What a trip! We finally took a much-needed vacation from the projects and headed out west to one of our favorite states, Colorado. From dining away in Denver, to breweries in Breckenridge, to million dollar views in Ouray, to enjoying the echoes of music in Telluride at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, we documented it all. Hope you enjoy a little different video this round, but just know we'll be back with more projects at the mountain home in no time. -T&R
Wow. What a beautiful place. Unfortunately I've never been to Colorado but maybe one day. Everywhere y'all went was prettier than the one before. Enjoyed every minute of this video guys. Thanks for letting me come along. Headed to the East Tennessee mountains soon and looking forward to that. Greetings from North Mississippi.
I am glad the two of you had such a relaxing vacation. I love the vista that I saw in Colorado as I always wanted to visit that state from what I had read and seen. As a Canadian, I have to say that your Rockies are nice but ours in Canada are so much more.
🇨🇦 I’ve loved skiing in Telluride, so how terrific to “participate” in your summer vacation there……time consuming I’m sure, but what a fun video. Thank you, thank you.
Ah, so cool to hear you've been skiing there! Todd has been daydreaming of going back just for that. Glad you enjoyed the adventure and yes, quite a time editing it all into 38 mins, but worth it! Cheers!

Oh wow, what a great story! Loved hearing that you previously lived there. The mountains around the town just make for a stunning backdrop. The hotel we stayed in was the Imogene, which I think was across the street from the Ouray Hotel. Thanks for watching and following along on our adventures! 🙂

That was just the best video and tour of Colorado! Thank you for taking us and showing us all these great towns and places! Man the views alone! Loved the Ramble Hotel...reminded me of your wall in the cabin! I hope you guys had fun. The festival looked amazing, not the mention the food and the beer and all those great lil shopping places. And I hope that Wally had a great time and stay in South Carolina! Thank you Todd and Rob and hope you had a great 4th of July too! ❤🤍💙
Great video! Thank you for bringing us along on your much needed vacation. The scenery and that Bloody Mary looked amazing! 😍 Glad you made it back safely to your beautiful mountain home with Wally.
That was a wonderfull trip! I live in the Netherlands, nearby the Waddensea with out mountains! But with your lovely flog I see an other landscape thank you, love it! ❤
Awesome video and get away for you both. I was glad to read in the comments that Wally is in good hands but he told me to tell you that he misses his two dads. Though, I am sure by the time this video releases you are already back home. It is so great to see pride being celebrated in such a remote location such as Colorado. I love the mountains but except for the consequences due to the elevation changes with inner ear issues. Being that you are in North georgia, you should head to North Carolina sometime to visit Pilot Mountain. 25 minutes north of where I reside. Just on the other side you have Mount Airy where the Andy Griffith show was filmed. They have a festival every year. Thank you again for such a great video. You guys are awesome! 🌈
Yep, Wally had a wonderful time with his grandparents getting spoiled, of course. 😉 We'll have to check out Pilot Mountain sometime. Hadn't heard about it before.
Yes, I’m cognizant of those things that anchor you in Georgia; family, careers, homes, etc… Yet, I have to state that the great mountains of the west compliment both of you - there’s a change in your energy, your stride, a brightness in your eyes, a peace of place that comes from deep within and the stress lines in your faces seemingly disappear…. Yet, we know not the roadmap of our futures - no matter how much we plan… Life is a fickle companion that walks with us each and every day. No, it is not inconceivable to think that some day you might finally live in your mountain cabin - the one surrounded by clear, rushing rivers and wake up to the bugling of an elk in your back yard…… I left the southeast many long years ago and now live at the base of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State…. It was a long and circuitous route, but I would not trade it for anything in this world. So, young men, know that you have untold numbers of family in the west that would welcome you with love, respect and open arms - “Come to where the timid wren dips her beak in the mountain stream and the doe hides her newborn fawn in the deep shadows of the giant cedars and where the gentle breeze makes the aspen leaves to dance and brings a balm to thy weary heart…..” From a “family” member - love and respect - this day - and always..! Yakima, Washington
Wow, so very eloquently spoken. Thank you for the very kind words that ring very true. We have both pined to live in the west someday. Before we even met, I (Rob) had even applied for jobs in several states, but as such in life, fate led us to each other in Atlanta. So here we are in this wonderful chapter of our lives. But yes, as you said, maybe one day we'll have that elk in our back yard and that rushing river by our side. Also, your story sounds wonderful, especially with the Cascades as your backdrop. ♥️
Well worth the wait what scenery (fabulous) really liked Hooray, Telluride myself thanks for the journey Loved❤ every minute of it you guy's👬 Cheers🍻 Tony and Wollie 🐾

