Americans need to watch this. I think that too many of us forget how much we have compared to many places in the world. Things that are trivial or commonplace to us are amazing to people from other counties. I appreciate your enthusiasm. ;)
need to watch it...why? Nothing here was of substance to avg. Americans ...weather? Cuz people fake smile? Cuz you CAN make a lot of money? Tell that to the 80 million + Americans working 2+ jobs just to pay rent, or are on Govt. assistance ...or those that without a $100,000 college degree will never go further than flipping burgers, or how the Americans doing HARD TIME IN PRISON for being caught with WEED?? Those literally dying in their homes because they're unable to afford healthcare for an operation. The funny irony here...is almost ALL of her 13 reasons were trivial. Not once did she mention anything about coming to America because of what it stands for, what it means to be an American...everything she mentioned was shallow, or about her being able to make herself rich. I think you need to reevaluate how you think Americans need to watch this because we "have it so good" ....tell that to the 20% that have less than $100 in the bank, while banks are being bailed out with trillions while they steal money.
Certainly nothing of substance to the average American that doesn’t take personal responsibility for themselves or for their outcome. Crying foul or playing the victim (even if it may be true in some regard) will ultimately doom you to one of outcomes you describe. There is a huge difference between living in America and striving to live the American dream. This Russian gal has my respect. - micro-aggression intended.
+Shelia Ellison You've obviously never seen *real* poverty. I have been around the world a few times, and I've seen families who survive by picking through garbage dumps for food and scraps to sell, who drink from ditches that smell of sewage. I've seen places where starvation - not hunger - is an everyday thing. I've seen war torn countries where surviving the day is a victory. Do we have problems here in the U.S. that need fixed? Hell yes, BUT, we also need to be aware that we have the means to fix it, we have the basic necessities, we can educate ourselves. I think *you* need to reevaluate how you view your life, your country and the world. You may not have it as good as you want it, but you do have the means to make it better and you need to have some perspective on how bad your life is compared to people elsewhere. In other words, get over yourself.
I'm talking about having perspective, which was the point of my original post. We can work to make things better - which I have been doing for my 70 years on this planet - while not having a constant pity-party about how awful *we* have it. I probably recognize the problems we face better than you, since I was in the movements back in the 60's, and haven't stopped since, but I always keep in mind that I can't succumb to feeling sorry for myself, and I see WAY too much of that nowadays. People, who, when you point out that other people have it worse, just assume that you're downplaying the issues that concern them. We're not alone on this planet, and right now in history is a damn good time to remember that. One of the things I heard from others in my travels is how arrogant and spoiled Americans seemed because they were always complaining about things that a large percentage of the world wished they had. I hope that you can have two things in your mind at a time - our problems and their problems, they're not mutually exclusive.
Well, you haven’t got sick yet with a terminal illness yet. if you’re a millionaire, you’ll be OK, you can afford it. I see you haven’t witnessed a mass shooting yet. I see you are not living in a city where people are drinking lead water. Get a bit of suntan and you’ll have ICE Gestapo asking for your papers. And when you travel to the Middle East, you’ll have a Canadian flag on your backpack and you’ll pretend you be a Canadian. You haven’t been stuck on the highway or on the airport’s for a whole day because of a snow storm. And don’t live along Tornado Alley. The truth is things are not like you see in Hallmark Christmas movies, but we’re resilient and we adapt. I just wish we had a president. It’s been three years without one.

To hear you explain the differences makes me appreciate what we have even more. If every person coming to the US had such appreciation as you do, they would be welcomed with open arms.

You made me so thankful to be an American citizen!!! You make excellent points... and yes the kombucha thing is legitimate. I am a kombucha addict who has spent time in Europe and I had a lot of trouble finding it there. Even in small cities in the US you can find it everywhere, you don't have to be in California. There are so many options in the US whether you want to live in a warm climate, mountains, beach, big city, small town, etc. I also liked your one about graduate school.

this is my first time at your channel, you remind me of a lyft driver. I told him I am 23 and I just graduated college with an AS/AA. I am transferring. I am actually" behind" because went to university was forced to leave due to health reasons. Dropped out for a year and went to community college for 2.5 years. This man said something along the line of how he is in his 40 and is too old to be in school. Like their is a cut off for what age we should be done. I told him I have a friend who is in his 60s who I met at my community college. He was at AWWED! I told him there is no age limit to going to school. He seemed very into computer programming or computer system if he was to ever go back to school. Forgot what he said.

