Excellent review. Thank you. I just don't understand the conflict and hate. But this book gave me a better feel.

One of my former philosophy professors is an advocate for Palestinian causes (even though she herself is of Jewish heritage). This has always been one of those problems seems to intractably hard to solve, or even get my mind around, that I've been discouraged from even trying before. Sometimes when conflicts continue for generation after generation, I just throw my hands up in frustration and can't help wonder how two sets of people who believe in the same Abrahamic god could have made human beings so incorrigible.

Why do you think they believe in the same God/god?

@@hggfhh4449 I sincerely doubt they do. My former professor very much strikes me as an atheist as far as god-claims go. The identifier "Jewish" is merely one of culture and heritage.

@NicholasOfAutrecourt I got the lemon tree for Christmas only. I just started reading it today. But I do know at least some of the conflict comes from some of the Islamic beliefs. Look up sahih muslim 2922, 1767 quran 98:6, 5:51. Those verses specifically refer to the Jewish people. It says Either Jewish or people of the book which refers to Jews and Christians.v

I will admit When it comes to context I am not 100% sure on.

@@hggfhh4449 I'm not sure what any of this has to do with either the book or my former professor's religion (or lack thereof) ... but okay?
