By whos standards? Who made the rules how we should give God praise? If you do your research you will find the world got what they doing from the church. Look at famous artist like Ray Charles and many others.
Was enjoying the video until this. Why do we think that to reach the young people we have to act like 106 & Park? Why do we continue train our kids to only appreciate music that the world loves? I don't understand...it doesn't have to be that way. They can enjoy anointed music that can change them.
Can't think of it like that, sis! Why can't being a Christian be fun also? We are losing our youth because they don't see the fun in serving God. So, if lil Rufus got to do the "Dougie" for the kids to feel like they are a part of worship, then we dancing!!! I think we serve a BIG GOD who is out of the box. We can't forget that the youth are the future of the Church. Without them...we can pack it up.

I have children myself so I know that they need to have fun in the Lord. Im not sure why you feel that "mimicking" the world means "fun" in God..I guess that means the devil has the right idea and God needs his help to keep the youth in the church? Can I ask the question?...since the church has been showing our youth that it's okay to act like, talk like, dance like the secular world etc...do we have more young people now that are full of God's word? Full of a desire to win souls and witness for God? Do we have more young people in the church that are growing from "just having fun in church" to youth that can teach a bible study? What I am saying is at some point we must understand that the message does not change, but our vehicles for providing that message must be altered somewhat. As a parent, you must admit that what you did in your younger years does not hold the interest of your children? The clothes, the games, the phones are even different. Imagine trying to explain the reason for "POPCORN" or "PAGERS"??? The times have command that we use different options to accomplish the same goals we once did. The message of Salvation is unchanging, but the Evangelism that must take place to reach this generation is changing quickly. That's all I am saying...I just believe Churches are missing great opportunities by overlooking young people. We are worried about dancing and secular mess, when the Jesus we talk about is not the Jesus we portray (Not attacking what you said). Once again, I agree with all that you have said...be blessed!!
Khadijia Think about the message and not the beat, with rap music no one listen to the message it is only the beat until they realize they are calling them out of character. I get where you are coming from, but look at how many children that was at the concert. At least Pastor Kee brought some entertainment for the children. Think about most of those kids didn't know who John P Kee was before the concert. Jesus spoke to everyone, we must reach the masses and that means the generations behind us also.
Janelle, I also understand where you're coming from as well. But has anyone stopped to ask the Lord what He thinks. I imagine it's like if you came to my house for dinner (I'm of' Jamaican decent) so I would cook up for you...curry chicken or curry goat with rice and a nice salad on the side. then instead of a plate I go out to the back alley where the garbage cans are a take the metal lid off bring it back and use that as a plate for your meal. Yummy right? Asking people to ignore the music and pay attention to the message is like eating my yummy meal and ignoring the nasty metal lid that it's served on. What if God feels the same way? We look at how many kids enjoyed themselves, God was very serious about not mixing godly with the ungodly..Im happy for the kiddies too but at the end of the day we have to just trust the Lord and his word. His way is always the correct way. Remember, his ways are not our ways...if it's separating he wants..that's how it should be as cold as it sounds.
For those who know anything about Pastor Kee's ministry, you'd know that he goes far and beyond the norm to reach people and spread the word. I've been following this man since I was a kid and his brave and bold attitude to present the Lord to the streets is a bit different than anybody else. Even in your own immediate families, you can pick your children apart and display their differences, so maybe one day we'll all be around when God decides to pick us apart and reveal ours and our works. Pastor Kee has in no way kept himself behind closed doors. He's beat, embraced, and encouraged those outside of the doors and on the same streets that he sold drugs. We're not always comfortable with everybody's walk in life, and that's honest, but we're obligated to love and respect each other. The church is so hypocritical when it comes to everything, not knowing that we're in the same struggle. Do your part, let God have the final say so.

Im tired of organizations pimping people with jurisdictional dues and paying for titles and positions.... show me JESUS dont show me what I already know in the world... these are familiar spirits... the music itself is NOT the sin its the rebellion to try to sneak worldliness into the church and calling it praise and worship. Im a musician and I knew what I was talking about in my first comment. I know worldly music and I know gospel. NOT okay. These precious babies need to learn who their savior is, not through entertainment. We need to teach the holiness, to cry to the Lord in times of trouble. We are in a war, especially these babies Lord have mercy, we don't know what they have seen, discovered, been dealing with and all we can do is entertain them in church naw, they need to be at the altar being filled with a desire to get to know who Jesus Christ is and how He saved their souls from hell. This saddens me deeply.
