I can't think of a single metric in which China, US and the UK's police forces would concieveably be in the top 10 together. The approaches to policing are so wildly different.
There's alot of police brutality in China, alot more than the US. It just doesn't get reported on because, well, it's China human rights is more of a suggestion than a requirement down there.
Absolutely - China - efficiency in beating up innocents may be near the top but de-escalation bottom, whereas the UK would be near the bottom for beating up innocents but near the top for de-escalation
As a UK officer - the best skill is talking to someone. Plenty of situations can be defused by speaking to people at a reasonable level and treating them as human, instead of shouting orders at them like many American officers seem to do.
Some years ago there was a case in the US where a police officer not on duty deescalated a situation with a armed man by talking with him and calm im down almost to point to give up. Then the police arrived and barge in screaming like a drill sergant. The officer who deescalated the situation lost his job because of this.
That's why I don't see why in that list German Police are worser American Police. To me that list looks very noncredible and not even an explaining what criteria were used for that ranking. Education? Psychic training? Deescalation skills? Kill-Ratio? By the way, american education to police officer are very short in relation to ours.
Been to England and Scotland alot. But even when I go to a match in London, my idiot friend (not sober) walked up to a riding police and .. here it is.. ASKED!!! to be taken a picture.. Sure no problem. I think wherever you are in the world, if you are polite 99.99999% of the police will treat you accordingly. They might say NO! But thats it.. they dont want to make more work.
@@Hey.Joe. I've lived in Germany as a Brit for some years now. And from my personal observations, I would regard the German police as good. Better than the French who may be professionally good, but tend to get out of control and are generally not friendly at all. The Bundespolizei on the other hand are usually helpful, and not heavy-handed, or "macho" as their American colleagues seem to be.
I was once walking home from the archery club passing through the train station. Two officers came to me and started asking what I'm doing, where I'm going and wanted to inspect my equipment after checking my ID. So I said I'd like to not put it on the ground (it was wet) so one held my bag while I unpacked it and showed the ("dull" carbon) arrows, leather quiver ect. and they were fine. I packed it back up, was kind of a nice interaction overall. :)
I had a similar encounter probably in about the 80s . I was pulled over in my car on a routine traffic stop so nothing to worry about and the officer asked me what I had in my boot (trunk for you Americans) So I told him I have two shotguns a Lee Enfield .303 and a .177 target air pistol . He told me to stop taking the piss and to show him , so I did and on seeing my collection he first said “do you have a license for these” to which I replied yes . He then said you really shouldn’t be carrying these about to which I replied I’ve just come from a gun club and the shooting range I can’t exactly walk with them . He then said oh okay off you go ; he never did ask to see my licenses .
In general the British Police are unarmed, but there are armed units everywhere if required. You will see heavily armed officers in higher risk areas, like around Government & military premises, & these are very visible. Many normal police officers are asking to be removed from gun duty because of an officer that has been charged about the shooting of a suspect while on duty. These men do not want a similar offence to be laid against them. As a rule the British police aim is to work for & with the public, to serve the law rather than to enforce it. It is known as policing by consent, not by force. The police tend to present to the public as friendly & polite, & helpful. You usually have no problem approaching a police officer to ask for help or advice etc, they even arrest people in a respectful way, unless confronted aggressively. It is very unlikely that an officer will point a gun at you, unless you pose a threat yourself.
I live in the state of Victoria in Australia and all police carry guns. I never saw anything in the news where the press commented on it when, overnight almost, they all had pistols on their hips. Why? I'd much rather it be like Britain here.
That ranking was weird. I think the police in England generally do a good job, but I recognise there are areas for improvement. I would have assumed that there were other countries above us. I also did not expect to see the USA Police in the top 10, particularly as they are not a single police force, but made up of about 18,000 individual police agencies. As you say, what metrics were they using???
5:06 idk about other countries, but in my country, the police are armed, but are forbidden to use their firearms. Unless they have confirmation that they can use lethal force to take out a person. And even then, for most cases. By that time, the military or special forces are called upon to take care of the job. its really a exception, if they happen to lack manpower and need the police to intervene/help.
