I saw these for sale on line for almost $30 each!!! I was like oh hell no lol. I bought tapes at Goodwill for $0.25 each now I just need lights and to print my favorite labels. Thanks for the help
@@RetroFaerieCraftTutorials Right?! I just made one tonight with your tutorial. I had everything but the lights, and I got the lights at the dollar store for like a buck fifty. Waaaaay better than $50. I'm actually going to make some as gifts, now.
Damn. I’ve just bought one of these on Etsy for £19.99. Fool. I’m a fool. I’ll be cancelling the order and making my own I think! Thanks for this awesome video. I know it’s old, but so useful! I think I’m also in love with your voice haha
Hi! Really great idea, I wanted to do this for my son with a movie he loves so thanks for showing how to do it. I did have a question, how long should the led lights be? I see there the set you bought do not look very long at all, is there a measurement that I can have so I can buy the right length? Thank you! 😊
I collect horror tapes (especially rare films) and unfortunately I have more than a few that have succumbed to tape rot becoming unplayable (fortunately nothing super rare). At least they'll still look neat glowing on a shelf.
technically, it *is* a cassette....they were called video tape cassettes in the day...as opposed to loose reel-to-reel tapes, which I am old enough to remember, lol
Hi, mine had 10 bulbs and was a bit longer than a meter but that was quite a bit of wire to wrap so 1 meter with 10 bulbs should be perfect 😁 thanks for watching.

That’s expensive, I’m glad this was helpful to you. Thanks for watching.
Now you, too, can make some extra $$ being artsy! :-)
Do you know how we can print custom VHS labels ?
In Sweden a Matrix VHS lamp costs $40
so aesthetically pleasing
I saw these on Etsy for $50, but figured I could find a tutorial on TH-cam. Thanks! Now I can do it on my own.
No problem, thanks for watching. $50 seems a bit steep for what it is 😲

Love it so much! : )
Thank you! I've got some old VHS tapes I was planning to throw away, but now I'm gonna build this tape-lamp!
That’s great 😁 thanks for watching.
I've got a lot of old, broken Vhs tapes. Time to put them to good use :)
Lovely tutorial. I miss VHS tapes.
Oooo getting some cool 80's vibes from the neon pink and blue. Good choice there.
Thank you 😁
Excellent video! Thank you. I'm off to the charity shop to rescue some vhs. 👍👍👍
Something schools 🏫should do in art 🎨lesson I use to have a lot of vhs 📼 tapes long time ago but this looks really awesome
It feels so wrong to touch the tape...I can't wait to do it!
Such a great idea. Very creative.
So glad I came across this!!!! Thank you for the awesome idea and guide! I have sooooo many vhs tapes I have been hoarding lol
I had so many too I just had to find something to do with them, I couldn’t just see them get thrown out. Thanks for watching 😁
This is brilliant - going to try it out, I have got the stuff. DIY or pay some one £30 = no brainer.... 👍👍👍👍
As long as you have the cassette apart, you could paint the exterior.
When you cut the tape I nearly died inside that's an amazing wwf ppv...
It had been stored badly and was no longer watchable. No working vhs’ were harmed in the making of this tutorial 😁
@@RetroFaerieCraftTutorials hahaha that's amazing 😁

I’m happy you found it useful, thanks for watching.
Didn’t know you had to take the actual tape out to do this, too bad it’s not useable anymore.
Love this idea! I’m going to try it 💜

It only had 20 lights on so think it may have been a 2meter wire

Thank you 😁 got plenty of vhs tapes from when I was a kid and thought I might as well use them for something 😆
Use your VHS vcr videorecorders and blank VHS tapes to get even with the news media and tell your friends to just use their vcr videorecorders !

It's alright to call it a cassette... that's what it is. a video cassette.