Refunds: We've been capitalist forever so the real reason is... serving the customer is a top priority. It costs you MORE to lose customers that will move to your competition with a better refund policy. One of the things you don't like is the cost of American healthcare... and that stems from NOT having a free market (thanks, government!).
Yes, the expensive healthcare and education is big problem is America. But all these things can be solved easily by the govt (if they want). But in most of the other countries we have problems that even the govt can't solve. For example, most countries don't even have good healthcare system. At least you all have excellent healthcare facilities, maybe expensive but its alright.
Reading some of the comments below I have to say...some people are always going to gripe in any circumstance. In business, we call them the "1percenter's" I would answer then if you don't like something here, fight for change or as the girl said above, it's very easy to leave. God Bless America!
Not to be rude but you speak AMAZING ENGLISH! Almost no accent! If you didn't say you were from Russia I'd thought you were born & raised here. And your parents & grandparents. This video is great! Love your optimism!

it's possible, just buy what you need, not what you want and living with the means. But some Asians will find that hard because of the constant comparing you with your siblings or relatives and you got no choice but to spend more to conform to their expectations.
+Pfsif - Taxes may be lower in Cubaflorida but Mexifornia is still the better state in which to live (by far), if you have the money or can eek out an existence. It's also the better state for business, recreation, technology, and talent. Florida is pretty cool though, and you can afford a much nicer house for the same money. But you are right about the humidity.
About being to old to obtain your Masters Degree, I remember about fifteen years ago I was in attendance of my girlfriends graduation when she got her Masters degree. There was a lady in her graduating class who was celebrating her 100th Birthday and she was walking the graduating line and she got her Masters Degree from Arizona State University that day. I have always thought how neat that was, plus I was there to witness it. She even said a speech to her graduating class, she said your never to old to learn and accomplish your goals in life. She was a perfect example of the words she lived by. She was so upbeat and a positive person and I will always remember that moment.
depends where you live you have cheap and expensive states , cities , areas it is very different and diverse the dollar is more valuable in some states
Michigan is a super cheap state , most Illinois is cheap , Wisconsin , Minnesota are all cheap , upstate new York as well , it has nothing to with politics it just so happens most people love liberal states and areas so they are crowded and have less space so prices are higher all the top economies are liberal areas and all the top US cities are liberal the have the best jobs and opportunity and all conservative states are the ones the ones that are sparsely populated and they need to fill those seats so it is cheap for population control if California was as cheap or new York city or DC or Seattle or Portland or Boston or Hawaii it would be filled up like 1 2 3 people don't move to conservative states because they are vastly plain and not interesting that is why it's cheap not political reason the government can keep the rest of the population interested in cheaper areas instead of flooding to the west or east coast if you move there which you still can you have to be established it's smart if you ask me , we can fill up our lesser valued republican states and grow every states economy

Igor Sagaydak I am from Russia. I will never been in USA (I'm working about it :) ). And I think there is a little difference between - when the people who older then you "try to help you" and when absolutely everybody think that they know how to live and "try to help you".
No one like it anyway :)
+Елена Барабири - It's like that everywhere. Our elders and older people always want to give us advice because they have more life experience. The question is: Will we listen (or should we listen), or are we too bothered [by them] to care.
Happy Fourth of July too Marina! Glad you have made America your home 👍
You almost make me cry!!😭😭I could really feel your honest love for America when talking...
It’s my dream to live in the USA someday
I'm Justin, from Viet Nam.I'm English learner and I'm so glad to know your channel. Your sounds are extremely clear and i can understand well. Thanks
Hey! I also live in the states. Just wanted to say thank you for a great video. It's all very true and with the hectic life we tend to forget how nice it is here. So much positivity and made me feel better and be proud of where I live. Best wishes to you!
Can we be friend so far?
You seem to be a wonderful young woman. Keep working hard for what you want - that's what has made and will keep this country so great. I love your enthusiasm! Don't allow anyone to steal your joy and love for life.
All the best!
Chris in Kentucky
This video is awesome! I love your perspective of the US! I would love to hear more!
Hi Melissa how are you doing

