Generally prices don't fall; you have to wait until wages catch up. This is how inflation is a tax primarily on the financially least of us. Deflation is a tax on the wealthy which hold most of their wealth in assets. A 1940 Bogart movie has a scene in a diner and the menu shows a breakfast with sausage, potatoes, eggs and coffee for 35 cents. What would you pay for that today?
