An elder tells the children of Oneida an ancient Iroquois tale about mosquitoes and how they came to be.
Old meets new in this animated short film from the Oneida Nation of the Thames animator Sonawahes Antone; this ancient story has been told to generations of Iroquois children in the great oral tradition and through the beaded record belts of the past. Now, for the first time ever, this story is brought to life through modern 2D computer animation techniques entirely in the ancient Oneida language.
This animated short was produced with the help of the Oneida Language and Cultural Centre, an organization dedicated to preserving the traditional Oneida language.