The hills were indeed alive to the sound of music ! But, please tell me, what have you done to the camera 😲 The picture quality on my television is absolutely STUNNING ❤❤
Glad to hear the quality was excellent! Crazy enough, it's the same cameras we've been using. We upgraded the main one in January. I bet it has something to do with the bountiful sunshine and epic mountain views of the West! Maybe we'll just have to return more frequently. 😉

Love Ouray...all those great old buildings & the cool vibe...You are flower magnets...everywhere you go you find flowers!❤ I'm still a little bent out of shape that you didn't make it to Montana...😅 Did any of your TH-cam fans recognize you?
Oh, we'll get back to Montana at some point! We've been daydreaming already about another western trip. And yes, flower magnet, for sure! There were just so many amazing plants in CO! Thanks for watching, as always!
Lord have mercy...I would have gained 100 lbs eating and drinking all that wonderful food and spirits! Lol.... this was so fun to watch. I'm so happy that yall's vacation was great!!! Cheers! I need a bloody Mary now.... thanks...lol
Haha, well, we definitely walked off a lot of the food we ate! While we were in Telluride, we walked everywhere for the entire 5 days (minus the gondola ride), so that helped. 😉 Thanks for tuning in! Cheers!
It was interesting that in Ouray that they had a sign that said the Switzerland of America & also in your video you mentioned the Sound of Music. I was getting an alpine. A couple of years ago, I went to Switzerland and Austria. Including Zermatt (at the base of the Matterhorn) and also Wengen which is about Interlaken - both are car free areas so taking gondolas and trains are what is done. In Austria we also stayed in Salzburg where the Sound of Music took place and also went to Hallstatt - which was especially spectacular.
Salzburg has a music festival as it was the birthplace of Mozart - but we were not there at that time. Most locals & other Europeans go to Salzburg because of Mozart than for the Sound of Music which they are much much less familiar with than Americans (at least certain Americans).
Todd often sings random Sound of Music songs, so maybe he's channeling some Austrian vibes and that led us to Ouray. And wait, Zermatt--we actually went there on our honeymoon in 2015!! Absolutely loved it, the gondolas, the car-free environment, all of it. So cool that you also got to visit too!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I personally, have never been out west, so i cannot even begin to imagine what its like with no humidity 🥵 I so enjoyed those two little towns you two stayed in before you made it to Telluride ❤ Great great video, the views were STUNNING ❤
Hi Boys, have you both seen the movie...."The Long Long Trailer"with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz...1954 I think....when they were driving a trailer through the Rocky Mountains on the precarious winding roads? Seems like the Todd and Rob show. Love the video and love to you both, James ❤❤
Awesome video, but you traveler's that have pets need to let us know where they are before you take off. I'm sure Wally is good hands. I always worry about the furry friends. Absolutely beautiful footage and historical old buildings. Fantastic. ❤👍🌈
Definitely will next time! He had a very fun vacation at Grandma and Grandpa's. Or what we called "summer camp". He came back rested and ready to see us!
Lovely video and we are sure that you enjoy visiting beautiful Colorado for 4 days, see beautiful places, sightseeing beautiful mountains, eat, shopping!! That amazing video and glad that both of you got home safely, wally are very happy to see you to home 🏡!⛰️🏞🎶🇺🇲🎸🦋🏖🤟❤️👋☺️
Aren't those towns just amazing? So glad we got to spend some time in both. And we're using a DJI Pocket 3 most of the time. It's on a gimbal, so we like the stabilization of it. Other than that, we will use our phone cameras on occasion (Pixel 8 Pro and iPhone), as well as a GoPro Hero 12 for most of the timelapses.
@@toddandrob I’m flying into Montrose in a few weeks and will spend 10 days with my family in Ouray. They have a home there and I can’t wait to go back there! Thanks for the information on the cameras!
This makes me want to plan a trip to Colorado! I lived in CO Springs for a couple years, but haven't been back since 2011. It's easy to forget just how breathtaking the views are. Looks like you had a great trip!
An eventful trip - did you see any wildlife? Seems to be a bit of a eata-a-thon across Colorado, but that is what vacations tend to be. Now back to work on that beautiful landscaping of yours!
Yep! There was a quick clip of a moose crossing in front of us and then a herd of elk in Telluride. Beautiful to see. That was actually Todd's first moose sighting! And yep, even we realized that about the eat-a-thon when we edited it. But there was just so much good food to enjoy. 😉
Great VLOG guys. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻what a beautiful country. So vast. My partner and I have recently just started watching you here in Australia. Keep posting. Love the nature and garden VLOGS.
So great to hear! Thanks for tuning in from Australia. We definitely have been enjoying every project we've been getting into lately, especially the gardening. Stay tuned for a little more!
Ah, I guess we should have elaborated a bit more! Sorry bout that. To make up for it, it's a 4 day medium sized festival that brings in musicians that lean a little more towards the bluegrass/newgrass/folk side of genres. The entire environment around the festival is just magical as the backdrop is box canyon with mountains on 3 sides of the town, so the music literally echoes through the canyon. The festival-goers are truly so nice, open minded, and there for a good time. It was Rob's 10th and Todd's 8th.
Beautiful Colorado, flown over many times, but yet to stay there…glad you guys had a great vacation…not a Bluegrass fan, sooooo, I thought Telluride was a Hyundai or Kia vehicle? 😮 A “ lot or bunch “ of elk is called a herd, just fyi…thanks for sharing❤😊

