    This case showed up online while I was looking at buying a new case. It was an instant buy, it ticked all the boxes and was a price I was happy to pay. I'm very happy with it, blows me away that it's so cheap but so well constructed. I would recommend this to anyone making a budget build that is conscious about looks.

    Nice case,but really don’t like the limited front airflow intake for many of these more recent cases,a nice big mesh filter would have been perfect.

      I'd swap my Enthoo Pro M Acrylic for this if it had a Fractal Meshify front panel. I love the smaller window and built in PSU shroud but not enough to sacrifice airflow.

    Spent the first five minutes complaining why the budget case didn't have LEDs then continued to add LEDs. This review is a bit off. A little too critical of a $60 case.

    "We now have Disco Fandango" ... I'm gonna steal that to use for my own nefarious purposes. I have a noctua fan that I like a lot, it's nice and quiet.. I wonder if you could take them apart and spray paint the blades and outer ring black, then put it back together?

    • @StalewindFarto
      @StalewindFarto 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that would change the weight and balance enough to make them no longer the best fans in the industry.

    • @10ee
      @10ee 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stalewind Farto1078 A couple of coats of paint wouldn't do that. I've painted Gentle Typhoons without issue, which are also very good fans. It's more that the Noctua SSO sealed bearing does not take well to being disassembled.

    • @StalewindFarto
      @StalewindFarto 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might be right, I just remember a Gamers Nexus Noctua discussion on the low clearance from blade to shroud. It was the new black/grey model in the discussion.

    Leo, this is an excellent and informative piece. I've chosen to buy this along with the phanteks LEDS. The explanation of the lighting options was particularly helpful helpful and I'm going to be transplanting my GA-Z270X-ULTRA Gaming across from a far too big Thermaltake X31 RGB TG. I found it impossible to integrate the Riing fans with the motherboard on the Thermaltake.
    So helpful, thanks again.

    After seeing this video I bought 2 x 140mm and 1 x 120mm Phanteks Halos fan frames, however the diameter of the RGB rings on the frames are actually smaller than the fans themselves therefore reducing airflow. I now have an increase of 3 - 6°C on the CPU thermals.

    Hi Leo, so I have purchased a Phanteks Eclipse P300 Case and a Corsair RM 750X Power supply. The power supply's cable is just too bold to go through those little holes ( like the 24 Pin plug, where I try to make it cross through the same place as shown in your video, it's the conjoint point is just TOOOO BOLD !). Meanwhile, I still have a 2 TB HDD that needs to be installed, that I cannot really remove those shelves that are next to the power supply. I wonder if there can be any solution for me to resolve such embarrassing circumstance :(

    P300A is more efficient with airflow! The P400A is slightly bigger with 3 non-PWM aRGB fans but costs $30-$40 more. You should buy the P300A with $10 rebate ($49.99 total before fees), then buy a value pack of aRGB PWM fans for $30-40. Same price as P400A with more airflow (according to GamersNexus (with 2 extra fans) and more fans to spare).

    I'd be very surprised if indeed Phanteks Aura/Mystique/whatever RGB adapter was not available, as it was launched like 18 months ago and hasn't changed since.
    In fact, a short search at overclockers has it (PH-CB_RGB4P) listed as in stock (100+) for 4 quid, and I'm almost certain others may offer it even cheaper.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Leo here - there is no reason why the adapter would have changed so you make a good point. The instructions for this case are amazingly brief but nonetheless I should have made the connection.

    • @proesterchen
      @proesterchen 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      KitGuruTech Yeah, what Phanteks call a manual is a bit of a joke. Plenty of white space to insert a house ad for their adapter, but no one apparently thought to type one out. 😛

    Noctua fan on CPU cooler just kills any chance of looking good and tempered glass is wasted on this case

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I'm going to disagree to this extent; tempered glass may not be necessary on this case but if Phanteks used acrylic they would be criticised for being cheap. Case manufacturers can use solid panels to kill noise (be quiet! for example) or unlined solid panels to cut costs (many examples). With windowed panels acrylic now looks cheap while tempered glass looks better, resists damage and is a plus point on the spec sheet. Phanteks has made the logical choice here and it probably added a tiny amount to the bill of materials.

    • @willsutton54
      @willsutton54 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      to me a lovely tempered glass panel displays a beautiful interior otherwise its wasted.......they would be better off putting in some nice looking led fans

    • @10ee
      @10ee 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      KitGuruTech Having scratched my share of acrylic panels I couldn't agree more with Leo here. I put a nice Hardline custom WC build in an s340 non-elite, then put the panel back on and regretted my existence when dust and a single hairline scratch ruined everything.