In my country (9 million people) weapons are used in average (over the last 10 years) about 12 times a year by the police (not drawn, but actually fired). They are only allowed to use weapons as a last resort. So the basically don't use weapons.
@@lorenzobaio-jr3mb Here in France, police use their gun if the person they are trying to arrest isn't "white enough" for their liking (Nahel, Alhoussein Camara, and many more unfortuantely these last few years) I think our police is the one that kills the most amongst european countries (or at least the one that is the most brutal) They also like to beat down pacific protestor, there was a video of a woman walking on the sidewalk and getting charged at by 2-3 policemen for no reasons and getting bashed by a riot shield I can't understand how our police ends up in the top ten The worse thing about that is that they are covered by the IGPN (basically the police of the police) which covers them and make sure that they won't be convicted of anything, the worst they get is a slap on the wrist and a few weeks suspension

We all had that delay when we saw number 9... what is the criteria for "best"? Interesting that you started saying "baddass" when referring to them though, you went straight to the enforcement part
1:30 in my country (eu member) they are armed but resports say they rarely even have to show it to anyone throught...their whole career so that's that ...
In Germany the police is (sometimes jokingly) referred to "your friend and helper", you're not actually supposed to be scared of them if you didn't do anything wrong. Just be respectful and behave normally, they're not very likely to shoot you. You can step out of your vehicle and reach into your pockets without being killed, which I'm sure, to an american, must sound really dangerous
We used to go to Portugal every year and there was some shoot outs at nightclubs near the Algarve. Also my family were in Lisbon in '68 and the miltary had taken over, soldiers had guns on the buses
There is a big difference in the way American and European police officers use their guns. American cops shoot first and ask questions later. In Europe, it is rare for police officers to use guns. For example, in Finland it is very rare.
About 1 in 20 of UK police are special constables who are fully trained and empowered unpaid volunteers, there is also about 1 police support volunteer for every 25 full time police. They support officers in Neighbourhood Policing Teams, improving standards of witness care or providing enhanced levels of customer service and helping the public at police stations, etc. We also have nearly as many Police Community Support officers who have some but not all the legal powers of the police but are paid. PCSOs generally perform routine duties, assisting and supporting police officers, gathering intelligence, carrying out security patrols and, through their presence alone, reassuring the public. Where possible, they also attend to matters not requiring police powers.
if you have ARV pull up on you like that, you have royally fecked up somehow. US sends people over to UK for training courses and everytime they do, the de-esculation improves no end back home with less injuries and death
Norway cops are armed, but their guns are locked in their cars. They have to get permission to open them. Also we have armed police in the UK, but they are a specialist unit.
Here in Austria 🇦🇹 I just sat down a couple of days ago in a park cuz it is getting warmer and sunny and had a 1 hour conversation randomly with a cop about job opportunities 😂😂
Britain may not be number 1 and are perhaps too soft with criminals but I know no friends or family have had bad experiences with the police - but then we are not criminals. Anybody who criticizes the British police is, by definition, a bit suspect. If you don't like it here, relocate to Korea, Russia, Thailand, South America etc etc
A major problem with US police forces is that there are around 15 to 18 thousand of them - no, not officers, different forces. This includes federal, state and county forces. There's no way anyone could judge "US Police" as being better or worse than others when there are that many.
the police ranking is just opinion and also depends on if you count the special police forces in or not. if you count them in, austria is somewere in the top5, you might even have heard of the "Eko Cobra"

The thin blue line comes from the thin red line which refers to the British formation in battle which spread soldiers in two ranks to maximise firepower as opposed to massed phalanx tactics. It was later associated with the Crimean war and at some stage about a century ago, changed to thin blue line and associated with police in the U.S. Has since been adopted by neo Nazis and alt right.
05:15 These police are NOT on edge. They are alert, ready, trained. Very few mistakes are made when they’re holding a firearm. Their career and sometimes their liberty depends on not making mistakes.
Btw you can have a gun in Europe. You just have to have a safe to store it in aswell. Go through some checks. And gun training. Reasonable things... And i think its either for home defense, hunting, or if in public, then concealed. Depends on a country. So you can have guns in EU. There realy is no reason for it though. Just in case home defense i guess... But thats rare..