No guard rails 😮… cuz they can’t keep them due to the avalanches in the winter time… maybe they change the name from red Mountain Pass to million Dollar highway don’t know❤
Oh, that must have been the reason. Makes sense. We did drive to Ironton and saw Red Mountain towering in the distance. So glad we chose to go that route!
@@toddandrob it beautiful but treacherous in the winter… I didn’t really want to bring this up but a state worker died in the short time we were there due to an avalanche on that road … 😢
Hey Travellers! It was incredibly rough ride. I watched your captivating video in one breath. It's surprising that I was in European Switzerland at that time on my vacations and also at high elevation in the Alps I was currently out of breath. However during my trip I suplemented electrlytes by pear taste of Gogo Active. But cicas I don't met nor there, nor at my home country. Hahaha! With best regards T&R! 😊
Strange the Million Dollar Highway came up. Just outside of Ouray, your destination. I’ve been hearing a lot and looking up information about this highway only within the last 4-6 weeks. And it keeps coming up, over and over, at least 10 different times and again here in your video. I’m getting some sort of psychic message here. What do you think guys. 😮
Oh that is crazy how things like that end up happening. Maybe it's meant to be and a sign you should add it to your list! If you do go, be sure to head into Telluride. You won't be disappointed.
Why so silent for so so long at the start then I got it....ye were reminiscing weren't ye?. Well honestly all that while I was happily reminded of my 2 friends & I on the J1's in Cape May, NJ (best summer of my life 1998). I loved it so much I went back the year after on the J2 visa to Ocean City, MD but it was not as good......., but NJ what a summer..I'm home since then back in Ireland, married, kids, work, life etc etc but feeling like after watching ye guys I need to find solace or something else. Honestly I am 47 year old and I know ye r much younger but can ye share the secret to success please? I am exhausted from grinding the graft.
Those all sound like wonderful memories for sure. And that area sounds very picturesque too. We're not too far behind as we're both in our early 40s. Somewhere early on in the pandemic we decided it was time for a change of scenery so we traded city life for the mountains. And we haven't looked back ever since. 🙂

