    Great video Sam. What I use as a much cheaper option is to attach a small flashlight to the handle so it shines down the whole cane and lights up the floor around the tip .only a few bucks for a decent flashlight and you have a light up cane. Also plus point for me is it makes the handle thicker and more comfortable

    Thats amazing I can’t wait for the whole cane to be illuminated. I would think though it would need a bigger battery, but still cool anyway.

    Like you Sam I would need it more for dusk and dark areas. The visibility aspect, seeing me sooner than I see you is awesome. I assume if you are driving a car, riding a motorcycle, etc you can see me a whole lot better than I can see you. Electric bike, well that is a different story. Great video!

    Great video Sam, as always.
    Could you follow it up with another one testing the battery’s charge (how long does it last ?) and the cane’s water resistance (safely of course ;-) please ?
    Keep walking,
    Cheers and beers,
    Gil

    Loving the idea of the light up cane. I need one that is 120cm long at least. Also how would one go about replacing the ball tip? I go through a tip every 6 months.

      In the video I talk about how the cane is compatible with hook style tips. You just remove the little locking mechanism and switch out the tip.

    Interesting product. I would add a dimming switch so the user can adjust the brightness of the light and increase the capacity of the battery so it can last longer. 👍

    What sunglasses are you wearing 😎 on the video?

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They probably aren’t anything special. I don’t spend money on sunglasses because I always lose or break them. The important thing for me is the style, I prefer the wraparound sport style so that it blocks out the most light. But seriously, I probably paid $12 for these things!

    Hi Sam, I have a question which might be beyond your scope of knowledge but here goes. My Vision teacher commented that if the bottom section isn't red (in the U. S.) then God forbid I get hit, I may not have any legal recourse against the driver. Do you have any info about this? Thanks

    Can anyone tell me why it would be beneficial to be able to remove the battery from the cane (for example during the daytime) and leave it at home? (Not to use it as charger.) Is it heavy, etc.? Thank you in advance!

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it’s not heavy at all. Honestly, I never need an external battery during the day so I would personally leave it at home just so I didn’t have an extra item to carry around.

    I love the idea of it because I can only go out after dark, but the price! Why are gadgets to help the blind unaffordable for the average blind person?😭😭😭 I wanted the round rolling cane soo bad, and still can't afford it.

    • @libbysmithstudio
      @libbysmithstudio 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Blind Dad Life 😭😭 then why invent them? Just to torture us with the possibility of having even the smallest of conveniences? So much is really unfair. Hugs to you!

    • @libbysmithstudio
      @libbysmithstudio 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Blind Dad Life sending extra hugs then! I feel everyone should have no less than 5 hugs a day. Before covid-19, I tried to average 20-50! Being a girl, I guess it's much easier to give away hugs. Hug your kid, whether they like it or not. One day they'll remember that you always loved them and showed it daily!
