her. And if she can't ski, she could use snow shoes, with more or less the same effect.

It takes grate courage and determination to acheive the tasks you have done so far, without a vast amount of bushcraft and survival skills as your knollege it is even more dangerouse for you yet yopu have completed the goals you set out to do and i congratulate you on such grate efforts, being as young as you are will make a lot of people asume you dont have the skills needed to do these videos and all i have to say to anyone with any negative comments that none in the world can be thrown in at the deep end and expect to learn the skills needed to survive difrent tasks yet so far you have rose above most if not all those of your intent and im very proud of you as your parents, partner and anyone that knows you must also be, i live in England and rarely get much snow here but i have the skills from camping in Sweeden and the Alaska worlderness, over many years i learnt difrent skills to hand down to my children but they chose to make there lifes as there mother intended, my son is with a femail partner and have a child, my Daughter still single with two young children of her own but both have no idea about survival skills and they perrish that thought but Karma will pay there rewards, thank you for sharing your memories with us and i pray all your journeys be fruitfull and rewarding as you gain the knollage you may one day need to put to good use, GOD bless and always keep you safe

Если это происходило при -25, даже при мин. 15, это очень круто... снег пушистый, легкий... значит точно не тепло.. перелопатить столько снега, это не так то просто здоровому мужику... постоянно носиться с камерой туда сюда... еще и кушать приготовить... ты умничка! И при этом все так по женски изящно.. ) Ночевать там реально можно, при средних морозах только лапник в три слоя под попу... ) вход завесить и свечку...
