Hello! It’s Dionna here! First of all, thank you for all of the amazing and kind comments! Kyuhyeong and were so grateful to share our story, and I’m glad it has been received well!! I just wanted to defend my husband because he’s the most caring husband ever, and some people seem to have a misconception about my childbirth situation. The translations make it seem like I gave birth and went back to work that same day… there is no way that any woman can do that!! 😆 I went into work on a Friday, and that night at home, my water broke. I was about 37 weeks pregnant. Because of my job, I am entitled to 12 weeks of maternity leave after the birth of my child. I am not entitled to any leave prior to the birth of my child, so unfortunately I had to work until the end of my pregnancy. My husband was on parental leave at this time, taking care of Sol at home. He had no say or control in how much time that I took off. He did as much as he could supporting me at home by taking care of Sol, doing all the housework, cooking, etc. There were a few comments saying that Kyuhyeong was a bad husband for allowing me to work and give birth on the same day, so I just wanted to clear that up!! Girl I have been there but when the kids were 13 and 5. I used to go in the bathroom to cry. I didn't want my children to see me but when my eldest was 18, he said he heard me on several occasions. Girl I am proud of you. It's hard but never give up nomatter what.
This is the first time I've ever in my entire life, heard a black person speaking Korean. And the family dynamic is so unique and awesome. The FIL is so loving and accepting. I can't even imagine living so far away from my family, learning a new language which I can imagine is not easy to master and live in a culture so different than my own. They are a beautiful family and I'd love to know how they met.
There’s a lot of black people on TH-cam that lives in Korea and speak it fluently. My personal favorite is Megan Moon on TH-cam! She’s a black woman thats been living in Korea for a long time and she has a husband and kids. Their family dynamic is nice to watch as well.

Aww, motherhood is not easy at all, especially when both parents have to continue working. I love to see the struggles behind everything because it makes the situation of life so real. I love her in-laws since they're very supportive, the father approved and happy that they're together. Beautiful family. Kudos to Mr. Lee, for seeing a gem for his co-worker. She is soooo alluring and beautiful!

I was wondering though did I miss what the husband does because all I saw is her working like crazy, what !!!. It's crazy that as a nurse her maternity leave entitlement is so short in comparison to his paternity leave😢 I hope that changes so other women don't have to struggle like this. She's not even entitled to any leave before giving birth 😮 Most women in my country have to take some leave at least a couple weeks before giving birth cuz it's so taxing on their body, even when they're young and in shape.
She is American so I am not suprised also she probably did not think she will deliver that exact same day. In some countries you have to stop working a couple months before to avoid that but the US has no maternity leave so...
Another commentator explained that she went to work that day and unexpectedly gave birth during her time there so thankfully not as the subtitles suggested.
Bless her heart! I couldn’t do it! If I ever leave America, I would find out how to connect with other Americans. I would need that support!! I’m happy that they are making it work!! ❤

Unfortunately, there are women in parts of the world where maternity leave is not a thing. They often have to work even right after giving birth...it is a sad reality for some. Many blessings.

The husband took a 3 year paternity leave, and he just got back to work as a firefighter thats why he is not here
