One of the best jockey in the world, the one and only Gary Richards. God continue to bless you in your going out and coming in. Love you like a circle my handsome brother. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's ok to say Gary was your favorite rider....but don't bother talk foolishness about being the best in the world..... Gary himself would laugh you to scorn. He was a good rider...let's stop there!
Respect Gary one of the greatest you came into racing when racing was at its peak Bimbo and Fanna rivalry race track full every race day wasn’t it you who rode Royal Dad on his 7 th strait win with the light weight
Nice rider,, this great rider thing stop it.. decent.. great win on "more mango" on the turf.. Jamaica have one great rider... Emilio bimbo Rodriguez.. the man angel cordero call the JAMAICAN GIANT..
One of the best races he ever rode was when he partnered Royal Dad to his ninth consecutive win in 1981, surpassing Legal Light's record breaking feat, and also equalled the track record (1:23 1/5 second) in the process, which had been held by Sugar Ray since 1976. May Day Boy, partnered by Everton Miller with the feather weight, looked all over a winner a furlong out, but somehow Gary got Royal Dad to spurt wings and got up in the nick of time. This, after being carried very wide by Sirocco (Narry Ramgeet) at the quarter pole. It was an A2 five-horse field, which General Q and Impetuous complemented in that order. I wish someone would ask Gary Richards or Everton Miller about that race in an interview because that race left the track abuzz with excitement and was something to behold 🎇 🎆 🎉😂😂
That race when he won with Royal Dad.... beating May Day Boy by the slimmest of margins must go down as one of the most thrilling finish at Caymanas Park...He proved himself that day that he was a TALENTED rider! The memory of that race brings goosebumps!
@wayneanthony1089 Goosebumps indeed, bro. It beats me how nobody has ever brought up that intriguing race to them in an interview. I was hoping he or Everton Miller talked about it. Royal Dad surpassing Legal Light's win record, etc, especially where he was carried wide, coming into the straight. but overcame it all.
@8Furlongstv Sounds good and thanks for acknowledging my suggestion. Gary was dazzling early in his career and would surely have won multiple championship titles if he hadn't been suspended for seven years in October of '82. He would have taken over Feanny stable when Bimbo was flirting with riding in the U.S. in the mid 80s. That's life, though.
Thanks for sharing this interview family, I am glad to know that Gary Richards gave his life to the Lord, may The Lord bless you and family sir and I pray that your channel will keep on growing. Is is possible to get an interview with Neville Anderson and Fitzroy Gillespie?
This jockey was very good back in the day so much so that up to this day he is the only jockey I've seen bring a horse on the rail to catch and beat Andrew Ramgeet no another jockey that's how good he was
Througout the whole interview, him never mention Everton Miller name ,and him,Everton Miller,Parnell Linton,Wayne Sinclair, and Saudie Thomas were some of the best young riders during those time.

Marlon, you don’t say. This unlike all the interviews that you are used to clearly. It was not meant to be a sit down interview that a talk show host would do. I thought anyone with a brain would know that. Do you have any great interview skills you’d like to share?
Big up the interviewer and the cameraman great job looking forward to part 2

Glad to know that Gary is now a Christian you should've asked him if he has mend fences with Everton Miller that would be so good
True that but maybe he did not want to ask him in public if he mended fences with Everton Miller.
