I do think the situations are different. I don't know their story, but it sure feels like before they entered Reality TV, Kim had did some things while intoxicated that really hurt Kyle. Erika hasn't done that. She views the two situations differently and it's honestly with good reason. From her perspective.

Speaking from someone who is 3 years sober and who drank to make herself feel anything I understand why and what about Erika’s drinking “to have fun” because also think, if she was seen “having fun and she was sober” people would run her across the coals for Daring to enjoy life while the victims of her husband suffer. I feel the exact same way!!! I love these two women together. They’re honest and they check each other when they need to be checked. That’s what real friends do. We all live in different states now, but when we talk on the phone it’s just like we were little girls or teenagers spending the night at each other‘s homes and just giggling and behave like young girls. There’s a thing about Erika and Garcelle. Garcelle is extending her the same amount of grace and compassion that the other girls are extending her, but she’s doing it in a different way in from a completely different approach. I think, whereas Kyle has experience with addiction, she is walking on eggshells because she doesn’t want to trigger anything, Garcelle is being preventative and trying to stop someone from getting to a place where they could even be considered an addict in the first place and I think that is because Garcelle cares and doesn’t want her to get to that place, again from a place of experience with family member’s addiction. Same intention, different approach. That’s why she’s approaching it the way she’s approaching it, and other people are reading it as more malicious than concerned. I think that Garcelle wanting her to get a handle on this now when you’re able to acknowledge what the issue is before it becomes an existential Problem is caring just as much as someone like Kyle understanding that she’s been through a lot and needs to let her hair down and have some fun.

Ugh, I just hate how much Crystal holds her tongue! Even in the after show. She will literally agree and back Garcelle in her confessionals, but is silent in real time around the ladies. She even let Erika say those snide comments about her eating disorder, unchecked. She needs to do a better job of using her voice amongst the group.

I feel the exact same way!!! I love these two women together. They’re honest and they check each other when they need to be checked. That’s what real friends do. My best friends are friends that I’ve had since I was a little girl and I was born in the 70s. We all live in different states now, but when we talk on the phone it’s just like we were little girls or teenagers spending the night at each other‘s homes and just giggling and behave like young girls. There’s a thing about Erika and Garcelle.
Garcelle is extending her the same amount of grace and compassion that the other girls are extending her, but she’s doing it in a different way in from a completely different approach.
I think, whereas Kyle has experience with addiction, she is walking on eggshells because she doesn’t want to trigger anything, Garcelle is being preventative and trying to stop someone from getting to a place where they could even be considered an addict in the first place and I think that is because Garcelle cares and doesn’t want her to get to that place, again from a place of experience with family member’s addiction. Same intention, different approach.
That’s why she’s approaching it the way she’s approaching it, and other people are reading it as more malicious than concerned.
I think that Garcelle wanting her to get a handle on this now when you’re able to acknowledge what the issue is before it becomes an existential Problem is caring just as much as someone like Kyle understanding that she’s been through a lot and needs to let her hair down and have some fun.