Well, if the British police are rolling up on you like that, you could just be minding your own business but you’re Irish or Brazilian or Muslim or whatever.
Strange that armed police in Europe don't pull their guns as quickly and you don't hear of citizens being shot in anywhere near the same level of frequency.
My best guess: Your mind seems to be warped by USAbased education -- not only school, but also job and life. You should live somewhere else for awhile.
Irish police are unarmed but there’s officers who are firearms trained and can be issued with arms. There’s also armed response units who have the usual submachine guns, shotguns etc. Also, detectives are armed. So the normal cop on the beat has pepper spray, baton etc. but there’s plenty of cops with guns.
1:59 crazy how the portuguese police (specially the GNR) didn't make it to the top list being a police force with a military status in the 7th safest country in the world (we used to be third but we dropped a couple places) Edit: you should see videos of other countries police forces
Yeah that top10 is worthless; you don't know what's ranked. French police forces in general is divided in two, with the Gendarmerie (military status) on one side and the Police Nationale (civilian) on the other side, with both having different roles. And the picture used was of a CRS, which used to be a PRIVATE police force that was incorporated in the French Police and is used for peacekeeping in riots; not regular policing activities. It's all over the place.
@@LeSarthois Exactly, here in Portugal I would equate the Gendarmerie to the Guarda Nacional Republicana and the Police Nationale to Policia de Segurança Pública.
the only metric they could use to rank that might look like this imo is by efficiency , like how much crime is solved and how much it cost's. like i see rich and low crime counties that probably have a tiny police force and places like the usa with a huge force and lots of crime but the police have other income sources other then tax payers ( seizures and speeding tickets etc). would explain why canada is so high aswell relatively low crime but police drive around giving fines all day.
@@Jack-lk7wk we were still a safe country, now you might be thinking of Casal Ventoso with it's pictures of thousands of people in one street buying and selling drugs, nowadays it's not like that anymore since Portugal won the war on drugs by allowing small portions for person so there's no risk of selling it, outside of that street it was still safe, my father lived there he says people held each other accountable if there was problems, so I don't know how much that's worth in your opinion. The truth is outside of it people can go out alone on the streets with no issues, go to a bank make large withdrawls with small to no risk, etc... Since the start of the GPI in 2007 we've always been in the top 10
Since the UK changed the rules to get more women to join the police force in the 80s, we don't have any more female officers, but we have 5'4" tubby policemen! Same with the Fire Service.
the only reason US police is catching more criminals is because the crime rate is way higher than all of EU combined not to mention the people who get made into criminals because some cops have to meet a quota, or the people who makes tiny mistakes but get marked as Criminals because of the system you have..
Funny enought most of europe doesnt like the british unarmed style of policing. We like our cops armed and ready to face any threat. BUT a gun is a last resort tool for sure
I have never had many issues with the police in England, I've been cuffed up for a bit of yayo once but they were nice and was at the front. Let me go with a warning but kept my nose clean (no pun intended) ever since xD
Norwegian police are normally unarmed, but they have forward arms in their cars (pistol and a submaching gun (MP5)). Also will they in times of emergencies/threats be armed for short or longer periode. To arm themself do they need permission or be in a threatening situation that justify getting their arms out of the locker in their car
The very first part of your video is incorrect. I am a retired police officer from the UK (London’s Met police) and I was armed and so are over 144 thousand other officers armed in the UK so it’s not very accurate eh. Yes we are not routinely armed but your video suggests that we are completely unarmed which is untrue
If street sweepers are better trained than police officers as in the USA and if some US states have training guidelines from Hitler in their program ... what does that say about the U.S. and its police?
Eh, no puns but in my country the police force people need to have a two year university master degree at any police university! They get payd for those studies, like any other University students.. that any country like to be there new leaders, cops, politicians/what ever! Free and payd to go to university is a democraty thing!
Fun Fact that everybody gets wrong. England is not a country, officially speaking. Under UN rules of what defines a country, England doesn’t qualify. This is because “England” doesn’t have a government elected and acting in its name. The parliament in London is that of “The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Strangely Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland all have their own parliaments, government and elections so qualify as countries, but because England doesn’t have its own parliament and government it technically is not a country.