Cheers!
@@toddandrob lol... and I hear that food has no calories at higher altitudes....lol.....
@@toddandrob wow I guess you guys are really mountain men!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I personally, have never been out west, so i cannot even begin to imagine what its like with no humidity 🥵
I so enjoyed those two little towns you two stayed in before you made it to Telluride ❤
Great great video, the views were STUNNING ❤
Hi Boys, have you both seen the movie...."The Long Long Trailer"with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz...1954 I think....when they were driving a trailer through the Rocky Mountains on the precarious winding roads? Seems like the Todd and Rob show. Love the video and love to you both, James ❤❤
Oh, that sounds right up our alley! We'll have to check it out. Thanks!
Great video
Thanks!
More & more travelling vlogsss…pls…hehhehe
Glad you enjoyed! We certainly loved traveling and creating this particular vlog.
What an awesome episode!!! You guys are getting great at this whole vlogging thing!!!! 🎉🎉
Thanks so much!!
Aghh I love you guys
😍
Lovely video and we are sure that you enjoy visiting beautiful Colorado for 4 days, see beautiful places, sightseeing beautiful mountains, eat, shopping!! That amazing video and glad that both of you got home safely, wally are very happy to see you to home 🏡!⛰️🏞🎶🇺🇲🎸🦋🏖🤟❤️👋☺️
Glad you enjoyed it! We had a lot of fun packing in as much as we could do for the time we were there. 🙂
Love this video and l love Ouray and Telluride. What kind of camera do you use in your filming.
Very cool! Enjoy the trip!
Beautiful guys I spend 5 days in North Carolina and visited the Blue Ridge Parkway and it was wonderful with a special man I met. It seems familiar
Yes! We love that area for sure.
This makes me want to plan a trip to Colorado! I lived in CO Springs for a couple years, but haven't been back since 2011. It's easy to forget just how breathtaking the views are. Looks like you had a great trip!
We second that! Always worth a trip to Colorado. That's awesome that you lived there. What a gorgeous state to be in! Thanks for watching!🙂
@@toddandrob When you arrived home and let Wally out I thought "Oh no - Home Alone all over again - how could they!"
Haha! Luckily he was away at summer camp, aka, Grandma and Grandpa's.
Fabulous 🎉
Thanks! 😊

Great to hear! Happy Birthday! 🥳
❤❤❤
😍
Welcome to Colorado handsome couple
Thank ya 😎
Guys, you didn’t talk about what the festival was about and what it celebrates. I did see a little bit of rainbow colors and a flag near the end.
Herd, yes! 😉 We needed more coffee that morning for sure. Glad you enjoyed it. CO is a beautiful place.
👍❤👍
😎👍
Gallllleeee!
Don't know why I thought Telluride was in Carolinas somewhere.
Up In Rocky Mountain High local legal shrub haze!
Flapjacks & fiddles Thank God you're a Country Gays mountain oysters in bed breakfast of champions and aalllll❤
AAASPEN! Ski resort would be an experience though gotta save up for next winter🫕🏂⛷️
I was stationed in Montana and ski'd slopes there Rockies though drove up n down area
I was driving south through north Idaho eeearly morning. Came to a small tunnel then at mouth exit saw what looked like a big pile of something in middle of the two lanes
As I got closer all of a sudden these big wings erupted out and as winds out of south formed an updraft there an Golden Eagle rose up with a rabbit in talons just 20' away!!!
Aaaaanyway

🤠🏳️🌈🫕♥️🎵
Oh how we wish Telluride were closer to us! But trips out to Colorado make it so worth it each time we visit. And yes, Aspen is on our list.
Awesome to hear! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful story, next time let me know and I'll house sit for free.
*Would you like to make a fun video challenge like the whisper challenge or Chapstick Challenge*
Is Todd not a morning person? Are you both night-owls?
Definitely night owls here! 🤣
I smile every time I watch your video's. This planet we are riding in space will fill our hearts with magnificent visual beauty
I want to subscribe but can’t take this no talking just endless music and endless camera cuts. Not for me.
Sorry to hear. This was a road trip, so it was a little different from our usual format. We hope you'll check out our other videos and reconsider. 👍
I was gonna ask about Wally! Glad he was with family. Thanks for bringing us along. Beautiful scenery and super cool places!
