I can imagine it’s hard in your profession where you feel like you always have to purchase everything from every collection to provide content for us. I’ve been decorating my house over the last two years and all of my furniture was an investment, but I expect to have every item for the next 10+ years. It’s also taking me years to decorate, even with decor pieces that I shop from HomeGoods, Target etc. I need to know that I’m going to love it more than just a season. The prices of things are so expensive everywhere that it’s worth just saving up and getting one main item that you really love versus two or three items that you just “like”. I appreciate your channel and all the shopping you do for us. ❤
I wholeheartedly feel this comment. I have come to realize decorating takes a lot of thought and time, and the pressure of decorating for each holiday, each season, etc, has to become difficult. I wonder what would happen if a creator decided to save their money and just use what they have. Would people watch? Would people say mean things like " you're just reusing the same things?" You really don't have the option to not spend money on new things for more than maybe a month.
20 years ago I bought Hooker furniture, I had no idea that it would go up in value so much that I couldn't even afford to rebut it now. I say if you want to change furniture out every ten years I suggest people buy middle of the road 🛣️ furniture price wise. That makes it easy to swap around if you want, too! I feel like I can't change it out
@@stardustgirl2904 I guess I said 10 plus years as the minimum. Nothing I’ve purchased will be turned over and should last a long time and then some. I also believe it will stand the test of time style wise, but I hear you though. Quality furniture should get better with time!
What do you do when you change the decor? Where is the old decor going, storage, trashed, or gifts? How often do you update your house? Every 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years?
Yes, I ALSO prefer Marshall’s over TJMax…BUT when it comes to home decor I most def prefer homegoods. Marshall’s is the place to go for clothing, handbags, and accessories
So excited to see your haul tomorrow! I know the office will turn out amazing! It was fun shopping with you today☺️ Thank you so much for sharing. Have a wonderful day 🤗💖✨
Katie. That's where I'm at with buying furniture, so sick of buying crap. I mean they're great if you're never ever going to move it. The second you start moving, like the Alex drawers from Ikea or big book cases. I really am not sure about buying these arched cabinets that I know aren't solid wood, but if I'm not mistaken, even the high end stores are particle board. I dunno :(
You will never regret spending money on quality, timeless furniture. Most of the hard goods in our home are 20, 30, 35 years old. And my mom’s lingerie cabinet, that I will inherit, is currently 55 years old and still a gorgeous piece. I went into our Marshall’s Wednesday….and left with nothing. It’s just junky to me, I can never find much.
I truly enjoy your videos, however, there are a lot of seniors who like things that are purely for decor and ornate, they can't do a lot of shopping and we count on you. You are fabulous already. Think of, just going over everything. You are already doing a fine job.
THANKS KATIE ❤ WOW you're really doing a huge makeover. I think everything you looked at will blend well with your existing decor. Did you get a new sofa? Just trying to guess. Can't wait for tomorrow 😊
I just brought a great 3 bowl feeder at Chewy. You have a great eye and good camera skills but too much with the hand gestures popping in and out of the view. So distracting when you are looking at something. The only time your hands should be in view is when you are adjusting an item to show a better view. You have potential to be really good at this.
Great video, Katie. My TKMaxx (it’s TJMaxx only in the US) had some gorgeous globes from ‘Made in India’. You would’ve loved them. I should’ve taken pics. You know I love me some Hearth & Hand, so I’m so glad you got the perpetual calendar.
Excited to see it all. I feel like everyone is doing a refresh right now. Home Goods has had some really nice decor pieces lately, and I just can’t help myself 😂. I agree about TJMaxx, I feel like it’s always a wasted trip. Loved that little checkered pillow you had, it might work for my couch. Have a great week 😊
We have a TJ Maxx and Home Goods but no Marshall's. I LOVE Marshall's too! I usually can find things in there that the other stores don't ever have. Can't wait to see your haul tomorrow!
Very excited to see your haul!! Happy shopping!! I need to go to Home Goods, I have had a $100 gift card sitting in my wallet since last Spring, lol. I was waiting until we redo the last guest room to use it. Hopefully soon, I had to postpone it bc of my surgery. I love redecorating!! ❤
Katie, My Texas House is launching artwork, rugs & bedding online Feb 12, Monday @ noon Central Time. Yes, everything is costing more. Happy Vday! cgzone8
Hi Katie! I follow Nick Lewis on TH-cam and he had a video done recently on pieces from ikea that are made of real wood or mostly real wood for reference. He is very knowledgeable and I think you would enjoy his channel. 😊❤
I have neutral walls, & furniture…am NOT a fan of ALL boring neutrals where the pillows, throws, candles, decor are Also neutral. I’m a 59yr old interior designer(by trade), and have owned 7homes. My tastes HAVE changed as I’ve aged. So that’s to be expected. I’ve mostly owned traditional country farmhouse style homes, but I currently live in a ‘gingerbread’ STYLE Single level Victorian amongst towering Fir trees. Those brass/gold pictures frames and mirrors ARE NOT Anthrolpogy dupes. Anthropolgy DOES not have patent on that style…IT IS IN FACT Victorian!,,,
What a weird comment. And I think you missed something here. Katie never said anything abut what “style” of decor it was, nor did she attribute Anthropologie for designing the style. The picture frames ARE Anthropologie “dupes,” as in they look very similar to the line of ornate gilded framed and mirrors sold at Anthropologie that very very expensive.
If you work from home, at least you can write those expenses off your taxes, including the office room… well we can in California; don’t know about Florida.