England is a Country and i am English, the same as somebody will be Welsh, Scottish or Irish, collectively we are all British, the UK is made up of 4 different countries.
The UN does not define what a country is. The UN recognizes sovereign states, some of which are members, and some of which are not. There are many definitions of what a country is, but having elections and a parliament is not really part of any of them. By most definitions, England is a constituent country of the UK.
Survival instinct? I think if a police force that clearly outnumbers you and you do not act violently in any way you should not be concerned about your life. That would just be wrong.
Canadians are nice and polite but.....also very sneaky which makes Canadian Police quite unpredictable. They smile and are vicious at the same time. Psychos...
I've had my picuture taken with two policeofficers in San Fransico once. They were very chill. Honestly, maybe this is not your purpose, but you actually reinforce stereotypical views of Americans widely held by Europeans who for some reason really like to dislike Americans.
Police in america get 600 hours of training and yet a barber gets 1500 hours of training - gosh I wonder why american cop’s are so bad at doing their job??? Also they have no duty to protect their public so why do they have ‘to serve and protect’ on the side of their vehicles. When I was a police officer in London I swore an oath to the late Queen to save life and limb. American’s by law have no expectation of police officer’s saving them from harm, so what on earth is the point of them being there. I guess to arrest as many people as possible (as you have more laws and more law enforcement than any other country) and to put them in jail (you have the most people incarcerated in the entire world). The jails and prisons seem to be there to make money as a first priority
I'm a proud German fellow. But I have to lodge an appeal against the top ten list of the 'best' police forces of Europe in the video. German police may be displaced in the ranking. To characterize the police in my country I wanna mention firstly that there are immigrated family clans that brought us a lot of crime and violence into the country and since decades, politicians and the police are completely unable to prevent the situation from getting worse and worse and worse and worse 😅 If they catch a clan member during a criminal act, he'll threaten them to make them problems personally or hurt their families and they'd be scared and let him go without even filing a charge. They can offend and insult the cops without consequences. On the other hand our police is eloquent and merciless when it comes to microscopic misdoings. I don't think they're corrupt, so it could be worse... How many member states do we have, 27? Whilst waiting to get back my driving license that I lost for three and a half years because of buying a tiny amount of cannabis on the streets plus obviously giving the false answers in the following one hour interrogation with ten policemen in the middle of a big market place - what I give the German police is a solid 22th place.
9:29 well not really i mean in the us there are guns so its a thing they are constantly thinking about in the uk they dont so its not something they are constantly thinking about
Certainly appears that in the US, school bullies generally graduate to be police officers far too commonly. Not to say all are bad, far from that, there are many true public servant good guys. Just too many bring the whole team down, able to hide under 'qualified immunity', and/or just closed community mates protecting mates. Break the laws, go outside or breach procedures, fake or invent none existing laws, abuse your power, and more, should be fully punishable to maximum. No qualified immunity, police doing wrong must be fully held to account, given they are trained, and made aware of strict procedures, thus have no excuse for breaking laws and power abuses. Penalties should double or triple compared to similar applied to non sworn public. Three counts and compulsory dismissal. Legal suit payouts must go against the offending officer, not public funds, unless action results from legitimate police actions according to laws and procedures. Break laws and procedures, become personally liable.....
4:54 Yes, some people are more or less phychopathic, often criminals like this. These have far less fear (or "survival instinct") than the rest of us. They enjoy the thrill.
My dad was in USA doing some job maybe 1985 ish ? . where I don't remember. But in a major city. But him and some friends was out for a beer. And they made the mistake of walking back to the hotel. In Norway at least we prefer to walk. Not done in USA . This is true unless he lied to me wich I doubt. 3 men walking down a road. Police was .. hands up aganst the wall. you all know the drill. And they saw the passports.. They said. Idiot Europeans and drove them to the hotel. So they are not BAD.. just very carefull. Wich is reasonable since alot of people carry guns in USA.
