About embroidery songs. With the outbreak of the war musicians began to use a lot of national motives in their songs. At first it seemed ok. But then it became obvious that most of these artists were simply riding the trend. Their lyrics don't even sound sincere. Part of the audience began to annoy such songs. We even got jokes about what words should be used in a song to make it patriotic. "Kozak", "bayraktar", "freedom", "vyshyvanka", "motherland". You can also use the names of birds or plants, which are often sung in Ukrainian poetry: “swallow”, “crane”, “nightingale”, “stork”, “cuckoo”, “poplar”, “viburnum”, “willow”, “oak”, “wheat” and the like. It sounds funny, but some people really use these words as patriotic clichés. A bunch of songs with viburnum, swallows and Cossacks. With all due respect to the Cossacks, this is too much. I understand when Cossack Siromaha sings Ukrainian songs. But he is trying to modernize folk songs, and does not make the fast food that some musicians cook. We even had a discussion about how to show patriotism in songs without Cossacks and swallows. In fact, creative, modern patriotism is not the easiest thing to do. Many musicians don't want to bother inventing something new. They are simply looking for a recipe that will ensure their success without risk. Like those film studios that are constantly shooting the continuation of one popular film. Personally, I think TVORCHI's songs "Heart of Steel" and "Hidden Code" are a good example of patriotism. Many people in Ukraine, thinking about patriotism, think about the historical heritage and the distant past. But TVORCHI think of more modern things.
