When I first saw the reveal for Piranha plant for a moment I thought it was going to be Geno... :( But... he still has a chance at DLC. I know people have said they saw him as a spirit (in one of the videos or screenshots) but that's just a gamer profile icon. Plus, Wii Fit Trainer and King K. Rool are also spirits, so it doesn't deconfirm them even if they are spirits.

I never clicked together about the whole spirits tying back into the toy thing, and how you'd pretend a certain toy you had was like a toy you didn't. I dunno if it was intentional on the dev's part, but it's a great detail.
I wish now that we have Ryu& Ken, we could finally have SF vs MK by having SUB ZERO and SCORPION attack Ryu& Ken in a SMASH reveal. How awesome would it be if we saw Ryu& Ken training with all of a sudden we go from Ryu screaming a Hoduken to witnessing Ken get frozen as we hear " *swoosh* ......GET OVER HERE!!" and we see Scorpion impale Ryu with his spear and see "IT JUST GOT REAL AS MK'S SUB ZERO AND SCORPION join the fight!"??

And we haven't even got to Animal Crossing yet which was announced on the previous direct back in September which that game is coming out next year. I'm ready Nintendo. I'm really happy with Piranha Plant. It was so refreshing to have a newcomer that I genuinely didn't see coming or that has just been beaten to death with theorization, "leaks," and people talking about their top 10 lists. I wouldn't say any of the newcomers are my cup of tea, but that's fine. I have my veterans, and I wouldn't trade them for anything, and I'm glad characters like Simon are making players like you excited. But I never quite felt that spark of surprise and excitement I remember feeling looking up the Smash Dojo for Brawl back in the day. Piranha Plant brought that back. I'm also really excited for World of Light. The world map looks beautiful, and I get that some people are a little underwhelmed expecting Subspace 2.0, but most of us were probably aware that was mostly pipe dreaming. SSE was such a huge scope game feature that ate up a ton of development time for Brawl, and while it was amazing, the effort needed to make a new series of environments and enemies would definitely have meant we wouldn't have a chunk of the characters we have now for Ultimate. I think World of Light is a great medium, and I suspect there will be at least a few cool cutscenes here and there.

Though I am a bit bummed that characters that I wanted didn't make it like Decidueye, I'm happy that Sakurai went above and beyond with this game.