Yes, what is the definition? I mean, if you want your murder solved, you should live in Denmark, sonve we have one of the best murder solved rates in the world (above 90% don't remeber the exact nr). However if you like your bike, don't come to Denmark 😜 Cause police have like a less then 1% solved rate of bike theft. How ever educationwise, I bet Denmark beats US police, at least! So I dont know how they messure this..?
Yeah kinda dislike that police ranking video as there was absolutely no metric in it. My country has 3 years police schooling i would assume it would make it better than UK that has around 6 months alltho i think uk cops are definitely top tier too. Also we dont have obese cops either as they have to be jacked to get that job in the first place. Alltho detectives dont need to be super fit as its not their job to chase people anyway.
🤣🤣🤣 Our New Zealand police have to pass regular physical tests to stay in the force. No fat f….s in our country. And they are super nice. Nor is there over escalation by our cops. However - Take a walk down any American street and watch the cops waddle pass you into dunkin donuts. So fat they couldn’t bend over to tie their own shoe laces. They would be the laughing stock of the world, if they hadn’t proven how corrupt and dangerous they are. But that’s what happens when you give a person with an IQ of a peanut, a gun and a shiny new badge. That video on police rates by country is so wrong, it’s only one person’s opinion
It's a vicious circle in the US. Guns are so common in the US that American police have to be tough. Making them tough makes them more aggressive, which makes Americans more aggressive towards them. And so on. FWIW, they're unarmed here in New Zealand too but, as in the UK, armed SWAT-like teams are quickly available as backup. And - also like British police - NZ cops are very friendly for the most part.
Yeah, that's what it is; the fact that UK Police have been combating armed terrorists since 1916, and are still mostly unarmed, by your metric, @jamesdignanmusic2765, means British cops are soft!? Give your head a shake, and take a look at how British Police confront and disarm people, rather than the way US Police just kill them outright!
I think training makes a *big* difference too, apparently in some parts of the US you can become an armed police officer with just two weeks total training! That training includes both general policing and fire arms training. Whereas in the UK you have to have been a qualified officer for years before you'll even be considered for fire arms training. The UK training also has an emphasis on de-esculation and I believe that officers need permission to shoot.
The armed teams you reference are referred to as "ARV". Mobile units that actively patrol in marked and unmarked cars, ready to be deployed to a serious violence incident or firearms incident on a moment's notice.
I'm afraid there seems to be too much "trigger-happiness". And when someone makes a "wrong" position by having a cellphone in his hand...he's likely to have 12 bullets in him. 6 from each officer. It's sad but I feel safer in many 3rd world country than I do visiting the US. I've been to Vietnam, Russia, Serbia, Peru and other such countries and I've felt safer there. I recently read that UK kids before going on a trip to the US are given a pamphlet with things to do and not to do when they're there. And I don't think it wasn't only advising them not to jaywalk.
lol thats you opinion. Most of us europeans like a "badass" police. I want Police to be my guardians, warriors. Not some unarmed civilian with a radio with a tie and polish shoes.. I want it with a tactical vest, gun and boots.. Thats what i want to protect me
@@nedludd7622 Who the f talked about psychopaths? im talking about a well trained and equipped Police. Not some shoes and tie guy like in the 30s. Time's have changed and we in europe are lucky to have amazing police forces like in France, Spain or Portugal
@@dedeferreira98 Our police force in the UK (with all its faults and problems) is well trained, mate. You don't have to be armed to your teeth and terrorise civilians to (supposedly) 'protect' them from the bad guys.
@@allegory6393 Its well trained? dude you need 8 guys to take down 1.. Its litterally the worst in europe. Its not being armed to the teeth, the regular officer in the rest of europe (not to say the world) has a handgun which he only uses as last resort tool when lives are in danger. Which means that if my life is in danger and a regular officer is nearby (which is most of the police force made of) he can protect me. While in the UK if im in a restaurant and a guys starts stabbing or worst, cops cant do shit but hide and call ofther units. Ill give you one example. A few months ago in Lisbon a guy random started stabbing people in the city. Two officers who were nearby giving someone a ticket hear the screams, came around the corner, shot the guy in the leg after several attemps to de escalate the situation. The guy survived and everyone was saved leaving only THREE people injuried.. What would happen in the uk? cops wouçd scream and couldnt do shit but call other cops which would leave more people in danger.. Like in the London bridge attack where a VERY BRAVE british officer charged a terrorist with a baton.. He died and several people died after sadly. He could have saved himselve and others if he was armed.. Unarmed policing just doesnt work mate. If you cant handle a handgun you shouldnt be a cop
I am European. I was recently on a road trip in the US. I watched several TH-cam videos with good advice. Two things was repeated. 1. Do not expect to cover the US in two weeks. You will spend your time in a car. 2. The police is not your friends.
