You're such a fantastic tutor, Fiona. I know that even recording, annotating and uploading a _short_ video is a lot of work, so I hope you know how appreciated you are, and feel all the warmth heading your way... 🖤
❤❤❤ Fiona, like most of your subscribers I enjoy all your videos and appreciate your dedication and generosity in sharing your knowledge and expertise. However, I find I have to postpone watching your full-length videos for sometimes as much as two weeks as I am so busy,(or too tired,) to watch an hour long video. I have metered satellite internet as well so there are times when buffering is so bad I just can’t watch. These mini tutorials are absolutely perfect so please do continue your full-length tutorials but add minis too! Yay!!! Thank you so much! I do look forward to each one of your tutorials. Be blessed! 😊
I really appreciate you squeezing in a little tutorial for us even though you have loads to do. Yes, it was rather strange it was not your usual tutorial, but that's ok. I'm sure you will be back with your usual tutorials very soon. This was a good little video anyway, it sure looks simple to do with a lovely result. The earrings are lovely and so are the colours, anything purple I adore. The ones with green are also very pretty.💜
I enjoy all your tutorials, so anything you want to share, I will watch- long or short 😊 I love the simple beauty of these earrings❣️ thank you for sharing 💙💛💚🤍💜
Lovely tutorial Fiona. I like your longer chatting videos but this shorter version is fine too. Thank you for sharing with us even when you are very busy. Bless you.
I think it would have been nice to have the little piece free from the bigger piece, so there's a little more movement in the earrings. That being said, these are beautiful the way they are, merely a suggestion.
Thanks so much - funnily enough I did that to start with, but discounted it as they were more difficult to fit together afterwards for what was going to be a very short video tutorial - I was planning to do just that in a longer one, where I could explain how you needed to be more careful about the shaping so that they sat neatly inside one another ;) Thanks so much for your suggestion, which would of course also work perfectly for these ;)
Thanks so much - I will be doing them still, it was just lack of time for me, and interestingly some people are saying they prefer the short ones, so I will probably do a mix, so that everyone is catered for :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals 😊😍 will be waiting... but in my point of view making canes it is not that easy, it may seem easy on 📹 videos but they are really not, so I think it has to be long as you can explain and some times people can follow you at the same time doing what you do as an online course something like that... But anyway good luck me queen 👸 of canes.. lots of ❤️ love..
Thank you so very much for this video of these sweet earrings! I love them!In fact, I love all your videos! Thank you sovery much for sharing! Going to make these soo for my grand-daughters!
Love all your tutorials, long & short. Greatly appreciate your tutorials & sharing your creativity. Keep them coming. Your Wonderful & very generous. I know it takes a lot of time & effort to put a tutorial together. Thank you
Thanks so much Amanda. 🙂Sadly there's no easy soloution with reducing oddly shaped canes, you have two basic options, and it is good to think about them when you design the cane in the first place. 1. pack the outside with translucent clay to create an easy shape to reduce, you then either cut thin slices so the translucnet clay disappears into the background, or cut it away from each slice as you take them. 2. reshape the cane into a more easily reduced shape such as circle, square or triangle, and then, when it is near the size you need, reshape it with your fingers/tools to get the shape you need. I tend to use the second option. Neither gives a perfect outcome, but until we can figure a way around it, that's the best advice I can give. I hope that helps 🙂
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals Thank you for the detailed reply! I was only squishing things on one side and then getting frustrated. I'll play around with the transparent 'background' vs. reshaping slices.
Wo absolutely beautiful, love the shorts or the longs but been watching your technic’s for a long time now so I understand your process, so shorts are good, I can see once in a while longer ones for them that are new. And as always you never disappoint. lol beautiful

Hello Fiona, thank you for all your tutorials. I like your work very much. Please help me with my polymer problem. I have a little wooden cross which I want to veneer with polymer clay. The little cross is 4cm high 2 1/2 cms wide and 1/2 cms deep. What is the best way of doing it without loosing the corners and edges? I thank you for the great polymer work you have shown
Thanks so much Cathy. I am assuming the wood can be baked ? I would do it a bit at a time. First all the sides, then you can get a clean edge with your craft knife before baking. Then I'd do the bottom of the cross, bake, and finally the top. That way you can get clean and neat corners and edges as you go. I hope that helps. Good luck :)
Love these and thank you. Any video from you is greatly appreciated and I'm sure we are all grateful for all the time and effort you put into these wonderful tutorials. Have a beautiful weekend Fiona.
