I just saw S3E1 and i'm sobbing. Shay was my favorite character and always will be. She was not only the funniest, wittiest, genuine and most selfless character, but she also dealt with the most in the time she was on the show. Every time I see Severide I cry now for him :((((((

She saw him as a best friend and so he knew that so because of this he never tried anything. He respected her and that she’s not into men. Also men and women should just be able to be friends (wether she was gay or not) cause it’s really nice to see. It needs to be shown more cause they can be.
Yep, Shay was the love of his life. The fact that it never turned romantic makes it that much more precious. They would have easily died for each other. True pure love ❤

They were going to have a baby together… I believe they were both totally in love with each other (he absolutely was with her)… they were each other’s “person”… she was my all-time favorite character on the show, but especially bc of the two of them… they were seriously the BEST together… they had such a pure love for each other.. he was never the same without her… I love that even just a couple years ago when the ambulance got ruined when Casey went running to Brett that Severide went to get shay’s side of the door with her name on it…
Maybe its just me but I think it would be neat if Kelly had the word " Always" Tattooed over his heart. Like they never mention him GETTING it in the show its just there whenever there are shirtless Severide scenes, and those who know, Know