Hello 👋
Happiest Russian I ever seen. I love you. Welcome to USA. I moved here from Sweden.
Why did you move from Sweden?
I moved to USA to become a businessman, its great to be a business man and not be taxed to death like Sweden.
@@robertlind1511 do you like the USA?
I do enjoy it here its lovely but has its issues
Thank you for the video. It is very interesting and informative. I love how you are so positive, ambitious and kind :) People like you make America a better place!
Hello how are you doing
Hello 👋
In the USA style of living, studying and the skills of speaking and way of expressing themselves is great.
I am so lucky to be an American You will have success. Enjoy your life ❤️
Hi, linguamarina. I am a Chinese programer and watched you videos in Bilibili yesterday, it was really heplful and interesting. Then I started to watch lots of your videos in TH-cam. Your experience really inpires me to improve my English better, as I also have a dream like you to start up a tech company in the silicon valley!
How do you get a green card? I want to move to USA when im 18 to become a singer
Marry an old or fat american 😀
Sara Lampret Why don’t you like America huh?
@@cazador3863 it is just a nasty joke
I hope you come here and your dreams come true
[The] White Rabbit I don’t agree. I think there is always opportunity for someone motivated to have success. I would work on a back up plan though, just because the entertainment industry can be tough
this's so amazing. love it :) one the things I liked during my visit was that almost everyone is open to questions, with a good way to discuss and explain.
It’s fantastic the way you assimilated the accent and the language.
Wow, Marina! Just found your videos. This particular one was amazing, IMO. I am a US Citizen (born and raised). Currently living in the Silicon Valley, also. Your enthusiasm in stating your reasons for moving here are so genuine. It's refreshing. Good luck w/ your business!
A Californian? Hell yes. I WILL NEVER LEAVE! HAHAHAHA
Great video Marina. Really enjoyed the content & Happy 4th of July to all Americans & Immigrants. God bless America!
6th reason is my favorite and my reason also !
Lov u Lingumarina!
You have a good mindset, keep up the good work! :)
LOVE your videos. Keep educating us. Countries in general have a LOT to share with other people in different countries. If we all could share LOVE INSTEAD of being enemies. SPREAD LOVE EVERYONE!!
You inspired me a lot, really! Thank you so much!!!
i love your point of view and especially #6! as a fellow lover of languages, cultures and travel i often fall in love with other countries and forget what makes my home country special... it's refreshing to see the US through your eyes! thank you
this is my first time at your channel, you remind me of a lyft driver.
That was really fascinating. Thank you for your video.
I love being an American, although I was born in the Philippines, I love that American assertiveness, and being open to things, Come on, the food, places and etc.
Hello

