I agree regarding the stability and making you feel like you're not going as fast as you are. It is glued to the pavement and holds a line like its on rails. My RC30 is also as stable, but the power and sound of the RC51 makes it my favorite.
I find it funny how the U.S marketing dept called it "RC51" instead of SP1 like the rest of the world. I get they were trying to cash in on the VFR750R RC30 & RVF750R RC45, but that was those bikes actual vehicle description code within the VIN number. "RC51" is not this bikes code, its code is SC45, by Hondas own nomenclature, it makes no sense at all.😆
Great bike, it allowed Honda to beat Ducati at their own game, after winning WSBK riders championship 2 out of 3 years and forced Ducati to relent and let the Japanese bike manufacturers go to 1000cc I4s format, of course with air restrictors to balance them out. Honda dropped the RC51 and moved to the 1000RR superbike to match their product line better.
The rules of WSB were written to give Ducati an advantage, in the early days not only were they allowed to have a 250cc displacement advantage, but were allowed to be lighter as well (if i remember correctly it was around 35kg (77 pounds). They should have been limited to 100cc bigger, like in WSS, and it would have made a much more level playing field.
Anything make this hard to ride aside from the torque for a newer rider? It's tempting to pick up one of these machines because they're cheaper and still reliable.
Yes clutch is difficult as well as it’s a hard bike to handle. It’s not impossible for a starter but you’d need to at least have done the basic riders course and be super comfortable with using a clutch

One day I will to add a r30 to my collection. One of my dream bikes I’m yet to even come close to.

Get a 82 suz. Gs 750 e with the tscc on the engine covers, fast mc. It's vintage enough regret getting rid of mine ,got gs1100