Apart from everything else what really shocks me is how many US police are very overweight and obviously unfit. I am not just speaking of older chiefs in small towns although I come across this a lot, I see many younger police who to put it bluntly are fat. In small crimes and chases they rely on their guns rather than their legs I guess. It always surprises me that there appears to be no fitness requirement.
@@SatieSatie I have lived for months in France, both in the South and in Paris and I really cannot remember coming across fat policemen on the street. I have to be honest I never quite got used to that although over time it got less scary.
@@mmckenzie8085 I agree, I have yet to see a fat police officer in Europe (not saying that there are absolutely none, maybe there are). I'm just amused by how they chose pictures of the most _badass_ handsome police officers they could find for certain countries, when the reality is much more... well, real.
Well when half the population is obese, police apartments are defunded, officers having to think 20 times if shooting someone who is pointing a gun at you is alright or can get you behind bars due to the color of the criminals skin, while constantly risking your life on a regular traffic stop due to every child carrying a gun, id guess it is hard enough to find anyone, willing to apply as things currently are. If you then alter the requirements to, lets say a european standard, with year-long education, training and fittness tests, good luck finding a single new police officer lol.

Allow me to correct you. In the UK as a whole, police are not armed; however, in Northern Irekand (part of the UK) police have ALWAYS been arned due to their dual role (1) ordinary, normal police work, and (2) combatting terrorism. While the police vehicles in mainland Britain are easily distinguishable by their Battenburg markings, i.e. blue and yellow chequered decals, the police vehicles in Northern Ireland are easily distinguishable from the rest of the world as they are grey-coloured, armoured Landrovers with pivotal windscreen grills designed to protect against petrol bombs and other hand missiles and small-arms fire. Formerly the Royal Ulster Constabulary, they are now the Police Service of Northern Ireland - the ONLY UK police to be permanently armed.
@@Burglar-King Considering that the original video as made by an Englishman, what would you expect? Wuzer is an American and like most Americans don't know the difference between English, British and UK - and he doesn't once mention English, he mentions British and UK, and in his blurb he mentions UK. However, the video doesn't even show US Police in action, so the bias - like yours - is obvious. British police used to have the reputation of being the best in the world, but that is disaooearing fast, as they've all gone woke and acting anti-British. The question of "criteria" - the basis of best - has not been given, so therefore cannot be judged fairly. When you get a police force that is used as a pawn by the government, hated by one half of the population, admired by the other half, and suffers a mendacious campaign of lies and propaganda, and has to face the population day after day while doing their "normal" job as required of them, loses 300-plus murdered officers and have to regularly check their cars for bombs, and leave their wices and familes to intinidation, they deserve respect. So who is it that that decides and declares "English" police as the Number One best? On the other hand, because the person who created the video has the idea of England being Number One without saying why, you think he's right - but don't say why. Methinks you need an education!
We're the RUC armed prior to the troubles kicking off in the late 60's ? Let's not forget they were basically a protestant police force for a protestant people and were hostile to the nationalist community. Fortunately things are a little better nowadays even though the PSNI are still armed.