Love your show your the best at what you do. 🤠
Hi, came over from Sarah's channel! love this video and have subscribed!
You are so fun to watch! I'm an american, and i literally am thrilled about many things about our country all the time. just like you! even though i was born here. People say i act like a tourist but realize i just have JOY in my heart.
Hi....all ur reason are fully valid. I totally agree....i m new to US and just moved from india. I am right feeling exact you said in point no 9. When i reached i felt like i moved to a hollywood movie. Exactly what v see is same here omg ...reality nd the fiction is same. Very nice vedio.
Freedom. God bless America.🇺🇲 ♥️
She's getting the accent
11 is also really inspiring, sorry for the repeat comments i'm just loving this video!!
@@vishalj27 As an Indian I can agree. Our healthcare is not that great
Your perspective is wonderful. Congratulations on picking up on some the ways I see my country. It's awesome to have you.
you should make a video about the cost of living in USA
She already made it on her Russian channel
+Kamron Khisravdinov sorry bro don't understand russian
Should make a video about how expensive US school fee is.
fairly cheap even in good areas
I don't think so, because everyone here live with an different economy. it's not the same México to your country or just living USA
This girl is amazing and really nice. I cant stop watching her videos)))
Hi
Here from Sarah's channel 🙌🏻
Reading some of the comments below I have to say...some people are always going to gripe in any circumstance. In business, we call them the "1percenter's" I would answer then if you don't like something here, fight for change or as the girl said above, it's very easy to leave. God Bless America!
Not to be rude but you speak AMAZING ENGLISH! Almost no accent! If you didn't say you were from Russia I'd thought you were born & raised here. And your parents & grandparents. This video is great! Love your optimism!
I said this before it doesn't matter if she had a Russian accent as long as she has a good to meaning of the English language she'll be fine.
I enjoyed your video, I hope many people realize what America has to offer, where always trying to make America better and your a nice addition.
USA rocks! I love there too! Specially San Fran.
I live in Brazil. My biggest dream is to live in the US.
My biggest dream is to visit Brazil and to possibly have dual citizenship.
Come soon!!
Florida in the summer can be hell, high humidity and lots of bugs. Love you take on the USA, best of luck.
Point no.6
Freedom .
I agree completely with you.
That's the best thing I liked in the US.
Every of your video always contents a motivation to lift spirit up. Thank Marina!
I love USA... land of the free home of the brave!
Land of the free that don´t have basic healthcare..
Thomas J Voss I have healthcare tho
Marcos Burgos Jr You are lucky, try be someone with a chronic illness they will never be able to afford something so basic with a normal job. God forbid they get cancer or something, they will lose everything they ever worked for if they survive. Even in the most terrible economic in south of Europe they got free healthcare
OceanBlue I’ll cross my fingers you never fall on bad luck 🤞🏿😄
@@marcosburgosjr585 yeah that is something that needs to be fixed.
Thank u sooo much marina 😍❤ u really help me too much to get learnin' American english as well .. I'm ur big fan from Morocco .. u really deserve millions subscribes and likes 'cause u're the best🌸 u rock !!
Just keep the videos commin' 😊❤
what i don't understand people say they hate America and Americans they say we Americans are stupid i see they love to move here explain that
It's called envy !
@@shyanneismyall2540 that is it exactly and I have had a couple Brits that moved here admit that is why there is so much trash talk, i knew it before they even said it.
I'm from Germany and I want to move to America some day. I know I'll have to work hard for it, but it's worth it. ❤️
Have you considered Canada. Because if you haven't you should. Or Sweden
the tax aspect is what put me off though...I m living in Hong Kong with a very low tax environment. It seems much harder to save money in the states with its high income tax rate
it's possible, just buy what you need, not what you want and living with the means. But some Asians will find that hard because of the constant comparing you with your siblings or relatives and you got no choice but to spend more to conform to their expectations.
Gem Pony depends on what state you live in
Many states have low taxes and even within the state counties can have lower taxes.
Marina! I am so happy you chose America to live. May you always be happy successful. Live long and prosper, peace and long life.
you remind me of that drama series (Tha Americans) when a Russian couple keep comparing everything in the states to Russian lifestyle
Love! Were glad you're here linguamarina!
Florida is the "Sunshine" state and the taxes are WAY lower than Mexifornina.
California's climate is more comfortable but certainly not worth the extra taxes. I'd rather sweat a little more.
AMEN to that
Pfsif Florida should be bombed out of existence
+Pfsif - Taxes may be lower in Cubaflorida but Mexifornia is still the better state in which to live (by far), if you have the money or can eek out an existence. It's also the better state for business, recreation, technology, and talent. Florida is pretty cool though, and you can afford a much nicer house for the same money. But you are right about the humidity.
Floricuba is so gross, and I've lived in both states.
It's nice to notice that you become more smiling and happier in this place. Go on and good luck!!!
I want to move from the UK to US so bad
What about Canada? Or Germany??
About being to old to obtain your Masters Degree, I remember about fifteen years ago I was in attendance of my girlfriends graduation when she got her Masters degree. There was a lady in her graduating class who was celebrating her 100th Birthday and she was walking the graduating line and she got her Masters Degree from Arizona State University that day. I have always thought how neat that was, plus I was there to witness it. She even said a speech to her graduating class, she said your never to old to learn and accomplish your goals in life. She was a perfect example of the words she lived by. She was so upbeat and a positive person and I will always remember that moment.
Thank you Russia for this gift of a smart, independant, entrepenuer, beautiful women!
We are glad to have you here greetings from Berkeley California
And we (Americans) are very lucky to have you here! :-)
9:40 100% agree, same feeling when I visited US (Cali, Louisiana, New York - every place looked like in the movies) :)
Louisiana is my favorite place in the whole world 🖤⚜️
USA. OMG . is my dream , which I wish to achieve.I have one question for you+linguamarina. whether the cost of living is high, low or appropriate.
depends where you live you have cheap and expensive states , cities , areas it is very different and diverse the dollar is more valuable in some states
It all depends on where you are living and what type of lifestyle (cheap or expensive) you are planning on living. Come, start small and save 😊
Ok , thank you so much
thanks 😊
Michigan is a super cheap state , most Illinois is cheap , Wisconsin , Minnesota are all cheap , upstate new York as well , it has nothing to with politics it just so happens most people love liberal states and areas so they are crowded and have less space so prices are higher all the top economies are liberal areas and all the top US cities are liberal the have the best jobs and opportunity and all conservative states are the ones the ones that are sparsely populated and they need to fill those seats so it is cheap for population control if California was as cheap or new York city or DC or Seattle or Portland or Boston or Hawaii it would be filled up like 1 2 3 people don't move to conservative states because they are vastly plain and not interesting that is why it's cheap not political reason
the government can keep the rest of the population interested in cheaper areas instead of flooding to the west or east coast if you move there which you still can you have to be established it's smart if you ask me , we can fill up our lesser valued republican states and grow every states economy
I love your video's, I'm from India. ❤️
i love usa too
What I had no idea about the refunds thing!!!! I’ve always done this!
if youre russian, you can go to guam without a visa
I would live in Singapore, because of the safety, cleanliness, and as a retired citizen. I know it is super expensive, so I will live in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and just do my visa run to Singapore. I love shopping online also.
