Kiryu saying "look at that" to hanawa about harutos drawing definitely hit the most, the man is so proud of his grandson and literally can't show anyone other than him
The fact that THE KIRYUU KAZUMA had snot and tears running down his face shows how much he truly cared for those kids. Those kids mean the actual world to him. It’s like the flood gates opened😭
3:33:00 "You expect me to play along with your little game?" Majima showed up to a fucking cabaret club with Kiryu, in drag, and made him go on a whole date with him in-character as "Goromi." He has no room to talk.
4:06:38 a little fun fact; if a kid draws someone large, it means they find them very important. Which makes me cry even harder at the fact that Haruto was so little but still remembers Kiryu, and fondly 🥲
Seeing Kiryu break down and cry like that really puts in perspective how tough he was throughout the series. He's had a lot happen to him and his friends and he rarely, if even, shed a tear. Also shows how much he loved his kids and how happy he is they remember and miss him. Fuck me that was a hard scene to watch...
4:00:17 So Twitch chat and YT frogs, how many of us bawled at this part? Because jeezus, this was so emotional (kudos to Kiryu's VA for putting 100% into that scene)
I think what hits so hard is that like I cant remember ever seeing Kiryu break like that. After so many games/years it just feels cathartic yet so painful. Man's been through too much.
Never thought a Yakuza game would make me cry more than the scene in Yakuza 0 where Makoto finally meets her brother, but man RGG really knows how to get the onions out.
It's a shame the frogs won't get to see chat during the emotional scene of this stream. My personal favorite chat response during it was "I'm crying in my red lobster dinner".
I feel like Yakuza/LAD is the only series where you’ll get an amazing action sequence, a scene to make you cry your eyes out, do some karaoke, and see booba all in like an hour. Also if you didn’t cry at that one scene you have no soul
Spoiler warning for anyone who is reading before watching! Ray commented on a chat guess that Hanawa's previous identity was Morinaga from Y5. These two share a voice actor and honestly that's enough for me.
@@ruick78Morinaga had a vastly different jawline, and his head was very thin. Hanawa has a very square jawline and a pretty neutral head shape. The thing that leaves me feeling like it’s a bait is that there’s no logical reasoning for him to have been inducted. It’s pretty consistently implied that the Daidoji avoid making agents of random people unless they know something they shouldn’t as to prevent creating loose ends. Morinaga was in no such position that we know of, and could have easily revealed himself after Aizawa’s arrest and Kurosawa’s pseudo-retirement. Suddenly scouting him and forcing him into being an agent seems far too much of a gamble for what the Daidoji generally take. Not only that, but I don’t think the Daidoji would _ever_ consider having someone as infamous and uncertain as Kiryu managed by someone who had both a direct connection and a strong respect for him. It would be too much of a risk of conflicting interests, especially considering they both had connections to the yakuza - the Omi Alliance specifically no less. With Kiryu _and_ his handler having a deep history of conflict with the Omi, I don’t think they’d be willing to let them both so close and risk Hanawa going rogue and letting Kiryu do something he shouldn’t. At the end of the day, I just don’t see someone as persistent and resolute as Morinaga submitting to the point of hiding his identity from Kiryu himself. Morinaga’s determination was one of his defining traits, so seeing him completely content to take orders to boss Kiryu around doesn’t sit right with me. Still, they might have just forgotten him through the slog that is Yakuza 5 and I wouldn’t blame them for it.
@@scarymeunster9095Given that Morinaga's the only other person who actively pursued the Taichi Suzuki identity... Plus, why would a moment like that exist if not for implying that Hanawa is Morinaga? TWD Season 1. Kiwami 2 (Majima's story). Yakuza 6. And now, looks like Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is also going to added to the games that made Ray cry. But lets face it, we all ugly cried. That performance is why these games go so hard. *edit: Now that I think about it, this is probably Kiryu's first time ugly crying as well. Man, they knew exactly what they were doing if that's the case
That was nice. The way the game ripped out my heart and started squeezing it like a stress ball and then proceeded to punch me in the face was a nice touch.
The ending scene was rough for me, emotionally. And I thought the ending of Yakuza 6 was one of the saddest but wholesome scene in a Yakuza game but the ending scene here topped that. Kiryu's voice actor is amazing but that scene showed how above and beyond he goes to make Kiryu feel like a real person. The two, now grown up, kids "speaking" to Kiryu to the camera, telling them everything that has been going on while he has been gone to then the drawing that Haruto drew... That was it for me. And the voice actor made that scene MUCH more impactful with his amazing performance.
Takaya Kuroda. What a legendary voice actor. The way he portrayed Kiryu's tearful meltdown in that ending gives me a lump in my throat every time I hear it. It's such delicate and perfect acting.
The returning to dissolution brawl from a new perspective, the reuniting with his old friends, the Majima pleading with Kiryu to stay just a bit longer because he misses him (that line read may me so sad), the final fight, the end scene with Kiryu crying (you know you cried too), and the post credit scene with Kiryu in Hawaii; this final chapter is some peak Yakuza storytelling.
Man.... if Infinite Wealth doesn't end with Kiryu being free from the Daidoji and seeing all the kids and spending his remaining years with them at Morning Glory imma be pissed
I genuinely belive the writers are expecting the "player" to feel that way. Plus them mentioning kiryu having a successor. Next game is going to be absolutely wild.
That ending set piece with Hanawa presenting the video to Kiryu really took a lot out of me. That was one of the most emotional parts of the Yakuza series, and the camera thing at the grave was just so much. It takes a lot for a piece of media to make me tear up or cry, and that segment did it for me.
I'm completely normal about infinite wealth and have an absolutely normal amount of feelings about Kiryu's narrative arc and how it was the single most fulfilling emotional journey I've seen in any media in a VERY long time and I am definitely not denying every impulse in my body by refraining from writing an entire ted talk about how it made me feel
Spoilers for the final boss The way the Daidoji """recruited""" Shishido and Nishitani makes we wonder if the reason why so many villains supposedly dead are alive (and Kashiwagi) is because the Daidoji is kidnapping them behing Kiryus back (literally, as you see here, they don't notice it at all) and using them. That would be sooo fucking crazy. That means they can revive any dead character they want, and make Daidoji seem like an even SCARIER organization.
Kiryu being so proud of Harutos drawing and telling him how proud he is finally made me cry in any video game ever and I've been gaming for over 30 years
Nothing like seeing Ray get excited over a bunch of men taking their shirts off 🤣. Fuck that ending tho 😭 Thank you for playing and uploading these Ray, I personally couldn't get into playing them myself but I've watched every single one you've uploaded and enjoyed the ride of the stories.
1:47:38 as soon as Ray started simping for Kson during the playthrough I actually had a similar thought. Now I hope they end up collabing sometime just so she can give him shit lol
I wept at that entire final scene, thats the first time we've seen Kiryu truly breakdown, even at Kazama or Yumi's death he didn't cry this much, seeing how everyone knew he was still alive and miss him dearly, how they are all doing their best to follow the example he set, how Haruto still remembers him is truly such a beautiful send off to Kiryu's story as the protagonist, a truly heart breaking moment, this game was made with so much love for every Yakuza fan and didn't disappoint, truly beautiful ❤❤

The ending killed me, i really broke down. Kiryu gave up everything for the kids, to see how much they've grown and how much he had inspired them was amazing and heartbreaking. I haven't cried that hard in a long long time.