@@philipmccarthy6175 Yes, they were ALWAYS armed, even before 1921, so you clearly don't know your own country's history, yet you are happy to continue with the tired and fallacious old mantra of the RUC being a sectarian force. In the first place, police only do what the governments tell them, and thus can become a political pawn, and that applies to all countries. Secondly, while the RUC were indeed mainly Protestant, it was purely for the simple reason that Catholics were intimidated by the Nationalist/Republican leaders who warned them not to join or else!! The message was clear, and that's the way it has always been. In my job I had to meet police all over the UK, and I've met and talked with literally thousands. I met many Catholic officers in the RUC - fine men who had served up to ten and fifteen years alongside their Protestant colleagues with never a problem. In a riot situation, it doesn't matter whether the brick that hits you is thrown by a Protestant or Catholic, a Unionist or a Nationalist; it's a situation that police all over the world have to deal with regardless of political or other motivation. I've listened to Catholic and Protestant officers discuss the many situations in NI, and the usual consensus is that they are there to do the government's bidding, whether they liked it or not. In every instance I found decent men trying under very difficult circumstances to do the job they were paid to do. I've met Catholic officers who where not just threatened by local people, but had their familes boycotted and ostracised, just because they chose to become police officers. When you not only allow, but encourage youn children to stand in front of their parents and throw petrol bombs at police, it says a lot about the parents, and yet you applaud this kind of behaviour and put the blame on the police. At the end of the day, if you create and provoke a violent situation, you're going to get a violent response and blame everyone else except yourself for the outcome.
@@philipmccarthy6175The RUC have been armed since inception in the early 1920s as there has always been isolated terrorism. Their replacement, the PSNI are armed 24/7 but in the last 10 years since I returned here , only one shooting incident with no fatalities. As for the earlier comment about police cars, all squad cars are painted the same as the rest of the UK and the land rovers are now painted white with the blue check decal around the side.
In the UK the police generally recognise that their job becomes much harder without the trust and co - operation of the public. Most do a good job in difficult circumstances.
I can't think of a single metric in which China, US and the UK's police forces would concieveably be in the top 10 together. The approaches to policing are so wildly different.
k/d ratio
@@MK-zl7hj US and China for the highest tier and UK for the lowest?
There's alot of police brutality in China, alot more than the US. It just doesn't get reported on because, well, it's China human rights is more of a suggestion than a requirement down there.
Absolutely - China - efficiency in beating up innocents may be near the top but de-escalation bottom, whereas the UK would be near the bottom for beating up innocents but near the top for de-escalation
Maybe money they invest into the police force per annum? You can use that very differently. Like good training for UK, a lot of equipment in the US.
I didn't know China or Canada are in Europe. (And French police are unfriendly bastards).
The Bundespolizei on the other hand are usually helpful, and not heavy-handed, or "macho" as their American colleagues seem to be.
it is much easier to lean out the left window, if your driver seat is on the right side though ;)
I was wondering why that angle looked odd/funny. Thanks for pointing that out
We have small cars and big policemen
National training -- college degree -- extensive training before being 'released' on the public.
I was pulled over in my car on a routine traffic stop so nothing to worry about and the officer asked me what I had in my boot (trunk for you Americans)
So I told him I have two shotguns a Lee Enfield .303 and a .177 target air pistol .
There are no unarmed police in Northern Ireland UK
I live in the state of Victoria in Australia and all police carry guns. I never saw anything in the news where the press commented on it when, overnight almost, they all had pistols on their hips. Why? I'd much rather it be like Britain here.
The second video is just a joke, that ranking is complete bs 😂
Lol yeah England police 😂
these comparison accounts are complete bs generally 🙂
England has the calmest police and you cant get their back up. We have armed police too 😊
That ranking was weird.
I mean they wrote "England", but used the Union Flag and didn't provide any metrics whatsoever, so I think that list can be safely disregarded.
It appears to have been just one person's personal top ten. Nothing more.
I would say the metrics being used was a dice
UK has 43 forces... 3 are not home office forces, BTP, CNC and MOD.
Is this ranking old? I remember a recent case where a British police officer had raped and killed a woman on her way home from a night out.
5:00 if you shoot an civilian that doesn't aim a weapon at you in europe, you are in BIG trouble
As soon as he pointed the gun toward the cop, I already had one of the police activity pov videos on front of me 😁
5:06 idk about other countries, but in my country, the police are armed, but are forbidden to use their firearms.

