Unpopular opinion, the Newborn is awesome. I get that it's design isn't as "cool" as your standard xenomorph, but as far as a fucked up mix of xenomorph and human goes, I think its pretty great. The way it behaves in the movie feels quite believable too. You can see it switching between both its vulnerable human side and apex predator xenomorph side.
I personally find it to be really uncanny looking so it just really creeps me out
I like it. But I can never sit through that ending. It's terrible.
Yeah, it's not the best film in the series, but it definitely has some interesting ideas and design choices.
Having it kill the queen made me instantly dislike it. It’s the same reason nobody like the spinosaurus in jp3. You can’t introduce a new monster and have it immediately kill off an iconic monster just to prove how “cool” it is
i absolutely hate resurrection as a movie. i think it takes a piss on the series. the newborn is one of the coolest looking monster puppets ive ever seen, at least in its ability to emote the way it does.

This was a really cool way to showcase of all of them! Very well done.
The newborn is hands down the creepiest monster in all of the franchise, the fact it is so eerily human like and at the same time both violent and curious is down right terrifying. I can only imagine what it would have grown into...i could actually picture it as Steppenwolf from Zach Snyders Justice League.
Great video! However, for anyone who is curious, the original Xenomorph from 1979 didn't have the modern designed legs like you see here, they were much closer to a humans.
I'm so happy the creative teams managed to design the Xenoporph into a believable creature onwards. Humans are the only animals on the planet that step on their heels while walking, because the body is not designed for that, that is why we have knees, hips and lower back problems and pains overtime (sorry creationists but God did not create us, we get to walk badly for the social evolution need to stand up straight which is counterproductive for our bodies)
Also it's smaller than in the video. 6-7 feet in height.
The drone in this video is actually the one from Alien Isolation.

The Grid isnt a type of Xenomorph its just a regular drone or warrior that got scarred by that steel net and got its cool nickname. Other than that amazing video and much easier to remember than ALL the different variations of Xenomorphs we get from comics, video games and toylines and THEIR bursters and facehuggers XD
The original Big Chap Alien from the first movie doesn’t look like that at all too. It literally has human like legs because it’s just a man in a suit. Also technically the alien from 3 is the Dog Alien.
The Grid from AvP is a Drone (not a warrior) very similar to the ones from Resurrection.

Big Chap (Xenomorph Drone 1979) is my personal favorite, but Newborn is a close second because of his humanity and relation to Ripley.

Thank you for making this video! I don't know how long it took to rig the creatures, render etc but it was a real treat to this hardcore Alien fan!
The drone alien for 1979 is incorrect, it wasn't until Alien: Resurrection that the drones with double jointed leg were introduced. The Alien in the original film had a single knee joint, the same as the human wearing the suit.
I don’t know if this counts but in alien isolation the devs changed the legs to look like a creature that would move faster basically introduced the double knee joint but before that it was normal “human like legs and I think that’s what film core choose as for design of the drone.

It’s interesting how that first drone was actually taller than the warrior despite the warrior being a dedicated combat form of xenomorph and the drone just being a worker.

There's just some few mistakes about the looking of some aliens. The original Alien (from Giger) has normal feet as a human and doesn't walk on his toes like a dog.
The warrior Aliens (from James) are just a little bit bulkier than in this video.
And the legendary Aliens queen (from Stan and James) is totally different. Here we have more the AVP's queen (different body, shape, crown, taller and bulky as a T-rex). The original and true queen is a very feminine creature, elegant, very very thin and walk with a very particular posture.
But again, this job is amazing! Thanks for sharing.
The type of feet dogs have are called digitigrade feet.
As you can already tell, digitigrade feet is classified when a species walks on their toes; plantigrade feet is when a species uses their entire foot to walk (examples include crocodiles, bears, and us humans); and unguligrade feet is when a species walks on hooves.
So in context of the alien franchise, the original alien has plantigrade feet; while other versions of the Xenomorph have digitigrade feet.
(Actually the more I think about it now, why am I applying biology the the “Alien” franchise? I’m not even an Alien fan.)

Really liked this - a great video... However I only have one criticism - the "dogs leg" feature of the xenomorph only made an appearance from Alien3 onwards! Have you thought about rendering this in a VR video for headsets - would be pretty amazing in stereoscopic 3d. Or even also as a VR experience if you made this using a game engine.
