hey! Raygun is the only person in the world with a PhD in Breakin'! She studied for 20 years 400 books and many 2000word assignments which showcase in her ability to move. She is better than the rest.
I’m here post Olympics because I don’t know anything about breaking but something seemed really off about that Aussie competitor. So I thought I’d find out for myself what it’s supposed to look like. What I’m seeing here is immense muscle control and smooth movements and amazing core distal movement. Ami’s level of articulation is better than India’s though. Her movements are clean and sharp. Suffice it to say, Australia’s performance lacked all of these qualities. The competitors who put the work and technique into this art have my respect and I think it would be good to see more breaking in the Olympics in the future.
Maybe there's a method in Raygun's madness? There is suddenly a whole lot more engagement with breaking now. There's been a huge surge in TH-cam views.
Breakdancing was created in the South Bronx in the 80's by Black and Hispanic kids. I grew up in NYC, in the South Bronx during the birth of Hip Hop and break dancing. I can tell you this takes a lot of skill. A lot of kids literally broke their necks trying to perfect this art. Ray gun is a joke but I'm glad that she's showing people what it shouldn't look like.😂
@@alarchwen6123 there's a lot more to it. There were competitors who actually beat Raygun, but the judging panel was corrupt, between having her husband on it, and a guy she paid as part of her 'breaking discertation' to interview voting for her and the rest of the judges being mostly people she had already known. then they made the requirements to try out so ridiculous and last minute that the REAL breakers couldn't even sign up and wouldn't have enough time to sign up in the 2 affiliations AND get their passport sorted. They required the passport BEFORE auditioning. Which is nuts.
It's so interesting to see how different their styles are... India with the large and expressive movements, Ami with the super clean and tight movements
She doesn't need to see this. She's competed with these bgirls many times in the past. Raygun knew she could not compete with them physically (through power moves), so she hoped to go for style, which hilariously backfired...
I practice capoeira with a female master so I'm privileged to see this girl swag to the max on a weekly basis. The women in male dominated sports are amazing, they deserve all the kudos and recognition 👏👏
Real close here... it could have gone either way. They may have like Ami's tops and foundation just over India's . India ain't going nowhere and will be back.
@@namenl2205 Absolutely, that flex move she did on her hands with her legs sticking out was fire. I had to back up and watch it a couple of times. She should've won.
@namenl2205 the flairs, the windmills, the baby mills and she did that cross windmill to a worm which was dope. India is hands down the better dancer.
India brought more power and energy, that's for sure. But she is a bit sloppy in some transition. Japan, while less energy and a bit boring, was definitely more technical and smooth. Both have foundations. Honestly could gone either way depending on criteria
This was close. I personally prefer power moves, but Ami was cleaner and more style. Wish she did a quick run with more power moves though. Back in the day it was all about the power moves for the visuals alone.
India brought me energy and power for sure. But it is almost kind of chaotic in a good way. Flaw was probably too fast to digest. It's a bit sloopy, too. But overall, for a girl, it's great! Ami was definitely smoother and more technical. She took her time more efficiently to show her piece. It's easier to read and take in. But not gonna lie... The flaws is it a bit boring. In the Ami won because she its all around better interms of citeria.
India had the big energetic moves but ami's routine was overall cleaner and smoother. Really either could have won but I agree with the judges because I preferred ami's dance
India was 🔥 but Ami have the experience here is the inflection point between them... I think if Ayumi participate in this version of BC One World Final it would have been the 1st competitor for ami and the title 💯💯🙌🙌
I was in a breakin' crew in high school. Both have skills definitely. Ami has smoother moves with clean footwork. Unfortunately the music was not the best to break to lol
@@hassankampos922 I know thanks you, found it month later just like you lol, now I'm looking for the thousands other sounds I can't find on other redbull videos :/
India is fire but she just needs to be more humble and keep it more clean. Here shows what power and Adderall looks like vs clean just having fun with it. Shots out to both Bgurls💪💪
It’s a battle - you can be humble before and after the battle but during you bring the heat. I think that’s what makes competitions a bit more lame then straight up battling it out in the cyphers - everyone be soft now - India didn’t make contact, wasn’t vocal - and was competitive with the conversation of the battle
That was a great performance. Ami was smoot like butter. India did a great job but Ami was way too smooth. It appears that Australia the only country that doesn't have any real B-Girls.

How does this work? Do the Breakers know the music beforehand? Miss India's moved are so fluid, smooth, agile, dynamic, artistic, stylish... If she she improvised and choreographed it on the fly she's my favorite so far
Dancing to the music is very important. India is on point she deserves to win that battle. But unfortunately these battles aren’t about dancing to the music lol. Someone was off beat here
because they held qualifier by region so less competition. There was also a limit per country like many other olympic events otherwise there would have probably been 6 japanese bgirls. Also both dancers in this video were in the olympics - India made it to top 8 and Ami won gold
Yeah, agree, Ami won that one. Felt like Ami won out of clout though against Riko and 671 though. Just my opinion. All the ladies are very bad@$$ for sure
I know almost zero about break dancing but how they decided she won??? Holy Moly was levels above. In routine, athleticism, and in performance. Her execution was better, just seemed crisper, her moves more refined. I’m not saying rigged but I’m saying hmmm
Something very addictive about this raygun rabbit hole. Just can't understand why she kept winning competitions against Holy Molly when she was so bad. Does someone know?
Who came here after watching Raygun and wondered whats the girls breakdance normally look like ? 😂

Guilty as charged! ✋️
Breaking. And yall coulda just watched the rest of the event. India and ami were in the top 8

Yes Ami won gold in Olympics
It’s about Australian breakdance not raygun.
After hearing that “Ray Gun” was the best b-girl in Australia, I had to come here to make sure that was complete b.s.
and how exactly does this video confirm that?
Apparently, there's a little girl who wipes the floor with Raygun but she's too young to compete at the Olympics.

b-girls have better floor routines than gymnasts
Doesn't need to be in the Olympics tbh. Olympics are overrated

No kangaroo, no sprinkler, no homer simpson, no T-rex... these people don't know how to breakdance!
T-Rex is the greatest movie ever. I’m judging everyone by that standard now. 😂