They also like to beat down pacific protestor, there was a video of a woman walking on the sidewalk and getting charged at by 2-3 policemen for no reasons and getting bashed by a riot shield
I can't understand how our police ends up in the top ten
The worse thing about that is that they are covered by the IGPN (basically the police of the police) which covers them and make sure that they won't be convicted of anything, the worst they get is a slap on the wrist and a few weeks suspension

All police in NI UK are armed
It's UK the first. You see it because the driving seat is on the other side of the car
I’d love to know how they worked out the top 10 police. Was it just a list of their favorites???
Here in Austria 🇦🇹 I just sat down a couple of days ago in a park cuz it is getting warmer and sunny and had a 1 hour conversation randomly with a cop about job opportunities 😂😂
Anyone who says 'England' is number 1 and shows the 'UK' flag is ... not very bright. Ignore.
Norwegian police don't typically carry firearms, but they have them in their patrol cars.
the police ranking is just opinion and also depends on if you count the special police forces in or not. if you count them in, austria is somewere in the top5, you might even have heard of the "Eko Cobra"

There is no such thing as European police . In each country it’s different , sometimes even very different
What about Spanish police? I think based on my experience They are pretty Well trained

Pretty sure cops in Norway are armed, at least last time i saw one.
You should watch Riding Along with Amsterdam Cops - The Jim Jefferies Show
Irish police are unarmed but there’s officers who are firearms trained and can be issued with arms. There’s also armed response units who have the usual submachine guns, shotguns etc. Also, detectives are armed. So the normal cop on the beat has pepper spray, baton etc. but there’s plenty of cops with guns.
1:59 crazy how the portuguese police (specially the GNR) didn't make it to the top list being a police force with a military status in the 7th safest country in the world (we used to be third but we dropped a couple places)
Edit: you should see videos of other countries police forces

Its normal in germany that a policemen has a gun, but the most of them never use the gun im there carrier.
they are armed, because we have US tourists here, too!
Funny enought most of europe doesnt like the british unarmed style of policing. We like our cops armed and ready to face any threat. BUT a gun is a last resort tool for sure
The first map is kind of misleading.
Many countries have both armed and unarmed police forces.
Any police: stopping criminals or crazy idiots, russian police: beating old people or civilians with baton for no reason 🤣
Even the fact US Police is inside top ten is just silly... 😂
I think it was an American possibly who concocted that list. The England thing to me was a giveaway. I mean come on they put US 6th lol.😂
There is also no 'English' police service. There are 43 of them.

I've had my picuture taken with two policeofficers in San Fransico once. They were very chill. Honestly, maybe this is not your purpose, but you actually reinforce stereotypical views of Americans widely held by Europeans who for some reason really like to dislike Americans.
8:20 you can in europe. its not america where police is scared cause everybody could have a gun
The armed traffic stop is not normal, odds are they knew who the driver was, and either he or the car had a marker on it for drugs or weapons.
The jails and prisons seem to be there to make money as a first priority
of course i would be holding a phone and filming the thing if armed police would chase me, what do you mean 😂 you need evidence my man
I'm a proud German fellow.

You show some POs in normal uniform and others in riot control equipment, then you call the second ones looking brutal (or so).
European Police is not that Armed like in this Video, only Special Forces! They only come over with this kind of when something really bad happens!

True. But let's be honest; neither German, Dutch, nor French police look like they were depicted in that video. 😂
@@SatieSatie I have lived for months in France, both in the South and in Paris and I really cannot remember coming across fat policemen on the street. Perhaps there were some of course but I can only speak for my personal experience so perhaps not as common.
I did notice the police very much as being a Brit I am not used to seeing police walking along the streets with guns so they stood out to me.
@@SatieSatieI’ve dated a Dutch police officer and met a lot of his colleagues. I must say, most of them are pretty fit and handsome.
Or it might be my attraction to men in uniform talking here because currently I’m dating a fireman 😂
In the 90's there was a British sitcom called The Thin Blue Line starring Rowan Atkinson. Rowan is most known in the USA for his character Mr Bean.
A Dutch police officer cut me off with his policecar once, on my bike of course, he apologized so I let him off with a warning. His co-driver laughed at him.
You should check Jim Jefferies riding along with the Amsterdam cops.
Yeah that’s why number one was ENGLAND not UK
