I got my first Art Creation sketchbook in 2018, when no one had heard of them and they weren't popular at all. I saw a cheap red sketchbook and thought: 'Okay let's try.' And I hated it. It didn't work at all for what I wanted to do. Fast forward to 2020..? 2021 maybe. I decided to give it another try and I fell in love. I've been using mostly Art Creation sketchbooks ever since. They're cheap, they can handle quite a lot, have a lot of pages and come in lovely colours. My go to colour is probably red, but I like the yellow one too. They're all amazing!
I always find it interesting how an art supply that one person loves another could despise! I really hated using my beta sketchbook and much prefer the alpha ❤❤
I'm really looking forward to seeing you start your Art Creation sketchbook. I started using them recently after hearing all the rave about them and I love it. I've been using a small square one but my first A5 one (in red) just arrived in the post! It'll feel a bit like filling one in besides you which will be motivating (although you're definitely quicker than I am!)
my favorite sketchbook is def stillman and birn zeta series!! I really want to try the beta series now; alcohol markers are beautiful on the zeta paper, but i’ve recently been using more water-based markers (more prone to streaks) and i feel like they look nicer on cold press.
I am truly so inspired by your art. Your animals are so cute! But I do love to draw people, so I loved this one and can’t wait to see more! I love all your suggestions and musings. (I just ordered some Talens books, per your suggestion, I found them buy 1 get 2 free!) Thanks for always making me excited to draw!
My absolute favourite sketchbook is the strathmore softcover mixed media in the middle size (close to A4/letter size, idr the measurements) but it is INSANELY expensive in Australia so I rarely get it 😢
I am so glad I found your videos! You are one of those few people who really get the sketchbook thing. I was always so intimidated by all these perfect drawings people show off but how am I supposed to get better when having this standard? You gave me the insight and the inspiration to throw perfectionism out the window and just be happy to create something. I am proud to say that I am learning to draw horses. Did anatomy studies of the bones and muscles and already noticed a big improvement. Thank you so much for making these wonderful colourful videos. Your approach is so healthy and inspiring! I love that you are so authentic. 🌺
I need to sketch more but my week is full sometimes I don't want to do nothing when I get home from work! But at least I'm doing my color pencil art on Sundays.
I personally loved the Talens sketchbook I used a while back, you get used to the warm paper tone quite quick! It’s still one of my favorite sketchbooks even though I’ve only filled one so far 😅 The color options are so cute, I had a peach pink one
i just found your channel recently and immediately fell in love! i love your chatting it sounds like we’re having a conversation and it’s sooo relaxing. i also really admire your art style and consistent, high quality posts. You’re truly amazing and i’m currently binging ur channel at 12 am, you’re that good 💕💕💕
I am trying to decide what my next sketchbook is going to be. I have one I am half finished with and a few, I just haven't liked lately. I am really wanting one that will handle watercolor better. As I really want to work with watercolor more. I really love seeing others use watercolor, but mine doesn't seem to behave the way I want and I really think it is the paper I am using. So I am wanting to find a better mixed media sketchbook or maybe a watercolor one.
I recently started using the talents sketch books and I've been really liking it I use a little bit of all media and it seems to work pretty well I'm using the a4 in black ps Love your videos!❤
Oh, that handbook one - I recently just got that one as a hopeful mixed media sketchbook! I like the paper from the one painting I've done so far, and the size is really nice I think. The talens - I have a small square one by them but I found the colour way too off-white for me. Personally I have a few sketchbooks going at once because that works for me, to have a place for 'nicer' sketches and scrappier ones, but using just the one at a time definitely takes some of that indecision away I'm sure! Really loved the colours on this spread btw. The birds are adorable too!
My favorite sketchbook right now is Derwent's Big Book, I don't even feel the need to try any others now. xD It comes in different sizes, don't be fooled by the name, lol. I've got the A5 size. Have used it for inktober for two years so far, it takes the ink perfectly from my Uni Pin brush pen and other pens too. Pencil can be hard to erase properly, but that's fine for me, I don't care and I'll just use a light touch. You can always make or print a cute cover for the book. 😁
I find it so funny that you're torn between the talons and the stillman and birn sketchbooks because I JUST got a stillman and birn beta sketchbook because of one of your videos (i am LOVING it, too - I've been playing with learning gouache and using watercolor and I'm just so excited to be able to add color to my sketchbooks and make them more colorful) but I've been eyeing those talons books, too, because they look like they handle marker pretty well and would be so fun for more doodle-y type sketches? (I admit the stillman and birn I feel like I need to get the most out of them and use paint more) but I'm really excited to see how you end up using it! also really fun to see you drawing people again! What a welcome surprise!
Not me using watercolour in a art talens sketchbook while watching this... its working well it's taken a surprising amount of layers using a LOT of water though it probably can't handle much more, and I also used gouache in it recently which went well too so I think it's great especially for the price
yo thanks for that one tip about overlaping sketch thanks to you I have a lot of fun drawing and always end up with cool looking sketches and little cute animal dudles on the side lol
What did you use at 2:21 for the line art? By the way, you’re a huge inspiration for my art and the art channel I’m working on : Edit: I just realized you mentioned it on the video
the talens art creation sketchbooks with cork cover have white pages. so if you like the paper but don't like the off-white, this could be an option :)
@@JelArts unfortunately not. all colorfull cover talens sketchbooks have off-white paper. but at least to me the brown cork cover looks and feels very nice and special, too 🤗
Thanks for your consistent high quality art content

Yay!! That's what I hope for
Your content inspires me so much ❤😊

YOUR ART IS SO BEAUTIFUL
I like black cover sketchbooks ao I can put stickers on it or one color cover to do that as well! 😊

Buy one get TWO free? Wow!!
I know! At michaels. I’m kicking myself for not buying every size they had lol
I love watching your videos while I draw, this page turned out so cute!

I actually just added the talons sketchbook to my christmas list! I cant wait to try it out! They come in so many cute colors😊😊
your work looks amazing❤

It's a struggle to choose!! I love doing mix media but a cheap, cute, decent sketchbook (like the talens) is also appealing 👀
I doodled while watching (OC suffering, typical for most of them)
Not me using watercolour in a art talens sketchbook while watching this... its working well it's taken a surprising amount of layers using a LOT of water though it probably can't handle much more, and I also used gouache in it recently which went well too so I think it's great especially for the price
Wow that's awesome to hear!!
I have 3 work in progress sketchbooks and one blank that I need to start... But I'll get them finished 😅
Ooooo peopleeeee
yo thanks for that one tip about overlaping sketch thanks to you I have a lot of fun drawing and always end up with cool looking sketches and little cute animal dudles on the side lol
It's so fun to overlap stuff! You can create such interesting compositions without really trying to!

I havent finished a sketchbook since uni almost 5 years ago lol
I just got an email that my order is arriving today 😄 I got the raccoon sticker and print and mystery 10 pack 😋
Woo hoo! I hope you enjoy :)
the talens art creation sketchbooks with cork cover have white pages. so if you like the paper but don't like the off-white, this could be an option :)
Ohhh good suggestion! So it doesn't have the colourful covers?
