There’s art also in being able to deliver such a fine narrative in such an engaging and unpretentious manner, and thank you so much for this podcast. Because of my job, I’ve had the privilege to visit major art collections all over the world. Within so many exquisite paintings in often vast collections and with so little time, there are only three artists who have stopped me in my tracks: Vermeer, Goya, and Caravaggio. As I age, it’s Caravaggio. Stunning art, but also the irony, and the immense power of transgression. Poor Isaac.
Been waiting for this one for ages! Thank you, Professor Bolelli! Caravaggio is my favorite refrormist/baroque artist. 'The Calling of St. Matthew' is one of the best paintings ever.
Doing a tour of the Caravaggio paintings is a beautiful way to explore Roma. You see many churches, the oft-overlooked art museum in the Vatican, several smaller gallerias, and the Borghese estate. I was particularly appreciative that it took me to churches and gallerias I otherwise might not have been visited.
I would LOVE for you to point me to, or create, these bible stories that sound like reality tv. I remembered hearing quite a few and that would be a SMASH to have a collection of those. They were hysterical.
We did a segment of those on old Drunken Taoist episodes. If you word search 'bible' here, you should find them all: thedrunkentaoist.com/episodes/archive
I'm still waiting to hear you tell us why mentioning that you're a martial artist is relevant do the topics LOL. also can you teach me taekwondo please

Excellent podcast. Love Daniele’s personal stories, e.g. about kissing wildly in a thunderstorm and drinking sangria in the Campo de Fiori
That was indeed a good day :)