@@Patricia-sw4prunfortunately people probably would complain 😅. However for the majority of people it’s probably very relatable.
Really… “Profession” I work 45 hours a week and this woman shops and you call it “profession and hard”🤦🏻♀️
What do you do when you change the decor? Where is the old decor going, storage, trashed, or gifts? How often do you update your house? Every 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years?
Have you considered shopping second hand stores or vintage/antique shops? Give them a shot?

Love your videos. Marshall’s and HomeGoods are my go to stores for decor. You’re a true inspiration.❤❤❤

The chain link & spherical pillows would be dog toys right away in my house. 😂😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤love to see how you styled, Brean office, yes !!!!
This was great!!!
I'm super excited to see your haul!!! 💕

Thanks can't wait for the haul.
I agree that I like Marshall’s more than TJmaxx!
What fun!!! Can't wait to see!!! The target wavy bowl reminds me of a taco baker thing😮 😆!
The pumps always break. I just use my bath and body hand soap. I love your style. you do a great job at decorating.
We have the Hearth and Hand soap dispenser, absolutely no issues!
I'm pretty sure they have the bookshelf you're looking for at Sam's Club
Hi Katie! Ooh.. love the vases! Have a great weekend👍🏼

I also prefer Marshalls! Its just my go to. Also, LOVE the checkered pillow! Definitely looking for that during my weekly shopping trip today😍
Hey Katie, in California TJ Maxx and HomeGoods are one store! And it's pretty nice it saves driving time.

I’m going to be in Orlando next week! I hope I run into you at Target! ❤
Someone please let Katie know they have that white/ gold globe with gold stand@ Micheals
I LOVE the gilded frames, love them. I collect the vintage ones and have them everywhere.., it’s an addiction

I can’t wait to see your haul!! ❤😊❤
I always love your big shopping sprees! I want all the things too 😂
Can not wait to see your end results🥰
Katie what is the name of wallmart bookshelf?

So fun!
Lots of good finds! Actually my TJ Maxx has way more than my Marshall's. None of my stores are in close proximity to each other.

My Home Goods is the best.
Yes agree Marshall’s is better over TJMax
If you work from home, at least you can write those expenses off your taxes, including the office room… well we can in California; don’t know about Florida.
The checkered stuff is so on trend right now, but I feel like it's going to be over in a year or 2, tops.
I can definitely see that!!! I love it but i'm trying to stay away!
@@KatieVining Love the videos!
We only have a tj maxx, and it isn't that great of a store I never buy anything there.
I used to love marshall over tjmax but lately marshall is like a war zone.
